  1. I've never bought a LEGO Marvel set, but I can't stop looking at this Daily Bugle set. I like Spider-Man a lot, and, having not bought any of these repeat figures before, I love the line-up. I really love the building, the easter eggs, and the height. It would look impressive between my modular buildings. So, I'm really tempted to get this. But, maybe this is blasphemy to most of you, I don't care much for the non-Spider-Man figures that are exclusives to the set. And I'm considering selling them to offset the cost of buying the set. Sorry if this is taboo, but how much do you think the Punisher, Daredevil, Blade, and Fire Star minifigures will sell for on Bricklink or eBay? I've never sold figs like that, but it sounds like there are quite a few people who are the opposite of me: they want the figures but not the set. Just curious if anyone with more experience could guesstimate?
  2. Luigi set looks fun! Excited to see what else is in store for this line. My two cents, as someone who's followed LEGO for years now as an AFOL and especially loves all things Nintendo/Mario...I just don't see them ever doing dedicated sets of minifigures as long as the electronic figures/lines are around. A minifig line of sets would end up duplicating lots of what we already have in the current line (and, in order to work with minifigs would require a ton of new molds). I think LEGO made smart choices going with brick-built figures for Mario enemies/allies (except for Luigi now). The line is super charming, though I haven't bought any sets for myself yet (kids love em). Introducing minifigs right now, even in a D2C, would mean every AFOL conversation about Mario would be, "When are they stopping the electronic figure line and just making minifigs?!?" And I think LEGO has lots of mileage left to get out of the current line. So, I think a micro-scale D2C is the best choice for LEGO. It's different but won't conflict with the current line. It could appeal to the AFOL crowd by being a bigger/more detailed build. Legit leak? Who knows yet. But I think an educated guess could arrive at this being the direction LEGO would go. Just my thoughts.
  3. My thoughts exactly! I was surprised no one else had mentioned this so far. Luigi is welcome, and the possibility of two-player, connected play will make my kids happy. But my daughter is getting impatient that there's no Princess Peach yet. And, to be honest, I'm surprised she hasn't arrived yet, too.
  4. First off, I'd love to see pics of a microscale Mario MOC for sure! Totally agree that a minifigure Peach castle would need to stand up to the other LEGO minifigure-scale castles. I'm wondering if that could be accomplished at the price point this set is supposedly going to be...like, $180, right?
  5. Long time lurker chiming in for the first time here, because I feel like I'm taking crazy pills! Those buildable Harry and Hermione figures are the best part of this wave in my opinion. So, I'm glad I'll be able to grab them easily with everyone else putting them on the bottom of their lists! :) But, I only buy sets that will look good on my shelves. And I think these will make awesome display pieces. I hope they make Ron soon, and I'd love to see this extend to other themes. Give me some buildable LEGO Star Wars characters like this, please!
  6. Long-time lurker chiming in here for the first time. This bigger Mario set is my most-anticipated LEGO thing right now. And I hadn't considered microscale, but I love the idea now. I could see them making a Mushroom Kingdom diorama: Peach's Castle, Bowser's Castle or Airship, Toad houses, with hills, mountains, blocks, pipes all around it. It could be pretty cool if they do that, and then throw in a few minifigures (Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad seem the best bets) to go on a display stand. Feels like if LEGO made minifigure-scale sets, it would just be repeating their builds from the current sets. So, microscale seems like a great compromise for people who don't love the current sets. Although my kids can't get enough of them.
  7. Been following this for a while, but finally joined Eurobricks to put in my two cents here. I think we'll see lots of classic, non-Princess figures at least while the Princess minidolls are around. My guesses? Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Minnie are shoe-ins. And I feel like it'd only be right if Mickey came with a pluto accessory. I mean, the Simpsons minifigure series gave us the whole family each time. Winnie the Pooh (with the bumblee girl's honey pot?) and Tigger (with the tiger girl's new tail piece) My guess, like others' is that it'll be focused on classics. Peter Pan and Tinkerbell. Hook's a possibility, too. I could see Tinkerbell being a full-scale figure, given that she has her own line of movies. Alice and the Mad Hatter would be great choices. Baloo and Mowgli? Cruella? Pinocchio? Scrooge McDuck? Robin Hood? It's also Disneyland's 60th anniversary this year. It'd be interesting if they do a set like the Disneyland castle to go along with this series. It'd make sense, then, that they make this line of figures more like the theme park representation. All in the same scale, despite the character. Which opens it up to a minifig Pluto, Chip, and Dale. If that's the case, though (and this is all wishful thinking), I'd love a normal boy and girl with a mickey balloon and mickey ears accessories! And if it was park-focused, it'd be cool to get representations of different rides (hitchhiking ghost from haunted mansion or a pirate from pirates of the caribbean or a skipper from the jungle cruise or a country bear). But, obviously, this is all just speculation on my part. I've never been so interested in seeing a lego series before, though!
