  1. Maybe the admins might let us know if there are plans for a 10th anniversary logo. In the meantime I can check with Duq if last year's embroidered t-shirt supplier is still around.
  2. Is there a requirement to organise t-shirts/ shirts again this year? I haven't seen any special 10th anniversary eurobricks logo. I thought I'd mention it now because we usually raise this so close to the event itself that we end up scrambling to get the items ordered and delivered in time for the event.
  3. On my earlier visits to Billund I stayed at the hotel beside the airport terminal and Alfenz and I walked to the park which is near where we are staying. While the airport and cargo terminals are near the park the passenger terminal building is on the opposite side of the runway which means that if you choose to walk you must walk around the perimeter fence. I recollect it to be at least a 20 minute walk which can be quite pleasant if the weather is nice - there are paths. However, we haven't been the most fortunate with weather in Billund at previous events. If its raining its a fairly exposed wet walk. There are taxis - we've used them and I recall seeing buses - not sure where they run to but I can't imagine a bus service to the airport not going to the town itself (and thus passing where you want to go - beside Lalandia)
  4. If you have instructions I'd also be very interested in seeing them as there is a LEGO exhibition planned later this year for the Titanic museum in Belfast (which is located on the site where the Titanic was built). Something like this would no doubt be of interest.
  5. I have a number of pictures from Legoworld Copenhagen 2014 on my Flickr page. Here's one: IMG_6443 by Dfenz, on Flickr
  6. Here is another recently created MOC finished just in time for Legoworld. Its a LEGO cinema in the shape of a grand piano and uses lots of chrome technic connectors and transparent pieces. It has a nightclub under the cinema section. Unusual features include LED underfloor lighting, curved walls and staircase, sliding shutters and an opening roof (grand piano lid) that allows the screen to be viewed. The cinema screen can play a LEGO Batman movie which is visible from the outside thanks to the unusual piano shape of the building and opening roof. Also of interest is the Bfenz built tree which uses lots of rare white tree limbs. They don't come cheap. IMG_6315 by Dfenz, on Flickr Here is another pic showing more of the interior. 7. This is my latest MOC. Its based on St Ann's church in Dawson Street Dublin although its not an exact replica. It took about 5 weeks to complete. It still needs some minor decals but the heavy lifting is done. It has lots of 'stained-glass' windows and has three separate sets of LED lights. I've used the wheel in the General Grevious bike to create the central window. The mosaic in the courtyard pavement isn't my own design - its based on a design in the Beautiful Lego book. The adjoining building has yet to be equipped with furniture but Bfenz is working on that. Its also got lighting, this time built into ceilings and walls via a cavity section which also feeds staircase and rear security lights. 8. I am there for all days.
  9. Can you put me down for 1 x 30213, 30215 and 30244? Please advise me of price also.
  10. If you are based in Denmark presumably Legoworld Copenhagen in mid-February would already be in your calendar? There is a big fanzone at that event with lots of MOCs.
  11. Here is the latest MOC which I built for an exhibition this (Halloween-ish) weekend. Its our meeting place in Dublin, jack nealon's pub of Capel Street. This is the modular version which is built to a 32 stud baseplate depth to allow trains run behind it. There is an extension piece which extends the depth to 48 studs. At present the interior is being designed so no interior pics just yet. IMG_6218 by Dfenz, on Flickr
  12. As promised here is a picture of the new rear section of the building above the subway. Its based on the Dublin Department store Clerys IMG_6146 by Dfenz, on Flickr
  13. Bfenz and I will be attending. Accommodation is not required.
  14. Well I could speculate that it was because LEGO thought we needed a bail-out but I suspect its more to do with the UK price of £139.99. Irish prices sometimes approximate to UK prices. I'm happy with the €159.99 price plus free postage.
  15. My number was 15138 - from LEGO shop at home dispatched to Ireland
  16. If you are spending that much I would get the Merlin annual pass and get the 10% discount on shop purchases - in fact I already did earlier in the year and we even got a booklet that had a one time use 20% off coupon. Not sure if they are still given out with the passes but the pass will pay for itself especially if visiting the park more than one day.
  17. It might not be immediately obvious but the temporary office building uses PF train tracks on their sides for structural support. I intend to replace these with a more conventional (modular and stronger) structure. It won't be an office building and colours yet to be decided. The project took about 3/4 months to plan and build and I've lost count of the number of bricks that I acquired for it. Its amazing how quickly dark red headlight bricks can be gobbled up. To answer one of the questions above, its the double decker tram that is mine. The second single decker tram in my flickr stream is by fellow eurobricker Daisy Duq. In addition to the old style 'emergency' lighting that I can flick on and off, all of the window displays can be illuminated by pressing in a section of the canopy by one stud. The mechanisms are invisible until activated, so much so that I had to place fez hat features on the canopy to tell me where to turn on the lights. The central column, subway entrances (platform x2 and street) and adjacent building can all be illuminated using discrete switches. There is a switch in the subway station that controls additional 9v lighting at department store entrance level and the two vending machines on the subway platform. Unfortunately it was too bright to capture these in a photo. When I get around to taking a night time pic I'll post it. As has been noted, the brown benches are made primarily with brown and black droid arms - I'd an excess of these and was looking for something to do with them. Regarding the window fronts, Bfenz built 5 displays. All of the displays can be swapped out and the fifth, for kitchen appliances, will be used next time.
  18. Yes.
  19. I saw it today - it does have haz-mat guys now.
  20. Here is a Department store that I built for a display this weekend in Dublin. I had an old Dublin tram running outside it and a seaside promenade park adjacent to it. The window displays and the hanging baskets in the street lights were done by Bfenz. It has a temporary office building rear to the building above the subway which I intend to update before the next exhibition in October. IMG_6074 by Dfenz, on Flickr
  21. This looks very well. A few haz-mat collectible minifigs would go well with it. I look forward to seeing this next week 'in the brick' at the upcoming brick.ie display in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin.
  22. What kind of AFOL are you? I'm one of the founder members of the brick.ie LUG in Ireland and a site admin there. You could say I'm active. I'm the brick.ie Lugbulk co-ordinator and actively post there aswell as here. Some of the Irish media stuff has come my way also. There are a relatively small number of AFOLs in Ireland and I'd be of the view that some people are less at ease than others when it comes to meeting up in the real world let alone bringing MOCs to public displays. I have built some MOCs and for the past few years I've been bringing them to events we've participated at aswell as Skaerbaek and Legoworld Copenhagen in a personal capacity. Would you consider supporting more actively the online AFOL community (e.g. Eurobricks) as moderator, regulator (indexing, ...), making set reviews, etc.? If it wasn't too time consuming I might, maybe set reviews. Not sure what role I'd be good at other than perhaps a eurobricks event t-shirt organiser. I did a few set inventories for bricklink a few years ago before I discovered this site.
  23. Excellent work. I really like the interior aspects. These buildings can be a real labour of love as they are so large. I'm particularly interested in this model because by coincidence I've a large Irish department store practically finished for an exhibition next week here in Dublin. It too has window displays and an old double decker tram although it comes with a particular twist that means I haven't attempted to recreate the beautiful interior you have.
  24. I'm in the group photo. Bfenz and the children were still in the park as we were on a slightly different schedule. We hadn't yet picked up the bags from the bag collection point - its amazing what a 20% off coupon will do to attract eventee Fabrik PAB bags at just the right time at the checkout till! More than half the bricks were for other eventees! We didn't get home until after midnight on Sunday and I've yet to tackle that LOTR Orthanc Tower that some of us picked up. Well done to the organisation team for everything from the accommodation selection to the quiz. Bring on Billund 2014.
  25. Am I missing something or did the second map for our Munich visit on Friday ever get posted?
