Yes, that's figma Link. And he's one of the best figures in my collection, and after noticing that Furno is actually left-handed, I just knew I had to put the two into a picture. Before anyone is asking: I do know that Link is right-handed in Skyward Sword, but I posed mine as a lefty mostly because I'm left-handed as well (and there aren't many video game heros around who are lefties). (btw, I already expected a few posts about Link in this review) As for Furno's oddly-shaped helmet: It looks actually very cool if you put the visor on it, and maybe I'm so harsh because I missed every set that contained Furno's original helmet, so I wasn't able to compare the two pieces. I'm also glad to read that you all enjoyed the jokes I made during that review. Except for the opening, I came up with most of them while writing the review. Aww, too bad.

My review for Furno XL is online. Read and enjoy it.

Sometimes, I have to wonder how heroic the heroes of the Hero Factory really are. I mean, sure, they fight all the baddies in the universe, but sometimes, their ways seem a bit... extreme. For example, take a look at Pyrox. This guy is a very small, "minotaur"-like fellow. And what does Hero Factory to stop him? They send Furno XL, a huge guy with fiery weapons, after him! Anyway, after Rocka and Stromer it's just fair that Furno also finally gets the XL treatment. How does he hold up against his rival and his mentor? Let's find out. Set name: Furno XL Set Number: 44000 Price: 19.99 Euro Pieces: 106 Year of release: Late 2012/Early 2013 Size class: Titan set The box bag Unlike the titan sets of the past two waves, Furno XL comes also now in a bag instead of a box. It does make sense from various perspectives, but I must admit that I consider bags a bit impractical to storage parts in them (though I would never say that the LEGO boxes are perfect for that either, but I'm used to do so). Furno looks already very nice on his bag, showing his neat tools and cape. Because you know, if you have to squish slimy brain slugs, make sure you look awesome while doing so. The back. If you remember my review from Breez, you know the drill: A teaser on the combiner, an ad for the new game (you get whopping 1000 game points for Furno), the 1:1 picture of the helmet demonstrates the flip-up feature of his visor and the grey section underneath contains all that legal stuff and choking hazards and such. Since I was totally psyched for the new pieces I forgot to make one of my typical "let's compare the new packaging with the packaging of an older set of similiar size" pictures. But this time I didn't forgot. While Furno's bag is slightly smaller than Stormer XL's box, it's still quite large. Oddly enough, it doesn't look that big next to the bag of a medium sized set. Enough about the bag, let's cut it open! The parts Man, counting pieces this time was a pain (I like to count them my own, alongside with using the parts list in the instructions). Anyway, Furno XL contains 106 pieces, including the cape which isn't on this picture (as long as I didn't count wrong). Alongside with a bunch of (trans) red shells he got some silver, some TECHNIC parts and a fair share of black and dark grey. Oh, his head is a brighter green than the one Breez has. New and interesting parts The shield wings. As you can see, it got both an inside and an outside, so if the Surge's new form in that trailer will use these as wings, he'll hopefully get a mirrored version of this piece. The detail on this piece is very nice, I also appreciate the fact that the two halves of the H in the center aren't that obvious as an H if you don't put them together. Is this piece actually new or is it a piece from the TECHNIC sortiment? Anyway, it's friggin' awesome. Furno uses it for his sword. This less blurry pic shows that you can put cross axles all the way through the holes on the side, but not in the center (as most of us probably already assumed). Are these little thingies new or originate them from the Ninjago line (or maybe some other line)? I don't know, but they look nice. Ah, the new blade. It looks great. I can't wait to get the blue version which Laval wields. The new transparent flame piece. Furno got 3 of them, and they look gorgeous. Thanks to their somewhat generic form they could also work as lightning or some sort of ice blades, and if the same video that showed Surge is any indication, we'll most likely get transblue versions of these things sooner or later. Furno's visor is transparent, but it comes with some neat printing to make Furno look even more knightly. That printing is also very vital, because without it... ...Furno's helmet looks just plain simple weird. I mean, seriously, does he got 3 jaws or what? The relatively small eye holes don't help much either. It looks less weird from the side though. But still, this helmet looks kinda ugly. And the connection works the same way as with Breez' helmet. Furno's cape looks like an oversized minifig cape. The other side fo it shines a bit in the light. I'd like to mention at this point that Furno's cape achieved something I didn't expect - it made taking pictures of a red set with my cam even more annoying. You know, red plastic looks already kinda weird on my cam, and the dark, light-absorbing cape led my camera to the assumption that there's not enough light around, no matter how many lights I directed at Furno. I tell you, some of the pictures were really a pain to take. If you're curios about the new head or the new armour, check my review of Breez out. A few pics from the instructions The cover, which clearly shows that Furno is a pyromaniac and kills the space slugs by setting the laboratory on fire. Once again, I must question the ideals and the motive of the so-called Hero Factory. Also, Furno apparently uses the remains of the slaughtered Pyrox to become even more fiery. How barbaric! Silly jokes aside, Furno's and Pyrox' combiner looks more like a beefed up Furno XL than a combination of the two. But that's not a bad thing, mind you. (Unless you want to consider the sudden urge to get Pyrox as well just for this combiner a bad thing - then of course, it's a bad thing) The build Just like every other set I've built in this wave so far, Furno's build starts with putting some stuff on his torso... ...but being a larger set means also he gets more stuff put on. And that's not even all yet, but for now, we start building... ...the legs! Furno's legs are built in the exact same way as Stormer XL' legs, except for a few minor differences, like using regular hero feet instead of those large ones that were exclusive to Stormer. One thing I find really weird about Furno's built is his shin armour. You could already tell from the bag and the front of the building instructions that he get the two 2.0 armours there, which aren't attached yet. Instead, the shin armour is one of the last parts you attach to Furno. Why so is beyond me. After attaching the legs to the torso, we get some TECHNIC building. It's not much, but it brings some variation into Furno's build. The TECHNIC thingy becomes Furno's back. At this point, Furno gets the cape, which is - strangely enough - attached underneath his shoulders. Then he gets arms... ...which get also some armour. Before he gets his weaponry, the building continues with his torso armour... ...his head... ...and the red shells on his torso. Then we start with the hilt of the sword. You can already see on this picture that Furno doesn't hold his weapon at the very tip - a small, but great improvement. It continues with the blade, one of the flame pieces and those spike things. After adding a trans-red shell to the hilt... ...it wanders to Furno's left arm. Then it's time to build the shield, which is a bit simpler than the sword. Take the two "wings", the flame pieces, a bit of TECHNIC, and it's done. After adding the shield to his right arm, he finally gets shin armour and thus, Furno XL is ready to hunt some slugs. The finished set Thanks to the cape, the silver armour, the printing on the visor and the design of his weaponry, Furno XL looks very knightly (which is fitting, since his enemy Pyrox looks demon-like). Since Furno uses a different design for his torso, he's much sleeker than Stormer XL, but they still share a few similiarites, like the legs and the position of his shoulders. A picture from his back. As earlier mentioned, it's weird that his cape is attached underneath his shoulders. His torso underneath the cape lacks back armour, but he doesn't look too hollow here due to his TECHNIC backpack. Playability Just as Stormer before him, Furno benefits greatly from the friction joints in his legs. However, he is slightly harder to pose since his feet are a bit sleeker. If you remember my review of Stormer XL, you'll know that one of my few complaints with Stormer were his somewhat short arms. Furno remedies that problem... to some extent. His arms are slightly longer than Stormer's, but his shoulders seem a bit too far at his back and the red shells on his torso armour tend to get into the way when you try to aim his arms straight forward. It's not terrible though, mostly because his impressive sword and his mighty shield helpt to distinguish that issue, and it also depends on how you pose Furno's arms. Size comparison with Breez. I excluded Ogrum from that picture because he's slightly shorter than Breez, and I took my other titans already months ago apart. Final thoughts Furno XL uses Stormer XL' design and tweaks it for great effect, which results in a very fantastic titan. While I'm personally more a friend of Stormer's ice-theme, Furno is with no doubt the best of the three XL heroes yet. He comes with many cool (or should I say "hot"?) parts, a very good looking colour scheme and a great design (he's a knight, after all). In short, no matter what kind of villians are terrorizing your area, Furno XL is more a than a worthy opponent for all evil out there. ...and maybe he's even a worthy opponent for some heroes? (I usually don't make pictures featuring something non-LEGO, but I couldn't resist to make this one)

First of all: Awesome gif. If the transparent shell I just picked to compare it to Furno's head one of Toxic Reapa's, then his head is trans neon green. For some weird reasin, it looks more yellowish than the shell though.
-
I took pics what Furno's back looks underneath the cape, and also various pictures while building him. I hope they sould answer all questions regarding his back. I'll probably write Furno's review today and Ogrum's tomorrow because I might try the Breez/Ogrum combiner first and add the pictures into Ogrum's review. Oh, that reminds me that I have to scan a few pages from their respective instructions (at least the picture with Furno's "combiner").
-
I bought Furno XL and Ogrum yesterday, today I got the time to build them (and take plenty of pictures - I'll write at least one of the reviews tomorrow), but I wanted to tell a few things right ahead: Furno's head is in a different colour than Breez' Ogrum didn't got back armour because of the brain slug spine thing. I'll watch the video another time, because I'm tired now...

Given that his post was already deconstructed it's rather pointless, but hey, I was quoted, so I want to respond... Sure, Brain Attack features more fantasy-like monsters, but the protagonists are still robots, and the whole setting is clearly sci-fi. To me, Hero Factory is just as much sci fi as, say, Warhammer 40.000 is. Given that science fiction is also just another form of fantasy, your mileage may vary on this topic though.
-
I wouldn't bet on it, but it seems like that Surge might be a titan set this time (at least he'll become a Deluxe set, given the wings). I'm also looking forward to ice guy and Stormer of course.
-
Definitely Axonn, but Lewa Nuva, Gelu and Gresh come very close.
-
I agree with Aanchir here. It looks rather messy in it's robot form, but the vehicle mode makes up for it.
-
Thanks for all the replies. It's always nice to see that the reviews are worth the effort. Sure I will. I will also try if the new head is small enough for Stars Tahu's kanohi. I just tried the 2.0 armour plate on the new armour, and it actually works far better than I thought. Keep in mind that the chin of the new head would get in the way (just like with the Glatorian heads) though. Not according to the building instructions, I just checked again. But it does looks nice, yeah.

I don't understand why everybody is actually worried about the possibility of Chima replacing Hero Factory. After all these robot-themed constraction lines, I wouldn't mind if TLG would shift it's focus on a more fantasy-like approach. And since the characters in Chima are anthromorphic animals, I think it could work quite well (humans look still somewhat weird to me in that scale). But yeah, as far as things seem to be now, I guess the Chima sets will coexist alongside Hero Factory. But I wouldn't mind if TLG decides to expand the Chima constraction sets in favor of Hero Factory (or a similiar theme). On a totally unrelated topic: Thanks to the Lord of the Rings video game, I want a constraction set of Sauron and the Balrog.

My review for Breez is online. I also took plenty of pictures of the new head.

Ah, christmas... the time for holidays, presents, chocolate and gingerbread, christmas carrols... and since two years, for me the time for the early arrival of the newest Hero Factory Sets! When I visited my local LEGO Store yesterday, I spotted (much to my own delight) the new wave of everybody's favourite constraction line, this time with the gruesome subtitle Brain Attack. Just so you know, orignally I wanted to get Ogrum (because of his dark green armour), but since pretty much everybody here on Eurobricks was curious about the new head design (thanks to Front's vague hints), I eventually ended up buying Breez, since I liked her design more than Bulk's or Rocka's (feel free to smack me the next time I start complaining that there are too many lime green sets in Hero Factory - after all, it's my own fault when I prefer them over the other sets and thus, end up with more lime green parts). Anyway, now it's time for the very first Brain Attack review here on Eurobricks! Set name: Breez Set Number: 44006 Price: 9.99 Euro Pieces: 53 Year of release: Late 2012/Early 2013 Size class: Scout set (which means it's a small set) The bag TLG continues to pack the HF sets into resealable bags, which is a good thing in my opinion. However, they apparently changed the material. Breez' bag was a bit harder to cut open (I'm used to slice them open on the back to keep the front undamaged), and the bags are also white on the inside, as opposed to the silver from last year's wave. The front of the box shows Breez standing in some... factory? Laboratory? Anyway, it's not a jungle despite all the green that's going on there. You can also spot a few brain slugs in the background, and on the very left of the bag you can see the LEGO logo. The back of the bag shows that pretty much everything in Breez' hands can rotate in some way, and it also teases the combiner model (just like the 2011 sets did). You can also already see here that the new visor piece can flip upward! Oh, there's also some info on the new game and getting 400 game points. (And yes, the lower part of the bag is covered by the choking hazard warning and other legal text - the background of that section is grey, if you want to know) Inside the bag Breez comes with a total of 53 pieces (unless I made a mistake while counting the pieces), which is a surprisingly large number for a Scout-sized set. She mostly got silver parts, alongside with some lime green and a few bits of brown, dark green and even gunmetal. Now to the new parts! The new armour Before I show you the new head, here's a comparison of the new torso armour with it's predecessors from the 2011 and Breakout line. Its lovely designed, though I'm not sure if it works that well with 2.0 chestplate. In addition to the two connection points in the center (for the hero core, of course), it also allows you to clip 4 other parts to it. It connects the same way as the other ones, in case you were wondering. The piece we were all curious about - the new head mold Here you can see it from the front, with a Glatorian head next to it. The new head omits any form of molded detail, but it got an cross axle connection in the front now. From the side. Nothing new here, but you can see that the new head is shorter. The back. As you can clearly see, the socket was redone to fit the standard that had been established in the 2011 sets. And finally, a top view, which clearly joints the clip-on bar at the back of the new head. I have mixed feelings about the new head. The stronger socket and the additional connections are great, but it's surely intended for "closed" helmets due to it's lack of a face of it's own. The Visor Sleek, simple, beatiful. There isn't much else I can say about the visor piece. There's also a cross axle connection on it's top. But to use the flip-up feature, it clips to the head. The new helmet The Brain Attack wave gives the heroes also new helmets, though their designs are based on the older helmets. In fact, when I saw Breez' pic for the first time, I didn't even realized that she got a new helmet. Breez' new helmet is a bit wider around the chin but slightly narrower at the top. It also omits any asymmetrical details, which I actually like. It connects in the same way than the older helmets, but... ...you can't use the new helmet with the Glatorian head mold since the helmet is (just like the new head) a bit shorter than the old molds. That means of course that the new head is compatible with the older helmets. The building Instructions - a few pictures of interest taken out of them. The cover of the instructions. Looks nice, doesn't it? The first two pages, which are some sort of story-line comic thing. The brain slugs seem to be sick of swimming in their canisters, so they get space ships to crash land on various planets and then get stomped by Furno XL... or something like that. There's also an ad for that new brain slug transformation app. The people behind the ad are nice enough to not show a picture of the transformation to prevent us all from nightmares. And finally, here's a picture of the combiner model which also requires Ogrum. It looks really cool if you ask me, and since I'm going to get Ogrum as well, I'll most likely give this combiner also a try. Building Breez Similiar to her Breakout version, the build of Brain Attack Breez starts with adding something to her back. Then you start adding limbs to it, which is followed by completing the legs. Then, Breez get arms, hands, her head... ...and the visor. Then you build the armour, which incorporates more parts than any other armour before. The picture above is pretty self-explanatory. The next step is the shoulder armour, and after that... ...it's time for her bow-spear-thing. I guess that picture shows how the two halves of it are built. Once you assembled them, put them in her right hand and put the sawblade-shield into her left, Breez is built and ready for her mission. The finished set While her past three versions were mostly lime green with some red, Breez is this time mostly silver with some green. The sawblade shield and the spearbow give her a gladiator/warrior-like look, which looks pretty cool. I was while building her a bit concerned about her arms (since they look rather short), but once Breez is built, it doesn't look all that bad. The design of her armour reminds me a bit of Evo's Breakout design (possibly because of the bulky shoulder). However, I miss something about her design. I'm not entirely sure what, but something's lacking. Her colour scheme pretty solid. Silver and green work good together, and the way the three greens (lime, dark green and the transparent green on her knees and head) are patterned look also good. Being a Scout-sized set, Breez' suffers from the hollow back-syndrome. However, she can store her shield on the back, which also helps to distinguish that. Oh yeah right, spare parts. Playability Breez comes with the same amount of poseability like most other HF sets these days. Since her armour is also rather sleek, it almost never hinders her poseability. Her weapon, bizarrely enough, is also kinda poseable. As already guessed, the silver pieces of the bow are the same which were also used in various other themes, and the holes in there aren't cross-axled. That's in my opinion also the only downside of Breez' design. Her weapon looks clearly more like a bow rather than anything else, and attempting to make it look like a spear or something similiar looks rather half-assed, if you ask me. Another thing I do like though is the flip-up visor. It's a nice little touch. You can also move the EXO force arms on her armour to create poses were the bad guys might try to rip her hero core off. Ouch! Final thoughts I like Breez. I like her a lot. But personally, I prefer her Breakout version (reviewed here) over this one, partly because of the weird designed weapon, partly because the design of Breakout Breez was (aside from a few issues with the colour scheme, but BA Breez does only slightly better in that department) overall just great, and although Brain Attack Breez doesn't look bad, she doesn't impress me as much as her past version (okay, Breakout Breez looked like Samus Aran, that's hard to beat). But that new version of Breez is still a very good set (I would rank her a close second behind her past incarnation). She comes with a fair share of nice pieces, and most of them are silver, a rather versatile colour. All in all, I recommend her, but I'm almost sure that Ogrum might be the better green set this time. Well, we'll see in a week, when I have the time to get to the LEGO store again to pick Ogrum up (and most likely Furno XL too).

The LEGO Store. Other stores don't have them on the shelves yet (at least as far as I know - Müller, who usually get the sets first, don't seem to have them yet). On a totally unrelated topic: The DC Superheroes disappeared from the LEGO store shelves, while the Marvel Superheroes are still there. And don't worry, I'm already working on the review.
-
I don't get what's your problem with the thickness of his sword, since OoT Ganondorf's sword does look like this, as seen in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Anyway, this guy looks fantastic! His arms look a bit stubby, but aside from that, you pretty much nailed Ganondorf here. Say, how poseable is he?
-
I have usually problems to recognize a face on those MOCs, but aside from this, that MOC looks really cool. The shape of her dress is especially badass. (also, I am so going to bookmark your blog, since you build really amazing stuff).
-
That guy looks really cool, and the neck articulation... brilliant! My only complaint about him would be his teeth, I think he'd look better with white ones. But that's only a minor nitpick.
-
The new sets are available, at least in Germany. I picked Breez up today and took plenty of pictures, so you can look forward to a review.
-
Been a while since I checked your stuff... it's very, very awesome. I like that idea a lot.
-
Yay pictures! I dare to say that Laval is mostly orange, not gold. I honestly doubt that the light in this picture makes the gold orange without changing other colours that drastically. To the sets themselves: Laval's lion head and the fur looks cool, same goes for his sword. But I'm on the fence regarding his colours. On one side, it's cool to see more orange parts, on the other, he would look better if the orange parts would be actually that bright sandish brown (I'm not sure of it's name, I mean the one that's also used on his face). I also agree on his legs, but maybe they wouldn't look so bad if he'd been posed properly... or if his upper thighs were shorter. Cragger looks really good. I can even forgive the lack of armour on his lower legs since that helps to transport the proportions of actual crocodile limbs to his design. I'm curious how his head is connected though. By the way... Am I the only one who noticed that neither of them wears a cape?
-
Well, I wanted to go christmas shopping tomorrow anyway, so I could also check the LEGO store in town. If I get lucky, you can expect at least one HF review to the weekend.
-
The Heroica weapons in my LotR Moria set were missing, but aside from that, I didn't suffer any packaging errors. Instead, I got a package update: The Rotor I bought at my local LEGO store had the 2.0 sockets instead of the old ones.
-
Just like Shakar said, Furno's cape would actually speaks against back armour, since it would beefen up his back too much and the cape would cover up any gap on the back anyway. On the plus side, that would mean more stuff at some other place of him.
-
I'm curious what the heads will look like, especially Eris'. Since we got a topic for Legends of Chima, will the posts about it in the HF 2013 thread moved to this one? Oh, btw, you got a typo in the title (Action "Figuires").
