  1. The OT collectors that got shafted with this wave can wait.
  2. The Lego Architecture line: the most overpriced sets there are. Unless you really, really like the building, I'd suggest never buying one.
  3. Supposedly Kershner was asked to direct Phantom Menace but declined. What could have been...
  4. While the Lucas figure would be nice to have, I'd much rather have an Irvin Kershner figure instead.
  5. For now it's a very rare figure. It'll either shoot up in value as the years go on or it will be a figure they include in future sets (like a 1 in 10,000 figure). Considering it was just given to you it will likely get to the public at some point.
  6. I highly doubt anyone in charge of Lego themes, one of the nerdiest jobs there is, would ever consider Star Wars to be some "stupid space movie".
  7. How do you guys consider this small? The Bantha is the same size as an elephant (in the movies it was an elephant in costume). If anything, it's a little too small! Looks great though.
  8. All the wishful talk I've heard recently about a UCS Cloud City has got me excited about one, and how dissapointed I'll be if they don't make one. So if they don't...I want to build my own! I'd like some advice from others with my current design thoughts. So to start, we'll take an existing playset that is great and similar to what I'd want in a Cloud City, the Death Star. To better illustrate all the rooms in the Death Star I'm going to show all the rooms in one big strip. Using the same format, I'll show the layout of my vision of Cloud City. Since Cloud City isn't a circle but more of an oval, the shape needs to be longer and shorter. Blue: Elevator Green: Doorway (Gate/Archway/Door/Broken Window) Red: Trapdoor Top Floor: This basically need to be a big black circle for the floor, with the landing pad and landing pad walkway raised up about an inch. This is the most optional part of the set, but I feel a landing pad is really important and doesn't work if it's off to the side of the set. Carbon Freezing Chamber: This room is important and needs to fit a lot of minifigs in it; therefore, it should be a huge room. Duel Room: I'm sure this room has an official name. This room will feature the broken window from the old Cloud City set to move to the next room in the duel. Extension: This room will need to feature the lower lever as part of it, Luke needs to fall a pretty good distance. The bottom of the room will be sloped so that Luke will funnel towards the trapdoor, which when open will let you have Luke grab the railing under the city to wait for the Falcon. Meeting Room: Prison: Torture Room: Bedroom: I don't have a picture of this. The room they're in when Lando comes to take them to Vader. So, that's it. Just imagine walls separating the rooms like on the Death Star except for the top floor, which is one big open area. If they made an offical set with this design it would likely cost the same as the Death Star assuming the same number of minifigs and a new Cloud Car. Good design? Needs work? Let me know what you'd do to make it better, or even a completely different design. I just want a good Cloud City!
  9. Lars Homestead. Ages 6 and up. 432 pcs.
  10. Oh no, the Empire is attacking your home and burning you alive! Quick, into the moisture farm command center! The moisture vaporators open up to reveal hidden flick fire missiles to take down the bad guys. With the Lars Homestead, you're ready for any battle. Cones with battle damaged Owen and Beru Lars!
  11. He just commented that they don't do storyboards for UCS sets because of playability so it's unlikely he received a UCS Cloud City. Then again, the UCS Death Star is the most playable set there is. But still, very unlikely.
  12. Warner Bros owns Travelers Tales. They've said a LOTR Lego game would "definitely work". With the Hobbit and the LOTR trilogy, isn't it inevitable that were going to have a new set line?
  13. http://www.fbtb.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=4718&start=20 An artist for Lego that has early access to 2011 sets.
  14. The UCS Lobot was just a joke / possible hint. No one thinks there's going to be a UCS Lobot, that would be the worst selling SW set ever.
  15. Forgive me if you've already answered this before, but are the Legos you use all from your own personal collection? You say you've built many dioramas for a Lego store so I was wondering if they were suppling you with parts. I stumbled across your work before I even knew of this site. Incredibly impressive, you should be working for Lego if you aren't already.
  16. It would be funny if we got a new sandcrawler considering everyone here told me that it was incredibly unlikely they'd make a new one. Ugh, I guess I'll hold off getting one now to see if they make one. What would be even better though is if they make Lars homestead and throw in a Jawa, tusken raider, and Bantha. All this UCS Cloud City stuff is getting me too excited, hopefully he comes clean soon on whether the Lobot quip was a clue or just general bs.
  17. Honestly though, I would want it in the Death Star price range. Cloud City is my favorite place in all the movies so I don't want a half-assed version, they need to go all out. All the rooms of the original set plus the prison, bedroom, and torture room. Possibly a spot underneath the set where Luke can drop out from and catch the railing under the city. Put some walls between rooms like the Death Star so it isn't one big clusterf**k. If you're going to make Cloud City, do it right!
  18. Could it be the Jedi that turned Anakin back to the light side and established the New Jedi Order? Yes, I believe it is. Luke is the greatest Jedi, I'd say even greater than Obi, Yoda, or Anakin. Considering that Lucas won't let him die in the EU, his accomplishments just keep on growing.
  19. The UCS Lobot was just a joke given the context, he was naming something that will never be made. Although, we can always hope it was a subtle hint that Lobot is in one of the future sets....
  20. If they make a UCS Cloud City similar to the design of the Death Star set I will probably pee my pants. So far, this has been a huge letdown for the OT collectors. While an Endor battlepack is somewhat needed, it's not enough.
  21. Maybe the Genosis and Endor battlepacks with bemore like Echo Base, a battle scene with fighters for both sides. But yes, this is very dissapointing. I want some big sets! (I'll still be buying the Endor pack regardless)
  22. IG-88. Had the Rebels not had multiple strokes of good luck and blown up Death Star II, IG-88 would have used it to overthrow the empire with the robot revolution.
  23. It has everything to do with him not being written yet. It still doesn't change the fact though. As for Vader, 30 years had passed and lots of droids look alike. There's always the joke though that he didn't let Boba shoot Chewbacca because he might have hit C3P0. There is a lot of retconning in SW obviously, but most of it can be ignored.
  24. Rancor in a new Jabba's Palace set. Bantha in a small Tusken Raiders set.
  25. On the grounds that Bane is not mentioned once by anyone, even in the EU, once Episode III rolls around. Cad is going to die before CW ends, likely in a way that kills any legacy he had to keep the EU intact. I wouldn't be surprised if Boba is the one that does him in, giving Boba's history when interacting with other bounty hunters. I think most of the hatred of Cad is the fact that he is a direct knockoff of Clint Eastwood in the Dollars trilogy. The topic should be "Who is deadlier: Cad Bane or Blondie?"
