Profit is not inherently unethical. Some of the massive markups are. The fact that someone ends up paying a huge markup does not justify it as an ethical price.

The whole topic has gotten off track. Also, not everyone supports this kind of capitalism. There is such a thing as ethical behavior.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
x105Black replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I may not care for a Ninjago series, or even a Batman series, but I would love to see a Star Wars series. I hope that is next. -

So the best year for pricing was 2014, it seems. How did those sets compare, in terms of quality?

A single red brick would be an idea, but that doesn't mean it would be suitable for Ideas. -

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 16 Rumors and Discussion
x105Black replied to 8BrickMario's topic in Special LEGO Themes
That would be awful, but at least it would save me some money. I'm unlikely to like more than a couple from each of those series. -
I think the Resistance X-Wing looks better then Poe's black and orange one. I also love the Lor San Tekka minifigure. I think he looks great. Still, I'm not interested in ships, so I'll probably just BrickLink the minifigures I want. I'm more interested in locations, and the Encounter on Jakku set looks more like junk than the items that are traded there. Unkar Plutt looks pretty good, but Teedo really should have had short legs. He looks so wrong with normal legs. The head mold is good, though.

LEGO Ideas Discussion
x105Black replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That's one of the 2 biggest problems. The other is that people don't know the difference between a set and an incoherent random mess of bricks and minifigures. In other words, some projects are way too good for Ideas, and others are way too bad. -

I agree. The white wookiee still has red and green on his bandolier, though. As I said earlier, at least the colors look kind of subtle, but it would have been better in the traditional colors.

The only molded animal pieces are the legs.

The Encounter on Jakku set at $60 is far better than the previous reported prices, but it's just ugly. I really wanted that set to be good, but I don't like how it turned out at all. The Luggabeast looks terrible, and eats up the piece count. The white wookiee in the Advent Calendar looks great, but I wish he didn't have red and green printing on his strap. Almost ruins it for me, but it's subtle enough that I think I can manage. It's the Christmas themed minifigures that usually ruin the Advent Calendars for me. I like some of the minifigures in other sets, like Lor San Tekka, and whoever Naare is, but I don't think I'll be buying these underwhelming sets. BrickLink will have to do.

I'm not generally a huge fan of DC or Superman, but I have to admit that this is really very nice! I love the landscaping, the river really adds a lot to the scene. Also, the transparency is perfect for this project. The lighting looks wonderful, too. I also like the smaller details, like the cave and Zod. Great job!

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion

I'm just saying we can't use that picture as a parameter. It shows a bunch of short characters and a bunch of normal characters all in scale together. I think we'll see the short characters in scale with each other, and then the other characters in scale with each other, all centered around the typical minifigure. So I think Donald and Hook will both be normal sized minifigures, even though Hook is fairly tall and Donald is very short.- 4,155 replies
