Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Angeli replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
good, good, things are happening as planned.. buahahaha (evil laugh:) -
Hi Jason, fantastic moc Starting with Sisyphus then over to the Aviator, in last few days I've been studding your techniques carefully as I want to build "robot street" moc, with a lot of things moving from one power source As I am a total novice when tehnics are in question, your detailed descriptions and inside view have been of a lot of help :) As it will be loosely inspirited with your work, I can send you a link when it is done. I could have few extra questions also :) In any case, fantastic craftsmanship

[HELP] PF Motors and Gearing
Angeli replied to Angeli's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
thank you, guys -
Hi guys. I am making 1x2 48x48 diorama that will present an alien, robot city. A street with two houses. I would like to make it all movable, with a lot of tehnics gear and axle moving. In one of the houses I am going to put motor. Now, the gear will move just for purpose of moving, it will have no meaningful function (expt to move and to attract attention. I have few hundred of them, with ton of axel and all types of pins, lot of liftarms, tehnics bricks - etc, all that is needed. Now, the question: if there is no other task (lifting or similar), and the only task is moving per se, what motor will be enough? Should I split gear into two sections (pushed by two motors?) What motor should I buy? I will buy it via bricklink or in a 2015 tehnics set (please recommend one) Can you provide links with clever moving contraptions with gear, where gear is visible? Please note that I am a total beginner when tehnics is in question, but I am very experienced builder, so I hope learning will be fast and I will be able to adapt (resistance is futile:)) :)) :)) Some basic examples how bigger and smaller gear function together and what effects they can make would be wonderful I would also like to know how can I use one motor for two tasks (two groups of gear). Which brick to use for that Any additional advice is most welcomed I have a deadline for this moc - end of February I will have more questions :) 8. If I have one axle from the motor, and 7 things (flowers) that I need to rotate - how do I do that? Thay can rotate with same speed. My main question is how to multiply drive from one axle to 7 gears that are not very close ...hope I am making sense...

yes, they are in the "construction" folder, link is in previous post, but I will take few closeups and post them :)

In a land far far away, there was a kingdom... And in it, you can find all of Disney princesses :) and few friends :) Can you spot them all? Rapunzel, Gileta, Giselle, Aurora Merida, Anna, Elsa, Ariel Cindrella, Kida, Alice, Snowwhite Jasmine, Megara, Belle, Esmeralda Mulan, Pocahontas, Goldylocks, Tiana Wendy, Jane, Red Riding Hood, Gretel Daria, Dorothy, Moana, Eilonwy I know, they are not exclusively Disney princesses, but we know them, and love them, and they are part of fairytales :) Some other friends: Ramplstilskin, Pinokio, three little pigs, Turtle and the hound, Jack (giant hunter), Bambi For a bunch of main pictures, look here: link For details and how it was made, take a look here: link It's all original Lego. Notice the details, like this coin from Legoland ride: For individual princesses look here: link This is a part of moc-chain for big Lugs United convention we (rlug Beokocka) are organizing (for the forth time:) in Belgrade, Serbia :) We are building like crazy :) And I hope to surprise you with few more stuff on this, special themes subforum ;)

actually, as I build for exhibits, everything is VERY sturdy - the connections are such that they allow easy dismantle and easy packaging; I have custom made cardboard boxes size 50x50 studs (so 48x48 can fit easy with space for fingers); they are opening from the side, so it is easy to put in and out; they are sturdy so they can stack one on another; I have two types, 10 and 20 cm high. And 20 cm is very much, trust me, for moc :) all that is higher is detachable, and go to the other box. I need less then 5 minutes to set up this kind of moc up (look under there is aquarium made out of Lego, the same principle) I usually put up 1000 48x48 baseplates per exhibit, and I have to be proficient with building for transport, transporting and setting up :)_ Every box is numbered, and I have a team of guys from my lug that are proficient with moving boxes and helping with set up :) That is the only reason this moc is not crazy with curves - it was built for moving :)
-
Thanks, guys :) I had some more time for building, so I;ve added few things :) These are the guys that will populate this moc: I;ve just ordered a bunch over bricklink :) I was thinking of old school spaceship hovering - or tans neon green flying sourcer :) What do you think? :)

Pandora ;) Alien planet on 2 48x48 As usual, I used everything LEgo :) Duplo, clikits, Galidor, fabuland, what ever I can get my hands on :) Notice flowers made out of pots, clikits stars, sw heads, ninjago heads, foliage made out of Harry Potter wizard hats, and my personal easy-to-reckognese-me stamp: flowers made out of snakes :) The whole thing is made for special "aquarium stands" that have lights on them selves, and there is a exsample at the end Notice areound 20 Marsians and five Marsian comanders doing something in the moc :) oragne lake, and a huge insect flying :) You can find a lot of pictures here

Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Angeli replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
well, that's the spirit! :) the point is not to go to war ourselves, but to make two fractions go to war, and then we swoop and take care of what's left :) ona more not-roll-playing note, I've been very bussy last three years. I think that there is a good amount of around 10.000 inifigs that are in all type of dioramas, mostly fantasy castle and steampunk pirates, but also in (you will laugh) Chima layout :) I will present in action part of forum when I get the time, but Chima is one of my new favorite themes - I don;t use sets, only minifigs, but you can do a lot of crazy stuff with that theme - can;t wait to show off my Ice Chima castles, here is a little preview: Regarding contest in Nocturnus, there is a proposition few posts up about showing fortifications (stone, wood, magic. fruit, whatever:) and representations of your fraction meeting with Drow - simple wignetes - we could do this Until I get the facts straight regarding how the contests are done now on EB, there will be no rewards - for now. But, a lot of great stuff is to come, so, we should use this oportunity to build something small and fast, but pretty and interesting :) -
Thank you :) Check Suldanesselar, it is three times more larger and two times higher :)

man, that's a lot of Fantasy Era trols :) now I am off to brickling with hope that I will find 130 of them for 2e per head :) Edit, nope, they are 5-10e per head. I asked my guys to start looking, and if I can get the price 50% ower, I will buy 100. They will look fantastic on large scale mocs We (Beokocka rlug) are making, as a colaborative effort, big Steampunk siege of Gondor diorama for September, and your orcs gave me a great idea how to make it even more grandios In any case, after photoshoot, we are going to send them to misbehave in Avalonia, just for fun :) -
here are fe more details This moc is one of my most favorite ones :) There are so many details, I am trying to find all and present to you :)

Thank you :) btw, our mercenery troops are ready. We should send them as soon as possible to sharpen their skills on someone. Who do you reccomend? :) We calctulated losess no more then 35%. Don;t worry, they are only humans, easy to replace. Btw, this is one of four baseplates, totally the same. It is part of our lug's big community build :) -

Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Angeli replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
Great, we will need to meet and talk about next steps It would be great fun to start building, so fortification (magic barrier, stone walls etc) and meeting vignette would be a good start to wake up the guild, if it needs wakening up :) I would suggest, conquering the smaller area, smaller lords and merchants etc, and then, when we have gathered our strength, we attack the big ones! Let's start from the south, as north will be fighting with this new threat; Let's leave that Spire alone for now, we will need someone to fight for the guild when time comes; if we stretch ourselves on two fronts, we will not succeed. The Drow will add few cities to the glory of Nocturnus: Baldurs-Gate, Candlekeep, Icewind-Dale, Sshamath, Suldanessellar and Trademeet That are six very big cities :) I will be posting an army of 1000 fully armored mercenaries in a day of two, that is enough to go and besiege someone :) But for now, let us show that we have strong walls and magic, and meeting between your sigfig and a Drow representative. The builds will add points to our guild, and are easy to build (vignette, 8x8 studs) On a special note, I will be organizing first contest very soon, I just have to consult with moderators and admins how it is done now before announcing anything. But know this, the prizes will be veeeeeeery nice :) You can refresh your memory with those two Drow organized events: Warrior Beauty contest and Drow gladiator games. They were a ton of fun :) But for now, let me get to know all of you that are still active trough this mini Nocturnus vignette mocing :) This will help me to know who is who, and after that, we are going to find a way to make Nocturnus the leading guild in Historica :) Drow rule supreme! ...and yes, Nocturnians also :) And LordDan, thank you, very useful info. Link me with those important topics, please :)
