  1. Besides the mentined changes you are aware that a motor (are we talking about an electrical one or a gas power engine??) itself normally is big enough to change the look of your bike by its own?
  2. I wasn't sure which one I should take - Sea Serpent or the Longboat. I took the Serpent because of the nostalgic feel I associate with it - one of my most favourite sets back in the pre-dark-ages time... :-)
  3. Malcon in the Middle Clip Just kidding the female folks! ;-)
  4. Yeah,as fas as I know this is one of those 250$ figs, resold by the bricklinker...
  5. Erm, no!Actually it should be an Army Builder set, coming with one gold and two silver chromed droids! ;-)
  6. http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=Trade...&itemID=8344837 Yahoo! There it is, your very first chrome gold C-3PO!!! ;-)
  7. Damn, I hoped I could post my entry still during this day.... :-S Anyway, good luck to all of you! ;-)
  8. Neat cockpit mechanism! Need to steal the basic principles of it for future MOCs! ;-)
  9. Aeroraft: This was my first venture into the Steampunk genre. The original idea was to create a flying raft in the size of this Pirates set, but as so often it grew and grew and grew and now it looks like this: I tried to make the whole thing as realistic as possible (in terms of Steampunk's understanding of "realism"), the propellors all are gas powered (yeah, not really "steamish", but who cares ;-) ), meaning there is a gas engine that drives several compressors that are in most cases located near the propellors (see this, this, this and this), only the main propellor got his compressor in the wooden box in the middle of the ship. Actually there are four types of propellors, the first type is the main propellor at the top, together with the supporting propellors at both ends of the ship they allow the raft to fly. The third type are the small brown propellors at the underside that are upwards down, they help to stabilize the raft. Finally the raft got four additional propellors that drive the ship, two steerable propellors at the rear and two at the sides. Another possibility to drive this are the sails: They can be retracted by using the wench on the port side: The pilot got lots of levers and wheels to regulate the power of the various propellors to steer the raft up, down or let it fly curves. (This WIP shot shows the cockpit section a little bit better than the finished pictures) Finally, what is a Apo creation without of a lot of senseless stuff lying around? ;-) The front section of the raft is used to store the equipment that could be needed, like a small boathook, a net, rope, barrels, chests and additional gas tanks (the grey one carries o2 in case of a higher flight or whatever.) Okay, that's it so far, here are links to the Brickshelf galleries: Main gallery: Subgalleries: - Overview shots - Equipment - Propellors - WIP pictures Comments and critics as always welcome!!!
  10. If you wanna help her staying a LEGO fan instead of becoming a Contruction Toy Fan just send some packages with LEGO Pirates sets to her from time to time! ;-)
  11. :skel1: Oh, and I hope to be able to add a Flying Dutchman and the Oriental ship from the third movie to her collection if they are on sale aroung the christmas time! :-P And for mixing those Mega Bloks parts with LEGO bricks I think there is a huge potential of using the accessories (guns, swords, animals, plants,...) and I also would like to see the result of using only the lower hull parts of the Pearl (the four larger parts at the top of this picture) with the rest of the ship completely build with LEGO parts. I have no idea what the result would look like, but even if it's bad it would be worth the experiment.
  12. Galting's Stronghold Losely based on the mexican style architecture of the Desperados game this MOC depicts the entrance area of an Wild West fort. The name of the MOC comes from the Gatling Gun mounted above the entrance doors which was invented in the late 19th century. Besides this weapon the fort has also at least one cannon mounted on a gun carriage. Well I think in this case pics tell more than words, therefore some deeplinks: Link to the gallery: Brickshelf Comments ON! ;-)
  13. I already wondered what you had come up for "X"... :-D Very creative idea! *y*
  14. Actually there are four of them, mounted on sleds, but Dana forgot to photograph them... :-|| ;-)
  15. Hey people, I will introduce you to my newest project and a MOC: Project 1024 This project is basically a collection of 32 x 32 dioramas that has to fit to several requirements. I got the idea from a Builders Lounge contest I am participating (with this MOC as my first entry), the requirements include several structures that must be included in particular amounts (figures, vehicles, stable structres,...). Anyway, here we go! Stranded As you see, a Viking MOC (oh, I love this line! :o ) showing some guys with heir broken longboat and five poor vikings, one has even lost one of his horns! Anyway, here is a overview pic: The deck of the ship where they store those weapons and stuff they were able to recover from the water: The cooking site with a tripod camp fire thing and a scaffold for hanging the catched meat. Oh and a bucket of chilis! ;) Finally a view from the other side: And here the link: Stranded Gallery and the Detail Gallery (this one is currently in moderation process) BTW, the next diorama I am currently working on will be wild west based! ;-)
  16. Hey, that's no junk! Lot's of useful tools a wanderer needs!! ;-) Weird fun fact: I build the horse and the mongolian guy a few minutes ago just to have somewhat more life in the diorama, but this "filler" somehow became my favourite detail afterwards. 8-
  17. The Crossing: Okay not much words this time, just a small scene with a stone bridge, some guys and two horses... | | Gallery - already moderated! Detail gallery - not yet moderated Enjoy!
  18. I'll move this to the Culture & Multimedia forum!!!
  19. Hey, there is only ONE real EB couple!!! >:-) :-P Anyway, welcome around both of you!!!
  20. You know, most of us haven't exactly the same problems like you! :-P Maybe you should get in contact with TLC how they manage the boxes in their storage depots! ;-) But seriously if you look at the different boxes (I guess there are also smaller ones that are not depicted?) you'll find some sort of a pattern behind (most of) the boxes' dimensions. Try to sort and pile the boxes up by not letting any space between them, this should save 20% to 30% percent, as long as you have enough smaller boxes around to fill the gaps! So I can pick one of the boxes of the image for this tip? >:-) ;-)
  21. Maybe as some sort of half rotten swamp horse mummies or whatever... ;-)
  22. Okay Yoda, please tell me: How did you manage to get a hand on a teleporter which gave you the possibility to beam all those precious new sets directly into your home? X-O I am SO envious!!!! :-D
  23. I often use references as source for ideas, this could be a cool vehicle / mecha / whatever I've seen in a movie or TV (e.g. the A.P.U.s from Matrix or the Vampire from the Wing Commander game). other than this I can recommand the CS Concept Art galleries! There are many freaking things that inspired me already a few times to try my hand on those! (Most of the creations in this BS folder are inspired from CS artworks as well as my Polaris!)
  24. Hey, don't say that, the shop he was dancing in front could be Cafe Corner compatible!!!! X-D
  25. As far as I know we don't have any... :-$ But we have a few rules our members have to follow: Link
