But in Sci-Fi everything schanges, as it's your imagination that decides what's what. In Warhammer 40.000 all flyers are part of the navy, there is no army (imperial Guard) airforce (axcept for a few units like the Phantine Air Corps), And the Space Marines use their own aircraft without using the Navy's types or the navy using the Space Marine vehicles. In other Sci Fi like Star Trek and Star Wars it's less defined as there are no specific branches, everyone is part of the one big group, be it The Federation in Star Trek, or The Empire / Rebel Alliance / The Remnant / New Republic in Star Wars. But as This is your idea Nick, you decide what's what, we are just the drones that follow

Not a silly question at al as an 'Airforce' could be part of the Navy, Army or Marines branches. The Marines allready have a flyer for example. I would guess the Marines will have close support air vehicles and orbit to surface dropships, while the Navy has fast attack and anti aircraft vehicles and the Army would have the heavy bombers and surface to surface troop transports. But i could see some interchangability for some types of craft as the Army would have a use for close support craft and the Marines would have a use for surface to surface transports.

Well, now it isn't anymore now is it...

And when you share me you don't have me Awesome photo

Actually, no it wasn't. I had this idea for a while. Does look cool though
-
I like it
-
It's the guns/flagpoles at the outer ends. I have more problems with those.
-
One can hope they will

I might order some of those That's basicly what i came up with, but i don't like it, i want it rounder I also came up with this. But it's a bit too big Or this I just love this...

And more vehicles? The long awaited dropship? I know, i know, you have a lot to do, but i'm just soooooo excited about this theme Made another one for the theme. The Cobra light attack flyer http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=70153

The Cobra attack flyer was designed after repeated requests for close air support from both the Army and the Marines. Able to be armed with a variety of weaponsystems the Cobra has become the mainstay of the armed forces. Army tankhunter. Navy targeting scout. Comments and crits allways welcome. The LDD file for you te play with http://www.brickshel...cobra_flyer.lxf

There isn't, just what your PC can handle and what LDD can handle. Above 10k bricks LDD tends to slow down, above 15k bricks, LDD starts to crash, above 20k bricks LDD is as slow as molasses on a cold day and as brittle as a rose dipped in liquid nitrogen. My PC can handle up to and a little over 20k bricks, but most peoples PC's crash around the 10k brick mark. LDD isn't made to handle that large amounts of bricks, i really wish they streamline the code so you can make mega models.

So stupid of me. I've been so focused on doing everything with standard lego bricks i didn't think of rubber bands and the like. What do you think of this, a thin strip op plastic (or paper) square with rounded corners, with 4 stud sized holes. Just like the CMF kilt and dresses, single big drum 2x2 round plate and flat plate, dual drum 2x2 round flat plate and 2x2 with rounded bottom. 1ste Australian pipes and drums band Still need to think of how to make this type of drum, I will, i will This is basicly what i want to build: I'ts going to be extended with a crowd on the sidewalk. Still ordering the pieces and trying out some other ways to make the 'street'.

Hi all, With the new CMF S7 Bagpiper i wanted to combine it with the CMF S5 Royal guard and make a pipes and drums marching band / scottisch regiment on parade... The meager beginnings are there... My army of Space Marines watching in the background But i can't for the life of me figure out how to make drums, the big ones, the small ones, the middle ones, the double ones..... If anyone has a bright idea, please, please let me know To get you in the mood

Yes and... yes... It also has wheels Allthough i'm hitting the 13k brick mark allready so i may ditch this untill LDD will let me make 50k brick models
-
Thanks. The big II is the ships number. Imagine a starcruiser with 20 of these, Marines would have to know what dropship they are assigned to. The big room is the sensor and engine control room, i should have added a couple of chairs but i wanted it uncluttered with all kinds of things, in retrospect it could have been more detailed.

LDD 5, what features do YOU want?
BasOne replied to BasOne's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I'd like to see a true designing platform aimed at AFOLS to create 'super' models e.i. models over 50k bricks (my fovorite ). But seriously, a 'beginner' setting, like LDD is now, and an 'advanced' setting, aimed at more serious designers, higher brickcount, more grouping options, view/windows options, more hide/unhide options etc. I don't know what the LEGO designers use, but i want something like that -
Thanks for the kind comments guys ^_^ And no problem vynsane, i like to share my LDD models, as long as no one takes credit for it More models in my brischshelf folder for those who want to browse, http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=453208 . (just saying ) @Legocrazy, in Real Bricks.... no way For one, i don't have the monies, and more importantly, they don't have all the bricks in the right colours. Now i'm working on something completely different.... it's larger and groundbased Allthough i have a great idea for a vehicle dropship that can carry about a 100 Marines, MBT's, Scout vehicles..... Just hope LLD doesn't give up on me

Well they could use 3367 Or release a detailing set with the parts to convert 10231 to the Moonraker. I supported this on Cuusoo
-
I think Dark red looks best.
-
The ships you make look absolutely fantastic. Just amazing how you can get all the details in. I do have a request. Can you post some pics of the ship sawn in half lengthwise, i'd like to see the interior how you made the bow Or as we say in Dutch. Alsjeblieeeeeeeeeeft

Size got a bit out of hand, i wanted to build a smaller one Thanks, you keep up the better work I wanted a contrasting colour for the ships number, easily recognisable in the heat of battle wich dropship is wich

Even if LEGO doesn't make a Space Marine Set based on hjmediastudios (Nick Royer) designs, the 'universe' itself seems to have lot's of people designing sets and jumping for more. Me included Nick is working on his own Dropship, but i guess it will be quite a bit smaller then mine.... it actually got a bit out of hand size wise, i had a smaller one in mind For your pleasure.. the Space Marine Troop Carrier. Only armed with 2 small anti air turrets this behemoth is heavyly armoured enough to drop 26 Space Marines and a fighting vehicle into the fray. Interior shot. Interior from the rear. Full frontal. Side on. From the rear. Rear ramp opened, Assault buggy ready to go. Front ramp lowered. Hatch open, go go go. You can run right through it. Assault buggy. Comments and crits allways welcome And the LXF for people to play with http://www.brickshel...oop_carrier.lxf
