It will be interesting to see how accurate this rumor is. Feels like at this point we are so desperate for any kind of rumor that we will believe anything remotely plausible
-
My fault. I should have been clearer. Rumors of the what the set actually is instead of the release date. Also, I was just trying to spark some more conversation
-
Forget all this release date talk/debate! Where's the rumors!?! I'm holding out for a town hall

Yes Yes Yes! Finally we get another house for the WV families! Love the design and layout. I'm very pleased and this is a must buy for me and my village.

I bought a damaged box set for 10% off with the idea of using it in the WV. Its still in the box because I'm unsure of the scale as well. Might try to find a decent rebrickable for it or just sell it.

This is shaping up to be an awesome and expensive year for WV fans! Home Alone ideas set $250 This new Santa Sleigh set for $40-50 The Penguin Seasonal model $15 The normal WV release for around $100 I guess its a good problem to have!

I just read the same post. Hard to know if its legit with no images though

I usually wait until November to order my WV in order to get the holiday GWP. Kinda nervous about it this year with all of the product shortages though but I still think its worth the risk.

So they probably should've called this the Elf Bunkhouse. Seems like that would be a more accurate description. I'll take it either way though =) The interior is really nice and I absolutely love the triple bunks. Still a little disappointed at the lack of different torsos and legs but I plan to mix in all my other elves anyway. The price point at $99 was predictable and seems fair enough given the reindeer mold accounts for a chunk of the budget. Just waiting to see when to purchase in order to get the Dickens GWP.

I went with the Star Wars advent this year for that exact reason. Plus the sweater prints are amazing!

Initial thoughts - I actually like this set a lot more than I was expecting. - I think it will fit in quite well with Santa's workshop and the small elf shed from years past. I may even decide to remove all of the fantasy buildings and create a second winter village with them now that there's 3 buildings to work with - The architecture of the build fits in quite well with all of the other sloped roofs. I know some people are probably sick of them but I think the consistency helps in a large layout. - The reindeer mold looks great as we saw when it leaked earlier and even though it only includes 1, it should open up the option to buy more on bricks and pieces or bricklink - I know I'm in the minority but the black box isn't a problem for me. They are actually beginning to grow on me - I wish they would have included red hats on the elves just for variety sake - I could have done without another tree build....wish they would have used that piece count on a different side build or another reindeer Overall I'm pleased with this set based on initial evaluation. I would have preferred a more standard village building (town hall etc.) but I guess that just leaves something else to look forward too next year.

40423 Halloween Hayride. I'm going to add the tractor to my winter village i think
-
Totally agree. I do like the snow fort wall and the minifigures though. I think some of the prints are new

Don't be afraid to share or ask questions. I've always found the Winter Village forum to be full of like minded friendly people

I store them completely assembled in an assortment of plastic bins and cardboard boxes. Each year I try to take a couple of older sets and unassemble/wash/reassemble. It keeps the dust from getting too bad on them. I also have to replace parts occasionally that get brittle. These are the realities of a collection that over 10 years old now!

I did the exact same. I just picked up the new HP set 75966 Room of Requirement for a couple of additional "ice" animals. It also happens to have great pieces to build other WV buildings with

I'll be curious to see if we find out about this years winter village set first or the Harry potter D2C (rumored diagon alley). I'm actually holding some hope that it might actually fit in with the winter village. I know some people use some of the buildings from the old diagon alley set in their winter village.

I was hoping for something non-fantasy related but an elf clubhouse sounds kinda fun. It would be a nice addition to Santa's workshop which always seemed a little skimpy to me anyway. It also might work well with the little elf shed that was a gift with purchase a few years ago.

Agreed. It definitely wouldn't be such a big deal if it weren't for the single set release each year. Star Wars and other themes can do set remakes constantly because there is still always some new sets released as well. I remember being so disappointed after waiting all year only to find out the set was a toy shop remake. TLG got a ton of bad feedback so I doubt that will happen again but I would love to see them re-release an older WV set in the spring wave.

HELP! Looking for Certified Professional Instructions
Blackpool replied to Blackpool's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I have not yet but will definitely try -
So recently I learned about Lego Certified Professional promotional sets. I had no idea there was such a thing. They seem to be extremely rare due to very limited releases. I am trying to find instructions for the Christmas Elf Cafe that released in Hong Kong in 2016. I know its a long shot but I've looked everywhere I can think and have never found them. The set goes for $500-$600 on Ebay but thats simply not an option for me so I'd like to try and bricklink a version of this. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have similar thoughts @Klaus-Dieter TLG hasn't released back to back fantasy themed WV sets so I don't expect that to happen this year. I'm personally thinking a town hall or police station this year. As usual I'll be happy with anything as long as its not a re-release. I am slightly worried that after 10 years of WV they are going to start repeating sets more often like in Star Wars

Pretty cool looking set! I'll probably wait on picking up the gingerbread house until this gift with purchase is available. If I'm remembering correctly they usually have at least one seasonal gift with purchase starting in October
-
Like some of you I found the news of a gingerbread house to be somewhat disappointing. I was hoping for a winter town square or village town hall/courthouse or something. However, upon seeing the pictures I'm actually pretty pleased. Its simply a gorgeous set and offers a lot of potential if you want to convert it. It could easily become a candy shop with some simple changes to the interior. Another option is to make it into another cottage by taking off the candy decorations and changing out the candy cane elements. I'm still undecided about how I'll integrate it into my village but I will definitely be buying it.

I was initially pretty disappointed when the rumors came out about a gingerbread house. I'm happy to see that I was completely wrong. This thing looks absolutely stunning! It should looks amazing next to Santas workshop.
