  1. On 1000Steine.de it's reported that all winners got email. No list of the winners online though. So anybody among us got mail?
  2. This was probably my Jar Jar Folder... |-/ Good to know that people recognize me by my BS / EB member name... :-| And NO, I'm NOT banned! But let me explain what happened: BS let you upload files, but didn't show them in the folders. But it seems those files WERE stored on their servers and now they are accessible (and in most cases moderated). I made the mistake to assume that the files were lost and that it was my own mistake (some spaces in the file names I had overseen or something similar) that's why I tried to upload a single picture from another series (which I knew from that it was accepted by BS before) which disappeared after uploading too. Today I realized both the Kill Jar Jar pics AND the other image were uploaded into the folder... No I deleted the additional picture (which happened to be the thumbnail picture too >:-( ), so my folder is back in moderation queue. |-/ Anyway, there was a similar problem some weeks ago, though it was slightly different. Last time EVERY image wasn't accessible anymore. Every folder in a BS gallery seemed to be empty, though the folders itself still had their thumbnails (which wouldnt be possbile if the folders were empty('ed). This time the glitch affected new gallerys only. Phew...
  3. Here is my entry, threw this together in an half hour: Jar Jar's stop in the Naboo Yacht kitchen! Build from Star Wars Mini models only, meaning every model (official wave 1- 3, Ep 3 minis, Kabaya Slave 1 and TIE Interceptor) is used one time, plus the Minifigs of course. Anyway, here is the link to the Gallery as soon as BS will let me upload again and aftermoderation of course: Brickshelf Jar Jar OFF!
  4. Dana and me are up for the Event too, and this time we will do THE FULL PROGRAM!!! >:-) This time nothing will be able to stop us from visiting the designers' area!!! Nothing!!! Even if it means I have to bring some sharp tools!!! >:-) >:-) *knight*
  5. I just found out why all those new sets doesn't appeal to me anymore. There are two aspects on many recent sets that are missing: Solidity and color consistency. (The third aspect, usage of huge parts doesn't need to be discussed anymore, I counted 9 pieces only at the box picture). That are the things that make a official set look different from a im-t3h-9year-old-fbtb-kid-with-a-5-set-collection-and-0-mocing-skills-builder's MOC. Example: Those black parts here and there. What do they look like? Maybe the designer was too lazy to walk a few meters to the bin with the dark grey ones and took the parts from the nearer black parts bin? Or another fantastic idea like "We want to include as much colors as possible to ensure that kids can build from this set whatever they can imagine!" - Hello! This is a SW set, 90% of the customers want to play SW with it, 9 % want to display it and only the last 1% wants to rip it apart to make something else from it! And the chance is sooo little that he bought the set in the hope to get a multicolored parts pack! Example: The gap at the very front! Is the usage of smooothybooothy curveydurvy yummiebummie slope pieces put in your working contracts? Do the set constructors get fired when they don't have a third of the sets volume made up by a 10th of the sets parts? Why not using simple, classic, beautiful slopes instead? Would it be that hard? Are todays kinds really dumb enough to not be able to stack several slopes next to each other? Maybe, yes maybe the SW license should get off from System and start colaborating with Duplo? At least the anticipated intelligence of the themes consumers would fit together then! Honestly, please give us some WELL constructed sets in the future, and not Jack Stone leftover collections like this! Or at least put some "4+"-stamps on the boxes so we don't need to care for this sets anymore! A disappointed consumer. PS: Is it possible that nowadays every second post of mine is about grumbling about TLC???
  6. Why don't you try to replace the pinkish colors with more decent ones (like grey or blue or so), I'm pretty sure the effect will be a 100% compatible town set! Note to myself: As soon as I rebuild all my old sets I will try this myself!
  7. I'm pretty sure we can work something out to host it on the EB server, this program looks very useful and is surely a great addition for any LEGO fan, especially for those that often do reviews or MOC presentations! I'll talk to Jipay about this since he has access to the ftp server, I lost the password and log in data long ago... :-$
  8. Yoda! What are you saying? You shouldn't look at those manga pics! Get yourself a Marvel comic or if you prefer a belgo-french one (or at veeeery least a DC one)!!!! :-P Manga OFF!!! OFF I SAY!!!! >:-)
  9. Look what I just found at 1000Steine.de! 1000Steine link :'-) Golden axes! Winged helmets! New orkish swords! A troll! And are those new golden cristals pieces in the waggons??? Finally a really fun looking playset! Thanks TLC, maybe not all hope is lost! >:-) ;-)
  10. The main reason is that Dana doesn't allow me to spread my whole collection all over the bed room and especially the living room ;-) That's why I had to limit the amount of used parts so that I wouldn't need more space for both a few sorting bins and a little work area than my desk offers to me. This and the need for useful (space) parts lead automatically to the SW Minis, they are perfect for that job... *sweet* Second reason is somewhat a "historical" one, I build Mini alternates some time ago (in 2005? 2006? dunno anymore) and the sets served pretty well: | | | | | | | | Alternates ON!
  11. What a funny coincidence, look what I was working on the last two hours! :-D Mine is based on a sketch from the CS art galleries, I guess you used the same one for inspiration? I like the greebliness of your Strider, it resembles perfectly the mechanical aspects of the steampunk genre. For my version I used a more bulkier look because it is solely made from pieces of the Star Wars Mini sets (series 1 - 3, Kabaya Slave 1 and TIE Interceptor and the two Episode 3 mini models) and that's why there weren't enough small greebly pieces available... :'-( Anyway, a very lovely Steampunk MOC, I also like the laboratory setting too! Reminds me alot of Tesla's lab in the movie "Prestige"! Steampunk ON! *sweet*
  12. Looks like the dull chrome gold from the Vikinger king helmets to me...
  13. Grandpa, take of Indiana's clothes! >:-) Methusalem ON!
  14. Ren
  15. Yes... Erm... Yeah... Where shall I begin... Actually, erm.... yes.... Hmmm.... Should check the front page from time to time... :-$ :-P ;-)
  16. Link to source see above!
  17. Dunechasers Flickr Site wit an Indy image!!!
  18. New shield stickers!!! Never noticed them before, now I have to get this!!! >:-) Actually we pay even more, it's 49,99
  19. Thanks for the review, my favourite detail is the salad! :-D BTW, could you exchange the modules and make pics of that? I'd like to see how the building looks with the flat roof instead of the dutch style one. I'm not sure though if the vents on the flat roof makes sense as long as it's only used as a garage top... :-/ Maybe they should be removable as the balconies and such things to make the modularity leading not to weird results... Other than this: In combination with a lot of money and the Cafe Corner set this really could get me into city! ;-)
  20. There won't (most probably) be any new Viking sets in the future. :'-( Even if there were a huge Viking hype when the line started (at least in the AFOL community) they didn't sell very well after the introduction. That's why the Viking sets are on sale everywhere now (at least here in Germany - Hooray for 30
  21. if TLC's company policy would be as strict they shouldn't have gotten the licenses then! Or keep up the abstract character of the sets (i.e. megaphones instead of blasters,...). TLC's policy in this case is as weird as all other aspects of their policy. They lie ("10130 is NO TIE collection!"), they say things they change afterwards ("No more licenses from now on!"), they pretend to produce child-friendly products only (with lots of heavy weaponery in many themes like Dino Attack, Exo-Force, Batman,...). I could expand this to their economic policy (delivering many months in advance instead keeping up the catalogue's dates, sizing down the amount of produced sets to create delivery shortages in the christmas time, failcalculations for outputs in general, set availability for the different countries, weird pricing over the globe,... etc etc etc) TLC's wheels isn't round anymore since many years, it's more like a spooky, spikey, weird shaped thing that doesn't even roll in a straight direction anymore. Sorry, as much as I love the idea behind LEGO I dislike the company that produces it. The only thing that keeps me from broading my spectrum of construction toys to MB and competitors is the quality of the material, the quality of the ideas is already gone since many years IMO. |-/ Bitching OFF
  22. Thanks! I guess my first child will get this name! >:-) "Erm, you can call me... Tom!" :-D
  23. I nominate EVERY Bionicle name. I even nominate "Bionicle" itself! Oh, and while I think about it, I nominate "Exo-Force" too! Anybody ever thought about the meaning of "Exo-Force"? "Outside-Power"! Yippie-Ya-Yeah! Silly names ON!
  24. Hello all, sad news for the LEGO community: The dutch LEGO Fan and Designer of the new 10190 Market Street set has passed away. --> Lugnet announcement. My thoughts go to his family. :'-( :'-( :'-(
