I just saw the new hairpiece from the Mulan like new Disney farytale and unfortunately that hairpiece is not suitable for Cara Dune :( as its the SJW version haircut with half of the head shaved, Caras version is styled, the hair on one side is made into a bride. Here the minifig has printed the part of the shaved head so on Caras fig it would look even worse. Anyone can suggest a custom version with proper hair and armprint (ideally sold within EU)? Seems we will not get a correct Cara Dune fig and ill rather spend my money on a good custom.

Brickbuild at a small model has always its limitations. I cant imagine a better rancor with brickbuild than we received in Jabbas Palace. And this set would get the most out of 30eur with 2 mando armors, Baby Yoda and a Bantha with a Tusken - easy multiple buys - but im afraid that they cant think that way anymore. BTW it still can be that V-35 (or similar model) which was used by the people of Mos Pelgo to get to the Krayt Dragon lair - it was only seen in the distance. If its the ITT, then i hope for a proper Cara with new hair piece and arm print tatoo and correct skin tone. -

that would be an insta buy for me, give it a new Bantha mold which is long overdue and ill buy it multiple times -
Purchased the instructions think 2years ago. Im somewhere in the middle of the work now. So with my speed of build it will be on time for me to finish the interior and power functions :)

So far i would BL Garindan, Pona and Evazan and build the cantina from own bricks just for fun. Rest is lame and lazy. Lets wait for the Ninjago set if there will be any set i would buy day 1. If those 3 figs go for too much then i wait for the cantina to go to 250Eur the same way as the CC did. -

Its because i would very much like to see a set where i will be just "shut up and take my money" meme, but seems like Lego is doing what they can to avoid it. Its hard for a long time collector to see what the 3rd parties and sculptors are able to produce for custom figs and there is a TON of figs we still dont have, yet we are running in circles with the same figs over and over. Also the price is getting ridiculous. Last time i was really excited to purchase a set day 1 was with UCS Slave 1 where the set did it right and clicked all the check boxes - full arm print Boba, extra CC Trooper, minifig scale vehicle, new bigger cockpit piece - all i wanted was fulfilled (unfortunately the set was sold out in the store on day 1 when i got there and btw its a 2h ride there and then 2h back - so i purchased the cockpit 2x and few special parts and build my own one in different paint scheme while waiting on the original to be restocked) No, its not a fact of life, i simply dont buy more SW lego until we have something really new - its legos problem to ignore the long term collectors needs - they will sell less products, ill spend the money elsewhere (transformers Earthrise has a strong line currently). In the past the evolution of figures was really rapid, a new version was far superior and the build as well, now we get a slightly different print for a figure whose print was already perfect. Instead of getting really new figures of characters we dont have (hello Aunt Beru). Check this one from 2015 https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-10024/IScreamClone/mos-eisley-cantina/#comments So i really hope the ninjago city will be a set that i could pick up the day 1, If i were a bigger HP fan, i would pick Diagon Aley -> but that has to wait. -

Its good they get rid of the wrong X-34Lukes Landspeeder which has insufficient windshield which they were not able to fix even the last time. V-35 speeder is a nice change. Wondering if it was inspired by this https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-8879/RenegadeClone/v-35-courier-landspeeder/#parts The second speeder Ubrikkian 9000 is stupid - i dont have a problem with the "real" vehicle, but the way lego is doing the windows is bad. Dont understand why didnt they just picked up some half sphere transparent piece and printed it so that it would be possible to actually see inside/outside through the 4 window ? It would look better and save some piece count. -

My point is that an argument that its for kids and its a playset so they need to have the ability to replay the scenes does not hold. 350E is not a gift to a kid from a regular parent - i keep hearing that its starts to be difficult for a lot of people in US to have 400 at hand in case of unexpected situations (and i thought i live in a poor country). Sets with Luke and Obi are still on shelves. They could put more unique aliens to justify a purchase for long term collectors like me. Now i will have to wait on a min of 100e discount like with CC OR to BL just the figs i need. All the other things (dewbacks, bricks) i already own, so i could build the cantina right the moment they put the instructions for download "stop accepting its fine to pay the price of gold for still getting plastic" - a 1/4 OZ Gold coin is now like 440Eur so its start to be close Design is maybe OK, they were such designs already in the MOC community. Main selling point for every bigger set are minifigs - thats the reason i did not purchased UCS ISD for 450. Diagon Aley is a nice set and seems to me its really a better value for the money. Also have to wait on the Ninjago city expansion. Bo Shek would be an easy to make character - no new mold required just a pilot uniform in different color and a fitting face, even the old male hair piece could be fitting for him. Why couldnt this set have several more figs ? Maybe we really need SW CMF exactly for such obscure but easy to make characters. Well wake me up when we get there :) -

Not really the best possible selection for this set for a 350 Eur price point: 1. Kardue'sai'malloc/labria = devil guy - will depend on how they made the head, could be a good figure and also a question is if that headpiece will be an extra one as with the zabraks 2. Elis Helrot = next to devil guy - its probably the saurin, hope its not the same mold as for trandoshan 3. Dr Evazan - OK fig, easy to made - should already appear in a smaller set 4. Ponda Baba - nice headsculpt but missing armprint (similar to snowspeederpilot in UCS) and dualmold legs + print 5. Kabe = the bat - lazy reuse of the existing parts instead a new nice mold for a Chadra-fan 6. Momaw Nadon = Hammerhead - reused, easy job, but i understand that this is a important figure to be in the cantina 7. Garindan = The spy with elephant face - curious how the head will be made, could be a good fig and a needed one, could be then reused for Mando Ep1 scene with the other Kubaz 8. Het Nkik? = Jawa - have min 50 of them, hope it will be a really unique print 9. Wuher - was in previous set and actually missing in the 2014 cantina, so they milked uz again for another 40 just to get Wuher 10. -11. Stormtrooper - its Sandtrooper, hope its not a reused fig from previous set, i want to have some diversity in my 20fig sandtrooper squad 12. Greedo - lets see if its a different collor / style head to at least increase the diversity or Rodians, sad no armprint as the one from the original cantina - lazy move 13. Han - we should get one similar to the CC - doublemold legs but now in blue and a red stripe (which btw should have appeared already in the reissued Death Star) 14. Chewbacca - OK whatever, have tons of Chewies figs 15. Luke - was he really necessary in this set ? 16. Obi Wan - was he really necessary in this set ? 17. C3po - was he really necessary in this set ? 18. R2D2 - was he really necessary in this set ? 15-18 - we get those several times already, this set is for collectors and not children, they either have all those figs OR can buy sets which re still on the market with those figs -> those figs are taking slots for other interesting aliens 19. - 21. Bith - have 6, every true collector and fan of Tatooine purchased 2 cantinas in 2014, but seems its a mandatory fig for those who didnt purchased previous cantinas So is the fig selection really so good ? Wioslea is not that interesting looking alien as she was too covered - its only more interesting for those who have her action figure Muftak was a good choice, pity they did not make the mohawk piece on the previous Talz from clone wars removable. I named some of my wish aliens in previous comment. If not, then its 1less fig to BL for me. Need to wait for detailed pictures, but seems they were really cheap on arm print and dual molds as usual and i really don understand this policy for 100-600 Eur sets in compare to CMF bags where u get a full job for just 4Eur - arm/leg print , dualmolds even new hair molds in one bag ...... -

If u were collecting and playing STAR WARS Customizable Card Game from Decipher back in 1995 u would know all those aliens (in Cantina and in Jabbas Palace) as well. Therefore im disappointed not to see some other interesting aliens like defel and shistavanen species (specially defel which can warp light around him to make himself invisible - would love to see that ability in live action), also the 4armed Nabrun Leids (there is not enough 4armed aliens in SW lego collection), arcona with his triangle head, gothal - 2horned species used widely in Rebels show and many more -

AT-AT - have some of the old ones, nothing new, still system scale, pass, have an close to UCS scale build for my Hoth MOC Final Duel - have the old one, bought on sale - pass for the new one IT-S - overpriced, i ignore ST, boriong figs, maybe BL some torsos if it will be chep on BL - easy pass Grievouse SF - have the previous one with the Mon Cal jedi - that was a better set, easy pass Razor Crest - just one interesting minifig + baby Yoda - will BL Greef Carga and baby Yoda or wait for them in a smaller set, have instructions for UCS Razor to build - pass due to uninteresting fig selection compared to the price mosaics - super easy pass, just go to legostore and buy the PaB with the 1x1 round plates - the pieces that are extra free in each set they appear so in time u have a lot of them free Baby Yoda statue - u can build him from the regular Yoda - there was even a free instruction set, but maybe ith some discount i will buy him in time, for now the plush one from Mattel is good for me So maybe for a newb in SW collecting, its more difficult to pass. For a long term SW Lego fan - easy pass for a lot of sets. They are more companies fighting for my cash, ill pick the best for the money. Lego has to try harder. -

Thats ok as long as its not the Lukes Landspeeder (X-34) with still incorrect windshield. The new one seems to be V-35 which is nice. Wonder how good it will be, if it will be better than the MOC and if it will use a new windshield piece. -

Why ? So far no good sets, except the clone wars one (because of minifigs). But Diagon Alley + Ninjago City expansion is already a possible attack on the budget. Will prioritize If the leak is legit, not so impressed so far by the Cantina set. Kabe (Chadra-Fan) and an Ithorian are nice but a bit lazy - especialy Kabe - did this already from the exiting parts. So far only 1 new molded alien - Ponda. Hope this is not another fiasco as the Hoth UCS set that was just a big overpriced compilation of Hoth sets. V-35 is a nice change for speeder. I hope for more new molds, a Bantha, maybe a Dewback again (no need for me as i have like 6 already) In the left corner of the leaked picture with buildings. In white color. The mocs are Black and Tan.. -
[MOC] Star Wars THE MANDALORIAN - The mudhorn
STARHAWK replied to KevFett2011's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Wasnt able to quickly figure out the bottom jaw, but then i realized that your version can not tilt the head down and its straight (i assume) so i went wit a different solution and now i can tilt the head down and even to sides. But the head is now 1stud longer. And of course i did not purchased that set where those eyes were (at a discounted price) as i thought i dont need it. Well now my dianoga is without an eye and i can not finish this mudhorn UPDATE: Good news, the eye was also in 2 other sets, and i definitely have that Elves one where it should be exactly 2pcs - one regular and one as extra - now the task will be to find it and hope that my daughters did not lost this small piece :D -

Good for u. But there is a lot of people who did not enjoyed ST and they vote with valets and dont support ST related stuff and Disney is already recognizing it - hence the Mandalorian show and many OT stuff. So we will see which camp has bigger purchasing power on the amount of ST product released. -

After the lego holiday special, i understand the figure selection in the Advent calendar and it will be a +1 reason NOT to buy it. The cant let the ST go ... Hope the sales will be low so that they will let the ST finally go away. At the moment, im happy wit not so good SW sets (im lucky i dont need 501 so much and i have all previous Ahsokas, so i can wait with the tank). Transformers from Hasbro are perfect at this moment so my money can go there. Waiting on the Cantina (impatiently refreshing instagram) and now on Ninjago City addition - whether they will attack my valet or not :) -

In my case, it was in my 25 when i finished University and got a decent paid job when is tarted to spend more. Now i have kids and too much lego with less room for it. I i have to spend less because there is no place to store it. I collect slowly since 1999 when i was a student and the SW line just started - it was about that time i started to care more about lego - kind of exiting the dark age. But seems its really depending on the country and economical habits. Here the study is almost free (was completely free when i studied at university), now there are some payments but u dont need a loan equal to a mortgage for a family house to study on university. Who is then purchasing the expensive custom figs and accessories from FireStar, BrickArms, BrickForge etc ? AFOLS like minifigs also. And when i pay a premium for a bunch of bricks i want also a lot of premium figs which would not get it into regular sets (so many cool imperials we could get with the ISD like Ysanne Issrd with her red uniform, other Grand Admirals etc...) -

Read the post above with explanation. Possibly the difference between US and Europe. I have two 6y girls. My wife did not worked until they were 4y - she was taking care of the kids full time. Seems really a difference in the whole social system. I assume in US you have a lot of expenses to take care of the toddler while you are working ? But if you are interested to know more, i can create a separate Off Topic thread here under the OT category to explain more. -

Time yes, money no - teenage is more expensive. Yes, that has to be a regional thing and a difference between US and Europe. Where i live, mother (or father) can take a maternal leave for up to 3years which is even paid by the government if you were employed before. Its not too much but batter then loose the second income at all. Toddlers then need just diapers, few toys not so much food, clothes which can be second hand or inherited from older kids in family etc. A teenager needs lot more and lot expensive toys (computer, smartphone, lots of legos), expensive brand clothes as he/she will refuse to war second hand because of the other kids, school is more expensive for them etc. I have 2 twins girls, i was purchasing a ton of legos when they were toddlers, now i have to start tighten my budget as they will grow older :) Now back on track. What hinders them to put more minifigs in all the UCS sets ? What is the production cost of a minifig when no new mold is needed, and even if its needed. CMF is 4Eur per fig which has new molds, doublemolded arms and legs. So isnt it smarter to put some decent amount of exclusive figs in the UCS set ? They could sell it to people who already have that set or wont be normally interested in that set because: If there is 1 exclusive minifig in a 400Eur set, u just BL it for 50 Eur and save the money and space and eventually u are able to build that set out of your own bricks so it does not bother u. But what if there are 6 exclusive figs ? Would u spend 300Eur on BL for all the figs or just purchase the entire set for 400Eur ?? So what is the production cost of including 6 exclusive minifigs in a 400E set compared to the benefit of increased sales of that set because also people who own the previous edition will buy it and also minifig collectors will buy it and sell the model or scrap it for parts. If cmf is 4Eur then 6 figs are 24Eur extra in fig for a set that will be difficult to sell for its full price and stores have to discount it. -

For the ISD, i have the previous UCS and that seems almost perfect for me, just need to build a landing platform for it and that exactly what i love on minifig scales UCS. U either display them alone or build a nice scenario with minifigs around them.So am again curious how will they handle this. -

I have the same opinion. Would like to see improved Gunship of similar size as the system one. A bigger one would be probably a pass for me unless there is a ton of perfect minifigs in it that would make to Bricklinking them separate unnecessary compared to the overall price of the set. So im also afraid based on the wing problem that it will be too oversized. If so, im curious if the idiots in the marketing really get it now, unlike with the ISD. Dam u want to sell a 300-400USD plastic toy, how big a problem it is to tose in some 10minifigs which are sold 3-4eur per piece and make the set irresistible for purchasing just because of the extra unique figs and not just one but 10. People would buy it a lot more just for the figs even if they had no room for the model itself as Bricklinking all the figs would be half of the model price. But Nooooooooo idiot marketing people are not able to understand this. Then the sets are heavily discounted like the ISD. They thought that after the Falcon, people would buy ISDs like hotcakes, but that was not the scenario. Falcon was sold out for an entire year - it was impossible to get it on the first christmas year it was released - scalpers got their for 800 and sold right away for 1000-1200 with 200-400 easy profit. With ISD there was no problem getting it on the release and the subsequent AFOL day, now its everywhere and its discounted minimum 100Eur from the original price to have even a chance to be sold.
