  1. I recall there is a position with boom at highest position but jib at lowest which was slightly more compact? I’m not sure where i saw it before. I’d like to see how easy would the 2 ballast config be to mod, not the most playable but without it the crane looks quite naked at the back.
  2. Sorry, i wasn’t sure how to truncate them on mobile, it’s a bit fiddly. @kbalage Unrelated to value/weight but i do have a question: Is it feasible to disassemble the booms for transport without having to untie one of the ends of the strings? I couldn’t quite tell from the video. Also what is the most compact position you can display without the crane folding unto itself?
  3. 0.133 is with ballast, without it’s 0.165 which would put it right behind the BMW bike. I don’t think the weights are especially vital to the build, as they can be replaced by pretty much anything, and the parts themselves do not look especially expensive to produce given theu are made of lower quality plastic with much higher tolerances.
  4. So the weight of this set, without the ballast, is 4kg, which is nearly the same as the previous Control flagships? Edit: Sorry, those are ~500g lighter.
  5. Personally, my main gripe with this set is that it looks like a prototype, it’s like they’ve given up and decided to send it at the last minute after doing some minor touch-ups. Lego is capable of releasing proper sets at this price range, but this is really half-assed, bafflingly so. The Liebherr license here is worthless for authenticity, it’s only a sales driver. I could look past this at a lower price point, but even at a discount i’m out. There’s just so much more LEGO i’d consider buying before i end up scraping the barrel. In the end, it’s about what you get for the money, and this is nowhere near a 700€ set to me.
  6. Somehow the crane makes the bulldozer look like good value in comparison. Maybe not in functions (RC ladder lol) but certainly in price and looks. Also i would like to add more as a question, how much space do you need to run the crane’s functions? I can tell it’s a pain to display, even more so than the 2 previous control flagships. For example the excavator is fairly reasonable for it’s size but the CAT needs a stupid amount of space because it’s main function is moving things around.
  7. Anyone got some more screenshots from sariel's review? Wondering about the price/value of this as it looks barebones compared to the BMW.
  8. Even with discount it is not likely to break below the 35% mark, which would put it on par with the CAT’s old retail price of 450€. The most expensive LEGO i bought was the Liebherr excavator at 310€, and i managed to get a very good deal on the CAT before the price hike at about 250€. I am not willing to pay 450€+ on the newest flagship when the previous one is in a way lower price bracket. I find the discounted price offensive to even consider on a single lego set. The high asking price sets considerable expectations, the crane even if pretty despite it’s many inaccuracies just does not meet.
  9. I've been "banned" from B&P before, after insisting for about a month with emails, they reviewed my account and fixed the issue. Banned in quotes because they claimed it was an order / system issue, not a full fledged ban. If you'd like to avoid issues, i was told to use the contact form before or instead of making a missing bricks order with more detail about the order. Most of my orders were either for sticker issues or glaring scratches and color differences, although my advice here is if a set has over 50% of parts affected (like the Vespa), don't bother, the replacements will also have color problems.
  10. is a 4x6cm zipgbag enough to store a regular sized cmf? or do i have to go one size up at 6x8cm? i have nothing this small to compare to.
  11. I've taken the back section apart and checked every part of the gearbox for friction, it runs ok, the only sources of strain i've found are the pitch control assembly and the rear rotor. The motor sounds a bit buzzy so i'm thinking it might just be a defective one.
  12. Is the motor supposed to have a noticeable smell after running? It also has a tendency to stall or cut power on the high speed mode and i can't figure out if it's a gearbox issue or a motor issue.
  13. Unsure how revelant to the topic it is but there was a pricing error (up until yesterday) on the romanian lego shop listing this set at 210 ron (or 42 euro). Managed to grab one and it arrived today, unsealed and in bad shape but seems complete.
  14. This seems like the place to ask, are there any good mods to help rigidize the daytona's flimsy fuselage, without affecting the look of the car? Compared to the sian, it feels like any wrong move could make the thing break up in pieces.
  15. No real news but local distributor had the set available online for about an hour or two by accident, went to their store to check and they told me to come back by 1st.
  16. Got the pic, thanks//
  17. the 2H2015 wave is fantastic, though, i can buy only one of them (i already have the Unimog). I don't have any crane set yet also . I will be waiting for the june-july pre-release reviews to be sure which one.
