  1. @BEAVer: Thanks, just temporary connect some dummy bricks(with un-use color) between group layers then delete them all at once(by color) afterward.
  2. 21104-1: NASA Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover Theme Cuusoo LXF: (LDD 4.3.8) Two Youtube videos for use groups as BI: http://www.eurobrick...4 Five LDD2pvray renderings: 21004 bi bbqqq by Nachapon S., on Flickr
  3. @Calabar: Thanks, I am checking hrontos's works. Beceuse LXF BI can rotate/zoom/hide/change_color/move/copy every groups step. So it can minimize building steps. and help making on pic BI. The 21104 Cuusoo: NASA Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover can be minimize ot 35 building steps only. 4. Happy new year! @steph7 & Lipko, Thanks for very nice comment and suggestions. Maybe this model just suit for simulate function(not spin too fast). Connect to three PF or NXT moters to simulate cyclic & collective. Need new mould for turn table uper part and 4x4 round bricks for five blades rotor head and swashplate. 6. Regarding to the 2L axle with stop, Yes, it is possible to make some LDD custom brick without hack any software. Sample below. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=62039&st=175#entry1742003 Update: Use four "connector peg with knob" (part #4274)(illegal) to mount each blade as YouTube below. For real brick, just cut the 4L axle with stop. Sample below. I found a new way to use group function that turn LDD LXF file into easy to use digital building instruction. Authors can manual fully control steps and building order. No more confuse, no more long time waiting for big LDD file to auto generate LDD BI. Group & sub-group bricks by building order -> hide all -> hide each group icon then undo(ctrl+Z)to make bricks show up in building order. For simple way. Just select groups icon in order to make LDD highlight each brick step by step.

  8. Thank you everyone for nice comments and suggestions. Agree, noticed that problem in 2nd YouTube video. Design below fix it but not look that good. Cyclic Animation:
  9. Thank you everyone for nice comments and suggestions. Here are alternate blade pin. Use 2L axle with a cut-off non-lego rubber band. Each blade can be mount with one pin only. just like most RC heli. Blades will auto expand when spin at high speed. I wonder if with help of seesaw structure to balance the heli to almost zero in weight. Is it possible to wire remote lego heli to fly like real heli with real lift fore by roter spin? 2 YouTube Lego helicopter realistic roter head swashplate LDD cyclic & collective sim 6 by Nachapon S., on Flickr 2 YouTube Lego helicopter realistic roter head swashplate LDD cyclic & collective sim 5 by Nachapon S., on Flickr
  10. Looking forward to see your result. I have built one with real brick, but a bit different design cause I don't have all the parts. Still need to design structure to hold and tilt bottom of the swashplate. Maybe need to oil the turn table if rotate very fast. Insert a stick into the pin to prevent it from compress may help. This video show different angle of each blade while cyclic.
  11. The black cross in new design below will help the rotorhead to rotate together with upper part of the swash palte easier. Yes, old design have to cheat by string or drill small hole to prevent blades fall off. Here are some better alternate new design. 16. Easy way to benchmark LDD? LDD is limit by polygons count not by quantity of bricks. I tried to place 48x48 big base plate one by one. LDD crash at about 95 bricks (base plates) only. ( 7.8 million polygons). LDD2povray can handle many more polygons, This is a 200 big base plates 48x48 rendering test, took 50 min to render. ( 16.6 million polygons) lego ldd2povray 16 milions polygons of 200 base plate 48x48 by Nachapon S., on Flickr
  17. @horntos, Thank you for your instructions.
  18. Chrome need things to reflect. So build things surround it or or/and use sky sphere image. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=71654&st=525#entry1707837 Thanks, I will try it. 20. Stud in LDD is a 12 faces cylinder without bottom surface = 36 polygons. So all studs of a 48x48 base plate = 36x48x48 = 82,944 polygons, The remaining polygons are for big flat plate with round corners. But if connect something on it, the hidden stud/faces will reduce the polygon count. ie: Two seperate 1x1 bricks = 64 x 2 =128 polygons. But Two connect 1x1 bricks = 74 polygons.
  21. Maybe it is limit by polygons not by quantity of bricks. For example: Some tools can capture polygons in graphic card's RAM and count. A 1x1 tile = 44 polygons. A 48x48 baseplate = 83,004 polygons. A LXF with 1,600+ Mr. gold minifig = 5,548,625 polygons. Tried to paste 100 more Mr gold cause LDD crash. (RAM 8Gb, VRAM 2Gb_dedicated + 2Gb_shared_from_sys) Not sure more RAM or VRAM will help or not. If your system have more RAM/VRAM you can try to build as many Mr Gold as you can for experiment.
  22. That gaps cause by to disassemble four hinge plate 1x2 (73983) a bit to fit every parts together. The only solution so far.
  23. Thanks guys. The realistic dimensions & gaps done manually by lxfml trick. The imperfection automatic_random_stud_rotation can be done by "Use part position variances" check box. Sample: I am learning how to customize the ldd_part_position_variances.inc file.
