As the party shuffle awkwardly backwards towards where they think the direction of the door is, bumping into each other and getting a real whiff of Nagure's burnt fur, someone kicks a small metal object and the party hear it clink on the floor several feet or so away. Do the party want to look for this in the dark or still try to leave to get the torch?

The party go through the last remaining door that they had not tried, and after the usual blinding bright light as they stepped through, they half expected to be warped back to the upper hallway, or even the lower hallway like the last warp door. But they weren't. They are in pitch blackness, and with their eyes just blinded, no-one can see a thing. What would the party like to do?

"With all due respect, ma'am, we have been hired to protect you and that is what we will do. Though you are surely my match in battle, I will not leave your side. As Thothwick says, without your blade, you will be vulnerable, and that is exactly when the assassin's are likely to strike."

The party takes the chance to rest up after their brutal fight with the fourth Guardian. Our small town owes you heroes a huge debt. I will get these children home to their parents, and make sure Vell is safe. As far as I am concerned, the job you were hired for has been completed. If you wanted to leave this place and not come back, I would take you to the station and grant you your payment, but I am eager to see this Maginastra and see what he has to say for himself. Plaese discuss your next move and I will return s soon as I can." With that, he leaves the magical mansion again, hugging his daughter fiercely and making sure the other two children are following. He will be back after the last door has been investigated, should you choose to do so.

Round Six of the Catapult Guardian battle Drake vs Snowy - Special Damage Erik vs Snowy - Miss Nagure vs Snowy - Shield (Frenzy) Mizuki vs Flamepot C F - Shield (Mug) Sorrow vs Snowy - Hit The battle reaches a crescendo. Drake, promoted to the top of the order as he still hasn't learnt about free hits, attacks Snowy, who barks another Flamepot (F) into existence (same stats as others, 25 health). This puts off Erik, who swings and misses. Nagure goes into a long awaited frenzy (-9), hitting Snowy, extinguishing Flamepots C and E, and weakening the newly created Flamepot F. This allows Mizuki to change her target to Flamepot F, and the Rogue takes full advantage, plunging her dagger into the fire (-19), extinguishing it and finding 19 gold pieces to boot. Sorrow gets a hit on Snowy (-9), and the Guardian is nearly spent. The battle continues! Sorrow, with Syntax the dominant personality for the moment, goes for self-preservation and takes a potion from behind everyone else. Nagure's wretched run of luck continues, and Flamepot E singes his fur once again, although it is too far away to do full damage (-2). Erik smashes his spear into one of the "eyes" of Snowy, prompting a horrific scream from the Guardian (-19). Drake lands a solid hit on Flamepot E (-9), leaving it close to defeat, and likewise Mizuki's big attack on Flamepot C (-14) leaves her opponent near to defeat as well. The battle continues! Tarn smiles his thanks to Nyx and recaps their long, drawn-out fight for the others. "Thank you for this, Nyx. Our teamwork was most impressive, fighting alongside the valiant Sir Poletad we were able to stop Sphinx from sacrificing Mallelio. It is heartening to see, that even in these desperate times, that some of our enemies still have a sense of honour. Sphinx's fight was a warriors challenge, him against us, and when we bested him, he did not allow Claw to step in and fight us. We took Mallelio and here we are. That's 3 charges protected, I believe."

Both Tarn and Nyx should be at full health due to our Natural Respite, "Great work, Nyx! You truly are harnessing both sides of your spirit!" said Tarn, in awe of the Battle Mage, and not for the first time. "And you, Sir Poletad, you were also a valiant hero!" he adds, not sure if the Frog Paladin can understand him but certain that he would get the sentiment. "That's 3 of our charges protected now, let's get Malellio down and take Sphinx into custody."

Sorrow takes on Snowy, and rams his new longsword into the wheels of the catapult (-14). Erik takes all his frustrations from the battle and puts in an almighty hit against Flamepot C, however being in the back row the effect is not as impressive as it should have been (-10). Mizuki tries to keep up her momentum in the fight but misses the swipe of her dagger against Flamepot C. The battle continues! I love teh Crimson Reaper, Sandy! Superb sets in your Quests as always. I have a question, which I want to ask you guys here rather than in the normal thread for it. I am tempted by the Hulk minifig polybag and am thinking about getting the Medieval Market Village. Knowing the kind of things I build for Heroica, do you think this is a set worth getting, not just as a set but for useful parts? It would be the most I have spent on a single Lego set by a comfortable margin!

That's two Flamepots that the party leader has taken out now. Erik has no luck aginst Flamepot C, which pushes him even further away from the others in the battle. Once again he will fight from the back row next time. Mizuki lands a huge hit on Flamepot B with her dagger (-14), easily finishing it off. The Rogues are getting it done this battle. Nagure is forced to take a potion, healing him up nicely for the enxt round. Even better, Flamerobe gets in position to block any physical damage with his shield next turn. The untargetted Flamepot E spews fire at Sorrow, what skin he has left on his cadaverous form beginning to crackle(-4) as he nears a KO. The battle continues! Sorry Zeph, this must be really hard, juggling so many different things! I QM newbie quests and I find that hard! Tarn grimaces as the fire burns him yet again. He readies Halbaerend and attacks Sphinx from the front row. I'm not sure about auto-running the rounds, as Tarn is practically KOed by a Damage hit if it occurs, with the burning and the new special. Not much margin for error. Would a Remedy stop the burning?

It's magic fire and magic snow! The eyes are from Mater, yes. All Guardians except Peggy have used Cars eyes. I will try and run the round soon, I am not feeling well today so please bear with me.
