On my SSD (post to follow next week) I used some technic and 'Bionicle' parts to hold the lower deck in place in the aft sections, and . . . well, you'll see how I did the upper deck and front lower deck area. Underside view showing my fixxing method for upper deck and front lower deck. IMG_2772 by neil cook, on Flickr Internal view of how I used Bionicle parts to hold (and adjust) the lower deck in place. (Admittedly I only did it once or twice and dared not do it again. ) BTW . . . my SSD was over 7 feet long.

Thanks Slurpifier. I have a week off work next week and plan to get to grips with one of the Lego CAD applications. If I can then I may set about redesigning this model a little, incorporating Ironfish's suggestion to tile over the studs. I have a few ideas alread on possible mods. If I do manage a revamp I'll probably make up a limited number of kits to sell through eBay. If you are still interested when the time comes I'll make sure to PM you with the head's up.

I'll update my album on Flicr and then post some images here, hopefully over the weekend.

Very nicely done. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Thanks LegoPercyJ and Azrielsc. It's always nice to hear when ones work is appreciated.

Having a bit of a mid life crisis . . . but hey, it's Lego that's being bought not a sports car . . . and when I see posts like this my genetic collector kicks in, an dlast night I bought about 5 different DK books with minifigs. Then this morning on another thread someone commented that the Microfighters were not one of the best Lego SW products, and I agreed, though I saluted the business model of minifigs and space ships at a low price point, but decried the lack of 'design' features. . . Guess what? MLC! Checked out how many standard sets there are (not including SDCC and other convention releases) - 12 - and 9 are on offer in Tescos Direct. . . So I should be picking up 9 brand new Microfighters this weekend!
-
[20 minutes later] Awww . . . Nuts! Looked on Tesco Direct to see how many of the Microfighters they had available . . . all 12 (not including SDCC and other special releases), 9 of which are on offer . . . with bonus loyalty points too. . . Darn You MLC!!!!

I've never been a fan of the microfighters on principle. To me thay are just an opportunistic way to sell more 'fan' lego at a lower price point. I salute the business idea, but as a lover of design features these fall well short of the mark. Having said that, I'm going through a bit of a mid life crisis at the moment and lible to start collecting anything if I can pick up a full set . . . (not kidding as yesterday I bought all the Advent calendars from 2011 to 2014).

[The Force Awakens MOC] TIE/cs "Blinder" Close-Support Superio
NNOPMOC replied to Seltz's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I have two MOC projects (one I've posted) to properly draw up on LCAD or whichever, and I'd like to attempt some design work before I start buying bricks. I've got another TIE project in mind.- 4 replies

Aha! . . . I didn't say which month, did I ?! . . . *Ahem* . . . Well spotted that man. Just checking to see if anyone was paying attention. [MONDAY 1st? . . . You mean I've gotta wait two more days? Looks like I'll be headed over there straight from work then.] I'm tempted to get the new Imperial Shuttle (though I'm more of a UCS ship collector), which is already listed on eBay (£79.99) - but I prefer to go to the MK shop and get the VIP points.

Thank you. Yes, it would have been nice to tile it properly. Unfortunately I only managed to finish it about two weeks before flying out and was on an extended shift (away from home) until shortly before I left so had no time effect any further modifications. I think that if I ever re-engineer this model using some current pieces, I will tile it for a smoother effect.

Hi All Three years ago I was going to see a good friend in the US. I knew he was a Star Wars and a Lego fan, and he had recently bought some sets that included speeder bikes, and had commented on FB about how he loved the little speeder bikes. So, having already completed one major MOC earlier that year (in a post to follow) and with the building buzz still fizzing in my blood, I 'threw' this together in about two to three months. PIC_0871 by neil cook, on Flickr I don't remember the statistics for this model except that it was about 32 inches long and had over 600 pieces. PIC_0875 by neil cook, on Flickr The control arms and laser canon moved, the front steering/deflectors could be adjusted, and the foot pedals, when pressed, opened the flaps at the back. PIC_0880 by neil cook, on Flickr PIC_0873 by neil cook, on Flickr I hope you like it.

Any UK buyers looking to grab an early released set at T'R'U in Bedford? Don't waste the petrol. Yet again they appear to be behind the curve when it comes to set releases . . . even though other stores appear to be getting them early. I'll be waiting outside the door of MK Lego Store at 9:30am on Sat 1st. BTW, the last two days that I've looked on the Lego (UK) site, I've noticed that the 75095 UCS Tie Fighter is no longer listed on the Star Wars page, but you can still find it on a search. Odd, huh?
-
Hi duboismerci, Thanks for that. Where are you getting the prices from? I'm seeing very little in my searches for UK release dates and prices. If you have a link that would be great. Looking at Grievous, and one site I read, he has about twice the number of pieces as other sets, so the $35 price point (hopefully closer to £25 than £30 in the UK) sounds about right.

Hi Lobot Thanks for the welcome and heads up on the future sets thread. I had wanted to use this thread for a theme specific discussion (Battle Figures). It may only be of interest to a relative few people and by sticking it in a larger, more generic discussion I think the flow would be lost. Hi Kaitan. I absolutely agree that Lego gives the ladies a raw deal in terms of figures, and articulated figures in particular. I think the Bionicles only had one (out of the six main characters), Toa Gali (or whichever the 'blue' one was called in other sets), and one in the Hero Factory series, if memory serves. I was hoping that someone would suggest Leia, and Padmé is an obvious choice to go with the Prequal trilogy figures (which would necessitate an Anakin figure too) . . . and who wouldn't want the Jabba's Sail Barge/Slave Leia figure. . .

BTW, as both the Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker figures were featured in the Toy Fair 2015 exhibition, I'm going to hazard a wild guess that they will be in the Summer release schedule along with the Imperial Assault carrier. . . So only two weeks to wait and see?
-
Hi All Firstly, let me say this is a great site. I'd like to start a new thread on the upcomming Battle Figure releases for the Summer/Fall. For those of you not sure what I'm talking about, here's a link to the Bricker site. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and the others are on the next page. http://bricker.info/sets.html?year=2015&family=Star+Wars&page=2 The sets due (?) for release this year are as follows: 75107 - Jango Fett 75108 - Clone Commander Cody 75109 - Obi Wan Kenobi (Clone Wars) 75110 - Luke Skywalker (ROJ) 75111 - Darth Vader 75112 - General Grievous (looking at the size of this figure it could be a larger set than the others). I don't know about anyone else, but as a long time Bionicle fan I am very excited about these figures [see the damp patch]. So, my question to you is (in case you didn't get the direction of this thread), what figures would you like to see in the future? The scope of characters to choose from is huge, and the current released figures cover the Original trilogy and the Prequal trilogy. I'll start you off with a few that I'd definitely love to see (sticking with movie characters for the moment): Stormtrooper - Original trilogy Obi Wan Kenobi - Original trilogy Darth Maul Tie Fighter Pilot (can't imagine him in any fight scenes on the living room floor . . . *ahem* . . . but I want one anyway) Jar Jar Binks . . . HA! KIDDING! Over to you.

Just checked with the UK MK store and they are getting their Summer range in on June 1st (she said). Not checked in with T"R"U yet. I feel your pain Nokturn. It's always the other guy's store, isn't it. Going back to my "Battle Figures" comment yesterday, I did a search of this thread for previous mentions of this set series. Only a couple and most of them not supportive. . I guess you like what you like. Having been a big Bionicle fan since day one I find these figures are exactly the kind of thing I had been hoping for since the early 2000's when Bionicle came out. Now that the Hero Factory range (not such a big fan - USERPERS!) added new pieces increasing the poseability of Lego figures by an order of magnitude, I think now is a great time to release something like this. One member (sorry, I forgot your name) suggested the price point would be $30 (OUCH!), but I found a pre-review on YouTube that suggests the price point will be more like $20 (so probably £18 - £20 in the UK . . . ). Here's a link. If they follow the Bionicle trend, they could release two lots of six figures a year. Goodness knows there are enough characters to choose from. As soon as I am able I will start a dicussion thread on exactly that topic.

On the May 4th weekend I went a little crazy as I hadn't indulged my Lego passion for many years . . . and bought: 75095 - Tie Fighter 75060 - Slave 1 10240 - Red Five Then I bought 10227 - B-Wing from eBay a few days later. So, no holiday for me this year.

Very nicely done. I love the landscaping. I'm just being picky here (as a certified pedant) but technically... the Black Knight scene happened in his camp at an earth covered log bridge across a ditch that Arthur and Patsy could have jumped over (that being part of the joke). Your bridge is more reminiscent of scene 24 with the Bridgekeeper. But who doesn't love a Star Wars / Monty Python crossover!

My closest one is in Rushden, near Northampton. Nada. I'm hoping that the MK Lego store are going to give me an excuse to go see them today, and if so I'll check whether Biscester are open and whether they have anything. Maybe, if we ask greg3 nicely he wouldn't mind making purchases for us and shipping them? How about it greg3? If you have a Paypal account I'd love to get at least three bags (one each for my sons and one for . . . *ahem* . . . um . . . a spare?).

I quite agree. I've only been on this forum since today, started in the MOC thread then came here looking for 2015 set info, and after trawling through dozens of pages it seems to me that things are drifting off topic a bit. Surely all the 'favorites' and 'critiques' discussions can take place elsewhere. I, for one, am looking forward to the "Battle Figures" due out later this year. I've no idea when, but suspect it may be in September (but if it's next month . . . YAY!). I apologize if they have been discussed before, but if anyone needs reminding, here is a link to a great site that appears to list all the current known 2015 sets, with place markers for the TFA sets (I suspect). http://bricker.info/...tar Wars&page=2 I sincerely hope this Battle Figure range is one that grows and grows with two releases of 6 figures a year.

Thanks for that. I'l try and find a local branch.
