I caved in and ordered 75222 Betrayal at Cloud City. It was on sale for €250 (RRP is €350 here) so that's a better deal. Especially looking forward to the figs.

LEGO Star Wars 2019 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

Forget about the Lando-fig and this new Snowspeeder might even be worse than the 2014 version. It's basically the same build and the same old canopy, but: - Inaccurate minifigs (pilots with "X-wing" jumpsuits instead of Hoth-jumpsuits) - Nothing to shoot at for the Snowspeeder (Snowtrooper) - $40 instead of $30 while only having 31 more pieces If they gave it a new canopy and new helmets for the pilots, I would've probably bought 2 instead of none. -

There's a new promo image with the official name of a new range of SW sets: Star Wars Action Battle Sets 75238 75239 75240 Edit: the image also mentions 75236, 75240 and 75242 as "new models" for April 2019. -

What does this mean? No hoping allowed because it's Boba Fett's Slave I or no hoping allowed in general for this topic? I would prefer Boba's Slave I, but Jango's would probably make more sense. -
Just sold my Black VIP Card Frame for €80,00 and bought Vader's Castle on sale for €79 from Amazon France. Didn't really care about the frame and the fig, so I basically got Vader's Castle for free :).

Great deals on Amazon UK today! Really glad they ship to the Netherlands. Got the Sandcrawler (48% off compared to Dutch MSRP) and the Imperial Landing Craft (42% off compared to Dutch MSRP).

Thanks for the review! I've said it before, but for me LEGO was really close to hitting the nail on the head with this set. Now I'm left with a bag of mixed feelings. There are several great things (the minifigs, the cloud car, detailing of the rooms), but the landing platform and the shape ruin some of my excitement for this set. There is also a lot of wasted space (grey platform), while some areas are really cramped (sensor balcony/carbon freezing chamber). I made a quick mock-up of how I wished the set would look like (rounder shape and changes per section): Section 1: dining room, white hall (with access to section 2) and the small living area look perfect, no changes there. Replace the small maintenance area for the entrance door with access to the detachable landing platform. Section 2: accomodates the dark red hall with access to section 3, the interrogation room, the prison cell and garbage processing room. Section 3: a whole section for the carbon freezing chamber with stairs/walkway and part of the final duel hallway with access to section 4. Section 4: final duel area with maintenance cabin and the sensor balcony. No flooring here, but a rail as used in the Death Star (bottom-left section) to keep the disc shape.

PRESS RELEASE for LEGO 75222 - Betrayal at Cloud City Announcement

Another thought: I really hope the Luke fig used for the photoshoot has some kind of misprint on the torso. The lines on the chest pockets are stangely thin compared to the ones on the legs and look quite grainy. The printing is just not that crisp. Weird though, because it only affects the pockets. -
The Harry Potter figure pack seems to have sold out on the Dutch TRU website. That’s within a day. They also took down the dedicated banners on the site, so I guess it’s not coming back.

PRESS RELEASE for LEGO 75222 - Betrayal at Cloud City Announcement
bountybossk replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I thought about it quite a bit, but two levels would make it hard to keep the disc shape. It would also restrict the space for playability. Multiple levels for an orb like the Death Star: no problem. Multiple levels for a disc: not ideal. Another advantage of the one level disc shape with 4 segments is that every segment shows a chapter from the movie in chronical order. I agree about the landing platform. It kind of ruins the shape. I would probably take it of if the final design looked like my mock-up. -

Oof LEGO, you were so close to hitting the nail on the head with this set. The minifigs sell it for me and all the small vignettes look great. However, as one big thing it looks quite messy. The micro city on top looks great and I love how they tried to recreate the disc shape of Cloud City, but it's ruined because of one thing: the landing platform. That thing looks incredibly dull and takes up way too much space. It even forces the carbon freeze chamber and the final duel in one segment. With a few changes this set could've been almost perfect. For both play and display purposes. I made a quick sketch in LDD and I'm thinking about remodelling the set once the instructions come online. Section 1: dining room, white hall (with access to section 2) and the small living area look perfect, no changes there. Other things I don't really like/would change: The Twin Pod Cloud Car is essential to the set, the midi Slave I could've been left out (although it looks fantastic). I would've loved a new mould for Carbonite Han. Probably not popular, but change the color of Lando's head from reddish brown to medium nougat like the Billy Dee Williams Two-Face fig. I feel reddish brown is too dark and makes his print hardly visible. -

Welcome to Eurobricks! Most info on new sets will appear first on this forum. I hate to break it to you, but your info about CC and it’s leaked figs has been circulating in this thread for over a few months now. Besides that, it’s strictly forbidden to post images of leaked figs/sets on this forum. Keep that in mind :). -

Ok wow... I've just seen the German catalogue for 2018 2HY. The new X-Wing is €100,00?! I normally don't complain about prices, but this is outrageous (if true). This thing is supossed to be $80,00 in the US. How the hell is the same set $115,00 in Germany... X-wing, 4 figs, 731 pieces: €100,00. Hogwarts Great Hall, 10 figs, 878 pieces: €100,00. -

There's another big Star Wars sets coming, besides the new UCS MF! I wonder what it will be! Source: Hans Burkhard (designer of UCS Slave I and the new UCS MF) in Brickset's comment section

It has been rumored that the set would not only include the OT and ST minifigs, but also includes a round dish and the rectangle one seen in TFA. So you can choose which one to use. All signs show this rumor is correct. And my opinion: this is absolutely 100% the real thing.
