  1. Heck that really helped me out as well. Thanks for asking 'joopsta' and thanks for this info 'Remydodge'
  2. Moved to top of wanted list... right under the Beetle. This would look great on my display shelf. I love the interior and so glad it is finally released
  3. I bought numerous sets off of a seller, or a couple that were sellers, that had a very nice feedback profile. 1000+ 100% positive feedback and then all of the sudden, BAM, June 2011 came! I don't know all the details or how many refunds were given. All I know is they are no longer registered users, probably forced by eBay. I never had problems with them apart from a little slow on shipping. Glad I wasn't part of that... Some people
  4. Yeah quite surprised they didn't go higher based on retail alone... I missed out on another lot of ten older green plates go for under $20 + ship. Wanted to try in on that. Oh well, win some, lose some, or totally forget to bid This morning a couple $5-$25 BL orders for instruction manuals and assorted parts
  5. That sounds like a nice area for a set up. I'm not going to bug you with a bunch of "what's going in" questions but, can't wait to see a new built. Promise no indoor grilling
  6. Great another start to a city. I'm excited to see it progress. How much available space do you have?
  7. I can't really help you with pre-made back drops but, if I were you, I'd try my hand a creating my own scene and take it to a printer or sign wall decor store/shop. I know of a few place near me that can take photos or other media and scan it and apply to wall paper. I can only hope there is a similar place near you. If your looking for a cartoony look you don't really need to have artistic advantage. Although if this is not the route you prefer, I'm sure someone else can give you a link or idea. Good luck, I hope you share the progress with us
  8. Neat set of late model truck MODs 'Hammer'. These would be great brick built. Any plans to do so? Keep up the great designs
  9. Awesome stage MOC 'Stefan'. I really like the lighting effect and great job on all the details on the stage and equipment. Keep up the great work
  10. I was in my dark age when they released the first two modulars. Had I not found a seller who let their MS and CC go for its original retail last December, I probably would have never got into modulars and would have hoped, as hard as I possibly could, for a re-release (unrealistic). No way I'd pay todays price. I actually started with the FB and GG just before it was discontinued, and really enjoyed building them. Though I wish the bags where numbered. Me being a high tempered jacka**, I made it even harder on myself, mixing all the pieces together when I couldn't find a piece needed (for the GG). Still it was a nice LONG build. As far as a re-release of the Cafe Corner or Market Street, more than likely a no-go. I don't think the AFOL community alone could make TLC to think twice. Adults love them but, the general market of kids trump us. So new modulars, especially with interiors are in. Apart from that 3 years really isn't very long for a model to be discontinued, heavily missed maybe. For those who can and are willing, I recommend investing in a couple FB's before they leave shelves. They believe they're price will be extremely high not only for being a modular but, these facts: It has the highest piece count of any modular to date, it's the only one with a vehicle, and has the first detailed interior. IMO, the best modular of the first three, possibly all five (haven't built GE or purchased PS yet). I planned to sit on a few FB's for a couple years as I have finally quite procrastinating and enrolled in college, so I will need so extra cash to keep collecting. Buying Lego > Selling Lego = Buying more Lego... Everybody wins
  11. Today was kind of a big day. Bricklinked 2 small orders, 2 6625 Police Speed Trackers, one large order and won eBay auctions of 3 new 4-way intersections, a lot of 19 plates including 3 sets of each of the new road plates for $39.88 + $10 ship, and a lot of 6571 Flame Fighters, 6340 Hook and Ladder, 6525 Blaze Commander, and another ladder truck that looks like 6493 Blaze Battler for $36.33 + $7 shipping. I will have to identify when it arrives
  12. Wow, this is really cool! Great job on the tornado. What is it F3, 4...5? Great idea to use books as a roofs. Definitely a very neat idea to build
  13. Great sports car 'de-marco'. This one looks like it has the front end of a 90's Corvette and the a** of a 50's Vette. All around a sweet looking ride
  14. Neat little truck here 'SAN'. It looks like an old Tata utility truck. Is it based off anything? Keep up the good work
  15. Sweet build for a sweet shop 'abear@hk'. I love seeing your creations and this one stands up with your other builds. A chocolatier shop was a great choice. Excellent job on the details. Very well done
  16. Neat MOC 'Aitoruco'. The engine has a very interesting and unique face. Yours looks quite like the real thing. Very well done
  17. Neat fire truck 'legofan'. I like all the storage and the that four firefighters can ride opposed to one. Great job
  18. Excellent store 'kciR'. Awesome idea for the CD shelfs and great job on the architecture. Keep up the great work
  19. This is quite ridiculous, Market Street did the same and I am sure Fire Brigade will be next. I spend way to much on Lego as is, so I am quite fine the price increase. I am not saying I would EVER spend $500+ on a single set, unless it was the 6399 Airport Shuttle with the track extension Maybe merge it with this topic?
  20. Today I won another 3181 Passenger Plane and finally bought 6552 Rocky River Retreat
  21. Sorry if I made a mistake. I've always associated MOD with "My Own Design" and "mod" or "Mod" short for modification or moderator
  22. I've had plenty of great deals through eBay but, I suppose my best was a friend gave me a storage bin filled with his and his brothers collection of Lego. Mostly Star Wars sets, I found the old Jango Fett and a few other minifigs that held some value.

    Car 60's

Neat car 'SAN'. Very interesting front end. It reminds me of a old Buick "boat". Keep up the great work
  24. Another fantastic MOC 'ss'. It looks great! Lots to look at, great job on the all the details. Keep up the great work
  25. I suppose the main market of individual rolling stock would be solely on AFOL or TFOL who are serious into show and exhibits. Oh, and those like me who just love have a long-a*s train. Overall yes, I do agree that it is not likely, nor cost effective for individual sale. At least plan B still works (buy whole sets for cars). I just didn't know the success of the TTX's or My Own Train's. I know they are sought after now but, where they a bust to the main children's market when available?
