  1. So what does this error tell you? Unable to generate necessary includes. 'NO.' is an unexpected token. Expecting white space. Line 5, position 43. Now, it's entirely possible this is bush-league stuff, but I'm just getting comfortable with my solar calculator, so all this computer stuff makes me a bit dizzy.
  2. The thread I posted it in is here. The thing is still built pretty much as shown here, but I've expanded it by another 16 studs to include the Zombies set and a few more headstones, but it's still pretty bare-bones [ba-dum ching!]. But as I said, this is the most basic, and you can only get fancier from here. Were I to scrap and rebuild this, I'd definitely concentrate on jazzing up the landscaping.
  3. I've seen some good stuff on here, if you dig around. Some of them are simple, sure, and on the other end some seem really overbuilt. It depends what you prefer. I made one back when you could build it in LDD and order the set from them [for the cost of your left arm]. I like it, but it was designed early in my post-Dark Age and also with a more "real LEGO set!" vibe, so it's pretty simple. But it's a good start on top of which you can embellish to your heart's content. I've been toying with ways of getting crooked, busted-down tombstones, but it's hard to pull off convincingly at a small scale without a built-up base that you can sink stuff into.
  4. The only thing I know about the Lone Ranger is that the name of his nephew's horse is Victor.
  5. So yeah, this is a three-month old topic, but in a recent Grab Bag from the LEGO store I got a few light green pieces that I used to fix up Treebeard's hands. I updated the LDD file and include an image of that, because it's easier than taking a picture. What do we think the odds of an official Treebeard set are?
  6. Hey guys, this might seem like a pretty zany request, but is anyone in here who's in the GTA planning on making an online purchase from the shop.LEGO some time soon? Turns out I need a cable [8886] but I don't think I'll be buying anything off the site for a while, and, you know, shipping being what it is, it looks like I'll have to be cableless for some time. So yeah, I figured if anyone here's making a buy [for the free shipping] I could piggy-back on and then meet up at some point to reimburse you the 5 or whatever dollars it'd cost. Unless, of course, someone knows of a store in the area that carries these things [or perhaps has one they no longer want]. Or some other, better option?
  7. More Johnny Depp minifigures! Why is he called the Lone Ranger, when he always had Tonto with him?
  8. At least make some of the kits available at Brand stores. I'd love to get some of the current spooky ones they put out. There was one local indy toy store that had some of Kit one at a ridiculous price. Not sure where he got it from.
  9. Thanks for the tip. I was really on the fence about the Advent Calendar this year, because it's definitely an off-theme year [like last year, which I can handle now and then, but maybe not two years in a row] and the cost felt high for a set I wasn't in love with, but at that cost the Adventy thrill is definitely worth the fee. Got the folks with the Costco card to pick me up one. They make my November fun! [Yeah, I open them a month early... I'm eager.] But do I want the Friends one? Ehh... And I don't wanna pay for the SW one, but that RT Snowman is so good. Just not 50 bucks good.
  10. You Americans and your blasted Targets. I'm holding out hope, faint as it is, that there may be some of these around NYC when I visit there next month. Ya never know... fingers crossed the Rockefeller Center brand store somehow gets some of these to celebrate Halloween or whatever, 'cause I doubt going to a Target in Queens will be a suggestion that goes over well.
  11. So I just got both these guys in the mail, and they're lovely. Expensive, yes. Too expensive, really, but they're nice once they're together. I'm a sucker for both spooky/morbid LEGO and bricky instruments, so both of these work for me. The messy gravestone thing is nice, if a bit too busy. And yeah, the figures are for the most part easier and cheaper to get elsewhere, but there's still lots to like about the set. The Zombie is tops, and that little bat-printed stone letter thing is swell. Dunno where and when that's gonna show up elsewhere. But the packaging, man! These things are so packaged. I was not expecting the density of that plastic, or the really nice printed card backdrops [they're like a bonus piece to use in your display!].
  12. What Did I Just Buy? Hello Train people, I need some help explaining what I bought. So here's the story: I have the Emerald Night, kitted-up with IR gear. That's the extend of my Train involvement. I was shopping online last week, trying to get to 75 bucks for the free shipping, and I though, hey, this 8866 Train motor's been on sale forever, and it's 8 bucks [Canadian], so why not? So I added it, assuming I'd be able to use it somehow with the other gear to make some silly little train at some point without having to take apart the EN for the motor and gears buried in it. But I just opened it.. and... huh? I probably should have looked over some reviews, but regardless of the techy issues of slippage and power and other such things I'm too bush-league to have an opinion on, what do I need to make the thing even work? Which wires are available, and will they plug into the other kit I have? I've got the 88000 battery box and the 8884/8879 remote stuff. Thanks for any quick primers you can give. Even though the thing was cheap, I don't wanna regret having bought it, and I certainly don't want to just buy a cable only to have it be the wrong one.
  13. Get me one! I'll be your best friend. Hey, I just relaized that once Target comes to Canada, I might finally get a fair crack at some of these swell polybags... Hmm.
  14. The kid doesn't know what a record is... Makes me feel a little old, I think. Still gonna get this set, but I'm waiting 'till October. Just in case there are sweet Bricktober deals.
  15. Part of me wants to jump on this thing instantly, but the other, smarter part of me wants to wait until October to see what sort of sweet kickback and bonuses might be had for Bricktober... I mean, even if it's double VIP points, that's worth the wait on a buy this big, I think. But can I hold off for another month? Agghh. Besides, I can't think of anything else I want, and I wanna snag that cool Zombie Car while I can, so I need something to get me up to 75 bucks.
  16. Yes, that piece in dark trans green. As I said, I didn't save the baggy itself, so there's not much to take a picture of, but if you look at this you can see most of the content short of the gem pieces strewn about the place, and specifically the stickers, atop which Hulk is standing. There were no instructions, but there was a small Monster Fighters advertisement insert.
  17. Not that it's a terribly active hunt, but I am currently planning to have four bodies at the ready for when this set comes out, and swap the zombie heads out of the structure [for some other element as yet to be decided upon] and boom, four more zombies for the horde. The extra heads are just sweet gravy for horror nerds who want more nameless undead. They work as decoration, but are easily [and perhaps better used] removed and replaced. Or so I've decided.
  18. I'm not sure how worth noting it is, but this weekend at a convention LEGO was attending, they handed out another Monster Fighters polybag, although it's pretty sparse as far as content. I tossed the pouch sorta foolishly, so I don't have the number code, but it contained a glow in the dark spider, as well as a white web, classic skeleton, black bat, red jewel, and green kryptonite piece, as well as a sheet of fancy plastic glow in the dark stickers. It was a neat promo kit, and a good way spookify pretty much any other set you might have. So yeah, there's that out there too, for you polybag hunters.
  19. Full recap! Thursday, STAR WARS: morning [not sure for how long], Darth Maul polybag giveaway. Friday, SUPERHEROES: multiple times throughout the day, Build-a-logo, where you collect pieces and build either the Superman or Batman logo. (I don't know how good an idea this was, on account that people needed over a hundred 1x1 bricks, so counting that out made the line really long. Should have been pre-packaged.) Saturday, LOTR: LEGO LOTR posters [at least two that I saw] available at various times throughout the day. Sunday, MONSTER FIGHTERS: Build-a-Lord Vampyre, at least two times during the early part of the day, and later in the afternoon they were handing out smaller polybags of a glow in the dark spider with web, skeleton, bat, and jewels with glowing stickers. I forgot to record the bag number for this. There may have been other stuff I didn't see, because I wasn't around the area much more than once or twice a day. But yeah, pretty good for such a tiny display. Hopefully it'll be bigger and better [and more prominent] next year! And go to my blog to see the awesome sketch I got Greg Hyland to do for me!
  20. Dude, they were totally giving out Darth Maul polybags on Thursday. Worth the visit!
  21. So for those of you near Toronto, the Fan Expo starts tomorrow, which is sort of a big, lumbering deal around here. But I noticed that LEGO has a table this year, which is new and interesting. I'm hoping they're well-received, so that this time next year they might bring along some sweet exclusive stuff that Canada never gets access to.
  22. Nertz, these might be out here already? I haven't seen any, but I haven't actually been looking yet, either. I wasn't expecting them till, like, October.
  23. I'm very into both of these. The Monster set is a no-brainer, because Ghosts by the gross are cool beans, as are zombies, and doubly-so in a new suit. I wish the Witch had some alternate printing, but I'll deal. And the band is all [ever-so-slightly] "new." And Silver Gem looks pretty good. And I'm a sucker for musical equipment in LEGO form. So yeah, these are both big winners, even though I'll probably complain about the cost.
  24. I'll still rather take another of him than another of Frodo!
  25. If anyone's mad about the Frodo in his Kitchen polybag and has access to one [or three] of these, I could organize a trade... Because Frodo is quite populous, but this Ghost is what I really want.
