So this Battle Of Geonosis is the AOTC one? But there are no stun tanks there. And what is a Redeco AAT? Or this "Oxegon Destroyer Decaled Tactical droid"? I do hope you'll get a bit more concrete info soon
-
Wow..seriously? That would be awesome... I hope they improve the design of Anakin's Y-Wing though, it had some major design flaws. commanderneyo, it would be great if you could give some more details - what about the Republic Frigate, and the Endor set we've heard about? Are those true as well? Anyways, thanks for telling us!

I'm just asking because I'm thinking about buying a few more JSFs and it wouldn't make sense if there was only one (Anakins). So even though there are as many Etas on a Venator as ARC 170s or V-Wings, there is no proof they were ever used by clones? -

Hi!I have seen that a Venator usually carries 190 Eta-2 Actis interceptors. So are they flewn by normal clone pilots too? I have never seen one with a non-jedi as pilot. -
That's the problem, 10 Rebels and 10 Imperials wouldn't be enough for a big battle. The ratio of 1 bunker to 1 AT-ST to 2 soldiers is wrong if you want a realistic fight. It would look stupid to have that many walkers and catapults with only a few troops. But whatever happens, we will get a new Endor set soon enough, especially since BoE should be out of production by now. If we don't get anything in 2011, there's still the very probably Endor BPs for 2012.
-
You only need one Imperial bunker, one Han, one Leia and one R2. Let's say you want to have 10 Endor rebels (which isn't too much), you also end up with 5 At-St's, 10 speeder bikes, 5 catapults and 5 gliders - way too much. A "Echo Base" - style Battle of Endor for about 25 € would be perfect. A few Rebel soldiers, stormies (none in 8038!), a bike and some plants/trees.

Do you really think TLG will release sets that depict some of the least kid-friendly scenes of Star Wars? Lego is still a toy for kids. A set with Palpatine's office and the 4 Jedi is possible imo, but not the sets you've proposed here. "Betray your beloved Jedi with the Betrayal on Felucia set! Enjoy shooting an unarmed Jedi in the back and help the dark side of the Force gain control of the galaxy." Order 66 sets are so not going to happen. I'm pretty sure we'll get all these Jedi sooner or later, though. The January 2011 wave includes three new Jedi, and it's a small wave. Ki-Adi Mundi or Stass Allie will be released as minifigs soon enough.

When do we usually get pictures of the exclusive sets? I appreciate the new blasters. One of the Mandalorians has a normal short blaster, but the guy with the two pistols definitely has new ones.

Which is your favourite upcoming Lego minifigure in 2011?
Supersonic replied to commanderneyo's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I don't need any bounty hunters. Saesee Tin for me, closely followed by Shaak Ti. But I have started liking Tin a lot lately. Plus, his minifig looks great so far. -
I'm sure this has been said before, but I didn't see it yet, so here we go: Acclamator-class Republic Assault ship. Bigger than the minifig ISD, with big rooms for weapons, troops etc. and 6 episode II clones (not TCW). Maybe a Clone Commander, a General of some kind or a new Jedi. Price 150-200$. @General Magma: They wouldn't call it Battle of Mygeeto, they'd call it UT-AT. Which is the most logical name, they didn't call the AT-TE with STAP Battle of Teth ;)

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Eta-class_shuttle It's not that ugly, but it would be nearly impossible to build it as a lego set.
-
Another jedi shuttle that serves nearly the same purpose? Can't imagine that. It would just look too fragile as a set. What about (spoiler from newest TCW episode)
-
Well, we have seen Vos in TCW, but there's no sign of Saesee Tin yet - so if they had wanted to cut someone in order not to spoil something from the show it would have been Tin. No, I think the reason, Vos is not in the T6 is simply that they saved him for another set, probably one about the episode with Ziro and him. Or they just thought that three new figs in one set is too much.
-
Yeah, I saw one like this in a shop too. Looks pretty awesome, considering it is made mainly of standard bricks.
-
I agree on the 7/10 score. Not bad, not exceptionally good either. I just wish season 3 could come up with episodes like this. Thanks for the great reviews def and Oky Wan!
-
Of course it's stupid that the chronology is so hard to understand. Just wanted to point that out, IF you know it it really helps understand the episode.
-
You should maybe change your final verdict, as this episode is indeed a prequel. From Starwars.com about Assassin. So it's easier to believe that Windu doesn't think of the Death Watch. I quite liked the episode - some nice action, amazing animation with the Venator. Of course, R2 beating up the Gundarks was silly, but I'd give it 7-8/10.
-
I do! We're still lacking really good pictures of the set anyways. Do you really hate the AT-AT driver this much? He looks very much like the one in TESB. Yes, that one looks stupid already, but TLG sticks to the real designs no matter how ugly they are. From the pictures we have, the ARF looks just fine. Like the one we saw on Ryloth. I like it.

A UCS Cloud City would be the right thing to satisfy OT fans. Or they could redesign a Y-Wing/A-Wing/B-Wing, or do a Yavin Base, or a minifig scale Mon Calamari Cruiser...seriously, there is so much OT stuff still waiting to be done. I really want a standalone A-Wing - I won't pay 140€ for the MCC just for the fighter It is a real disappointment that both exclusive sets are TCW - many special edition sets were OT/PT, like MCC, Swamp Speeder or Rebel Blockade Runner. We can still hope for a random march release, like LAAT/c wth AT-OT.
-
Combination I like both trilogies and I find The Clone Wars enjoyable(though the movies are better, of course). However, I still hate it when TLG does sets like the Freeco Speeder or the Halo, they are just so utterly unimportant.
-
Well said Brickdoctor By the way, the old movies still are on TV every few months. It's not that unlikely that kids watch them there - I personally am much too young to have seen the OT in theatres, and I still loved it after seeing the movies in TV.
-
The problem is that there aren't too many possible sets from AotC. Sure, a few big Geonosis sets are due, with some Geonosians, and maybe something from Tatooine with a real Watto minifig. But big parts from the film can't be made into sets - like the part with Anakin & Padme on Naboo, or the Kamino clone facility. Sure, Kamino would be cool but also extremely boring for kids. Here's to a really, really big Geonosian arena set some time. That reminds me - the Geonosian Starfighter this summer or the rumored Geonosian BP could be very awesome.
-
Thanks for the good review! The set is very nice, at the very least it contains a lot of good parts. So where does one get this?
-
There certainly are differences between US and European boxes. I experienced exactly the same with two CATDs - one European, one US - and they had completely different boxes (though I can't remember which one had the flaps ;)). The AT-AT is kinda disappointing. Not as well designed as the 2004 one and to little space in the interior. But more figs and a rather low price just save it.

I actually quite liked this episode. I'm no big OT fan so the characterization of Boba isn't a problem for me - he's a kid after all, I liked how he couldn't kill this clone when he should have. The setting was different and the action wasn't bad either. Some little problems though: How easy can it be for a kid to destroy a whole Venator? Why is there so little security and why aren't there any alternative power generators? I'm ok with Ventress infiltrating the Venator in "Cloak of Darkness", she is a dark Jedi after all. But someone like Boba? As def said, how could Windu not feel Boba's fury? And also: Exactly this. AOTC showed that even nearly full grown clones were still training in Kamino.
