  1. Absinthe! not the most common pirate drink but a nice change. Nothing messes you up like absinthe. All my MOCs suffer this sad fate....if only you could see them in real life or through a good lens I'm sure they would be far more enjoyable to view......I might need to stop buying LEGO for a while and invest in a good DSLR. It's amazing how much depth of field you loose through a crap camera. Or is it just a bad crafts-man blaming his tools?
  2. Cheers for the kind words guys. I've used both the flash and natural light, otherwise the photos come out grainy when using just one light source. My camera is a point and click and the steps between exposure are huge, so it's a choice between under or over exposure. With studio lights or lamps I could do a lot better even with my lame camera but these are things I don't have access to. Any one that wants to send me a DSLR just PM me.
  3. Your not the only one put out, just look at miss Swans expression of disappointment at the lame "swingers" party. Not sure what's going on there.... looks a bit fishy to me.
  4. Oh it's not that sort of swinging party then...... 104_2791 by Taz-Maniac, on Flickr
  5. Are you doing the time warp again?

  6. Congrats on the new tag buddy!

  7. Well done your BP looks great , very close to the design seen in the new video game though your windows are better IMO. Lets hope TLG brings us a ship as nice as this one later in the year.
  8. Check the first post on page one.
  9. Just a heads up to Aussie heads, I waited four days without reply to message. I called back at 9:10 am and got straight though to a rep...........still haven't had a call back though and it's almost a week now. So my advice would be Don't leave multi messages (as they ask you not to), but do try to get through in the morning.
  10. NOT BY ME Who said you can't use other themed figs in your pirate mocs. EB member Captain spaulding shows us how it's done with out loosing the pirate feel. MOC Bar pirates LP! by "Captain Spaulding", on Flickr Let him know what you think of this great MOC. Why he didn't share this himself I don't know but It needs a look.
  11. I'm of two minds on this one..1) I think it's a bad move saying a Minifig is "exclusive" ( that's how it is advertised ) to the game pre orders then releasing it a few weeks/months later as a poly bag.... I feel lied to about its exclusiveness! 2) I think it's great that non gaming FOLs can get their hands on this cool fig but it should have been advertised as a "promotional" fig not "exclusive". My two cents.
  12. Just got off the phone to a very helpfull LEGO Australia rep, Who just so happens to be an AFOL and explained the gold issue to him ( I guess I'm the first here as he had not heard of it) and he sent an email to Denmark on my behalf and has ordered the replacement piece for me. He said two packs would be sent and that one would be pre-packed and the other a chrome kit ? There is a note added to the set on his data base so it looks as though LEGO has made this common knowledge world wide so you should not have trouble getting your gold if you speak to a LEGO customer service rep. The parts have to come from Denmark so It'll be two weeks before I get them but that's no biggy. Go LEGO for awesome after sale service .
  13. Try not to bump your threads it bumps every one else down, I know is hard when it seems no one has paid any attention to your question but them's the breaks. As to your question have you searched the forum for inspiration? There are a lot of great ships here many with detailed interiors and custom rigging (the first thing I would recommend). These are mine but there are plenty more out there you just need to look. http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=51947 http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=50098 Some shameless self promotion
  14. Can't believe no one commented on the dope plants in the second post.. might want to remove that incase the kiddies see it or worse a LEGO rep. Micro-fiber is your friend it's like a dust magnet and comes in all shape, sizes and forms
  15. Even as a teen in my dark age I remember pulling out my lego box and building all my sets with my girlfriend at the time. My family all think it's great, I converted my older brother by rebuilding his black falcons sets for him and dropping them at his house. With in weeks he was collecting SW sets as was his partner...thier son gets the odd set too but I think that's just for good messure. Any one that knows me well would not bat an eye lid at my LEGO habbit, and are even more suportive when they see my MOCs. Be proud people we are the brave few.
  16. I called them today and had to leave a message for a call back...is that the norm here in ? I've never had to contact them before. Cheers Mate

  17. Living in Australia it's hard not to look at US prices and think we're getting a raw deal over here. But if you look at the minimum wage in both countries it all seems fair enough. LEGO is a luxury item and must be treated as such.
  18. A limpet eh? When I saw your title I knew what to expect....... well sort of. Are you on a SiFi stint ? I hope this Limet was not taken from the wild, (that's a no no here) but I hear they make a funky brew if you boil them up and drink the tea.....those wacky crustations! Great stuff as usual ISC.
  19. Hoew did you contact LEGO about your POTC gold? email or phone?

  20. VDJSPW = Voodoo Jake Sparrow Great review !..... Now off to get my crome gold from LEGO!
  21. Got my 4181 today with the pearl gold bits and jumped straigh on the phone to LEGO support AU/NZ. Had to leave a message and I'm now waiting for a call back, lets hope they look after me as other countries have done!
  22. That pic of Davey Jones is from the new game (along with over 70+ others) If this theme continues there are some great molds to come too ( if the game is anything to go by).
  23. Cheers Big Cam but the initial build was 4 hours but now I'm well above that though it's hard to keep track of due to tweaking bits here and there and no "non-stop " building in the refining stage. Cheers Gabe, I'd thought about a few of those things but lacked the size to do them justice. As the main structure is built in a clearing there is very little movement in the ground but if I expand I can start to build some hight in the landscape, larger trees, a stream for my fisherman/forestman.
  24. A Ford dealer what is this?? Where's the Holden dealer Just kidding I'm not one of those. A great start LT (korny) but I'll stick with John Deere for all my tractor needs.
  25. It has a very late 70's early 80's LEGO feel to it with lots of colour and basic bricks used...is that the look your after or are you low on elements? A good start either way.
