Anyone think that the all-female cast was a shield against criticism? Everyone I've seen that put up criticism of the trailers has had to put in a "I don't hate women, but..." People who don't throw in that statement are labelled as sexists. Why? Why do people feel the need to jump to the defense of a women led project? do they think that women are incapable of making actual good jokes, and are therefore not able to be rightfully criticized? Do people honestly think that people see a woman in a video and hit the dislike button? The screenwriters were so clever. Now the SJW types will idolize the movie and shame those with valid criticisms. It's saddening, really.

Prequels had some really bad characterization, and I'll suggest ways to improve them: Qui-Gon: should not exist, be replaced with Obi-Wan so Obi-Wan is a more centralized character in TPM Jar-Jar: less cartoony-looking species, not involved in poop and fart jokes, present only in TPM to help fight for his planet despite being an outcast of his people R2-D2, C3PO, Chewbacca: should not be in prequels, unnecessary cameos. (Mostly 3PO) Young Anakin: should be 16-17, lives on a farm with his brother Owen, good pilot that competes in dangerous illegal races that pay high rewards. Watto: unnecessary, as Anakin's duty to his brother and his farm keeps him on Tatooine Padme: no handmaiden disguise, as this was a weak reveal. Should just be a 20 y/old queen that is willing to pick up a gun to defend her people. Would be more interesting also if she was unfairly "racist" against the Gungans, but Jar-Jar's bravery convinces her to turn around. Darth Maul: visibly works with the Trade Federation, hunts the heros throughout, cold-blooded killer. Not seen as bowing down to a hologram. At end, threatens Obi-wan that there are more powerful Sith to fear before his body is mangled. Comes back in ROTS... As General Maul the Greived. What do you all think of these suggestions? I think they would help the characters, and the plot to some degree. For now I have only said my suggestions for TPM. I would appreciate constructive feedback.

Maybe it's just the quality of the image I have, but it looks like the rebel in the top right corner has red lips. Hopefully someone can confirm/deny? (Probably deny)

Jyn looks plain with no visible printing. Also, no OT Sormtroopers?
-
LEGO keeps Leia scarce so we can pay big money for her in expensive sets. Why put Leia in Assault on Hoth when she can be in a different expensive Hoth set in 1-2 years? Similar to the new OT storm trooper.... :(

What Marvel/DC Characters Will NEVER Get Minifigures?
Jbricks replied to Suspsy's topic in LEGO Licensed
Is he really? In the Teen Titans show, he's a robber whose plan always fails and is beaten easily. In the Flash show, she's a robber who works for Zoom. Those are probably the versions kids would know. Unless I'm talking about the wrong Doctor Light -
Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
Jbricks replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
She has a perfectly normal smiling face, only the angry one has white eyes. -
Everything in the sets appears in some form in the movie. So, satisfied.

The Space Slug set is awesome! I'm definitely going to try to build this from the parts I have. I think this is a major step up from the past exclusive microscale SW sets (Dagobah, Lars Homestead). I thought there'd be an official LEGO exogorth!

Finished Daredevil season 2 recently. Loved it, though not quite as great as season one. I especially liked And I would have to say that the BEST part was Electra was pretty good. The thing that bothered me the most was

Best that they aren't. The whole, "I'm related to you!" reveal doesn't have all that much impact anymore, IMO (in fact in a Star Wars movie it would seem like a gag), and without that there's not a point in connecting character across movies. I can't think of any /good/ reason for Jyn to be Rey's mother.

I'm awed at all the new flesh heads, but is that one in the center the Sancrawler/Cantina Luke Skywalker head? It looks like it is, but maybe the expression is different? Edit: looking closer, he seems to have a beard. Whoops

Maybe the majority of Mon Calamari support the empire and only a small faction sides with the rebels? There's a lot of different ways it could go.

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion
Jbricks replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
The only ones in the series with molded heads are animals or aliens. Even Buzz got a standard head. Lego has no prior example of given humans molded heads, as far as I'm aware. Too much action-figure-like detail makes characters look non-Lego. IMO.- 4,155 replies

Then they wouldn't put him on the bag anywhere. The only real problem is his head, and without a nose print (which would also look bad) there's not a lot that could be done better.- 4,155 replies

It wouldn't be an issue because most people would agree that the character doesn't seem very interesting. With a female lead, plenty of people instantly jump to her defense over any criticism, like those who claimed Rey wasn't overpowered. Having a female lead has critics scrambling to say "I'm not /sexist/ but..." as if you can't criticize anything female without being a woman-hater. "Rebellious young person" trope isn't that interesting to me, and female doesn't make up for it, it doesn't even make a difference at all.

Memory wipe is almost as bad of a plot hole cover up than "it was all a dream." I would be very disappointed if a mind wipe was the explanation for Rey's backstory. How about: cloners take all the best pilot, swordfighter, mechanic, charismatic, good-looking, do-everything-right, and Jedi DNA and made Rey? It's the perfect explanation!

I laughed when I saw Mon Mothma in the SAME outfit as ROTJ. But, if we get a mini figure of her, it'll be reusable.

I'm fuming >:( and fumigating >:( I can't believe Lego is ditching Rogue One sets to make Star Wars Holiday Special sets instead!

Hey, Rogue One may be the first Star Wars movie featuring an attack on a Death Star that /doesn't/ end with it exploding.
