Can anyone give me a rundown of the pros and cons of each in terms of making custom minifigures? Do transparent vinyl stickers work fairly well on lighter surfaces, and how dark a surface can you apply them to before it starts becoming difficult to see the design?

Fair enough. Granted I likely didn't read around as much but this is the first time I've come across anything other than waterslide decals. There's a similar issue with white waterslide ones, but I'd guess waterslide decals are thinner than vinyl. If you don't mind, I have a couple of questions regarding vinyl stickers. Firstly, have you tried using transparent vinyl decals and how do they work out? How dark a surface can you use them on before the designs start to become harder to see? Secondly, do you use any kinds of ink sealant or varnish after printing/applying to your figures, or is it as simple as printing and sticking? Thirdly, how do they look/feel? Those pictures are helpful but even with my current setup they can look fairly out of place at times. And do they feel like good figures? And finally, how durable are the stickers? I'm not planning to leave them out in the rain or anything, but do they hold up fairly well and can they be peeled off? And if anyone else in this thread can give a very brief summary of waterslide decals vs vinyl stickers that'd be lovely.

I've been printing mine on standard waterslide inkjet paper. Would you recommend vinyl ones over that?

Nice figures. I've tried decalling a couple of figures (Jay Garrick, for instance) but the decals have a tendency to feel slightly sticky after they're applied. Any advice to fix that?

Thanks for the info. I'd certainly try one myself but I'm still not convinced I have the artistic ability to apply a decal, so I'm not sure I'd manage sculpting out a hand.

Nice, those look pretty awesome. Hopefully we'll get a chance to get them without needing to get the full set. If you don't mind my asking, how did you make that infinity gauntlet? Is it entirely custom or did you just tweak an already-existing piece?

1 - This blog kept a good catalog for a while, but since around last summer they've been doing less of it so it's slightly outdated. https://mybrickstore.blogspot.co.uk/p/minifigures.html I'm sure people in this thread will be happy to help you find a particular figure if you want one, or give advice about the quality of a particular wave. Regarding brands, SY and Decool traditionally are the best, Xinh has gotten very good (on par with official at times) though their earlier ones (around Age of Ultron and before) were not as good. Pogo has also gotten fairly good lately, though their earlier figures weren't. LEPIN are good at sets, but be warned, their minifigures are terrible. 2 - I don't tend to have favourite sellers, but in my experience anything going wrong with an order is fairly rare. Either way the site is pretty good at stepping in and getting you your money back if something does go wrong. I'm unable to check for a seller for your problem of lepin v minifigs as Ali is currently crashing my browser and I've not figured out how to fix it. 3 - I'd recommend not putting in any really big orders or with one particular seller, just in case something goes wrong. It's rare for it to happen in my experience but better safe than sorry. 4 - Here is a list assembled by palandir in June. I realise I'm sounding like a broken record in this thread, but if you browse the Chinese forums, have you come across any news of the reprints of the Xinh Atom/Zoom wave that were rumoured a few weeks back?

Don't know about that store specifically, but for the time being should something go wrong then the site is fairly good at getting you your money back. And I pay via normal visa. I don't save my card details though, though that's just in case someone guesses my password rather than the site.

I think seeing as every figure I've ever bought from China came with at least one spare hand, being Skywalkered is fixable.

Well mine does freeze when it happens, chrome just shuts off. Like one second I'll be browsing and the next I'll be looking at my desktop.

The site seems stable enough for me, but it just dies when I start browsing it for some reason.

I'm debating putting together a custom hawkgirl minifigure, but the helmet seems to me to be the most difficult part to figure out. Does anyone have any recommendations for parts, either official or custom which could be used for it? I don't mind doing a bit of modifying of another part for it but my artistic ability is essentially 0 so it'd have to be a relatively simple change.

Hey folks, just discovered this thread. Is there any chance someone would be able to doodle up a decal for the torso of the CWs Jay Garrick? There are a fair few figures I'm interested in making, but I don't want to ask too much of people on here.

It's a weird choice yeah. And it looks like they took the design out of the Lego Batman 3 game (or copied someone who did). Just a shame we don't have a decent Lightning Lad. I still really hope we get reprints of that wave. EDIT: I stand corrected. It comes out of the recent animated film.

SY won't. But seeing as we're looking at different companies which rip off others for a living, it could happen if we convince them there's profit in it.

That's unfortunate. Still, I suppose even if it seems too good to be true, even on AE, then it probably isn't. Seconded the inquiry about the reprinted figures. Has anyone here who browses chinese forums on this (or any other media) heard anything?

Does anyone know what brand it is? Kopf brand have certainly done one of these, but I'm skeptical of their quality.
