  1. K whoever said Bionicle designers dont care....I dunno that'ssuper pessimistic, but I would not be surprised if Bionicle ended in 2017. I am glad that I own at least some of the sets! Also, I hooe the character bios get uodated soon....and I hope for some toa wallpapers!
  2. Ive already built Gali and I very mich like this custom built torso they've come up with. Her masks are stellar, her colours are excellent...but I feel like she needsAkida. She's nice, and I think the spear isnt a bad weapon. Also built Ikir...who is a bit underwhelming for me. The wng function is fun...but Im not enthralled by the set. I find his wings bend forward way too much when the flap function is used (no friction essentially) but I do admire the trans neon orange. Also this is my first shadow trap and I have to say, I don't like it. I did end uo buying the K/M Unity set and I am actually really glad it has no shadow traps.
  3. The Stone sets are the most underrated Bionicle sets ever. It's a massive shame, because I've quite liked their designs myself, especially newer designs that we've gotten now. Master Pohatu was simple, but effective. Nilkuu shared in that design, but came included with an awesome weapon which we hadn't seen before in Bionicle. Ketar is another odd creation from the Stone world, but it's intriguing and it makes sense for the character. Uniter Pohatu is, for me at least, an improvement of an already good set which we got in 2015. But...colours-wise....I would hope they stick with dark tan, brown or dark orange. Just....they need to get the design of the next Pohatu just right. I don't even know what that means myself.
  4. I asked this question earlier, I would actually suggest Gali and Akida, depending on what you're looking for. I was also suggested Lewa, and it's hard for me to deny my Lewa love considering he was one of my favourite G1 characters.....but that doesn't change how much I dislike his silver colour scheme. Everyone has different preferences of course, and I think Lewa's design is excellent, as is his combo with Uxar....but it depends what you want to get out of the sets. If you want to pose them, Lewa and Uxar. Occasionally play with them but pose them otherwise, Gali/Akida. I feel like the shoulder torpedoes are just cooler than the wing-flapping bit...she also maintains her gear function because Akida does not cover her knob with his/her/its tail. She's also got awesome colours and a better weapon, at least in my opinion. Thanks by the way to everyone for their suggestions!
  5. So to anyone who owns the sets currently, I'm looking for a recommendation. I found that I visually loved Master Lewa last year, I liked Pohatu's playability, liked Onua's playability and colours, and liked Gali's weapon, dark azure and her mask. Having said this, which set pair (creature, toa) do you think would be best for me capturing some if not all of these qualities (perhaps it's not detailed enough) for 2016? Also forgot to mention, but looking at Master Lewa, I think he's definitely my favourite of the last wave.
  6. Very well-done set. I'm just not interested in him only because I like some of the Toa more than him. But he is still a great set.
  7. Onua's a fantastic set, honestly, I find very little to complain about him. Great colours, good mask, awesome creature, decent combination, excellent weapon. He's awesome.
  8. Honestly, I don't think Tahu is bad, (actually I don't think any of the sets are bad) but he does some things better than Master Tahu, but fails in other respects compared to his last incarnation. The mask is an upgrade for me, I think it looks excellent from all angles...but the legs are a downgrade, and that is solely due to the placement of the unity pieces on his upper legs. I don't like them there...or anywhere on the body other than the back of the toa. I really don't. It's one of the things that kind of bothered me about Uniter Kopaka, especially since his unity pieces are some pearly dark grey, rather than white. This Tahu has much more trans orange which was really badly missing from Master Tahu last year, but I have to say that he still should have some red. It's not a huge deal for me that he's more gold now, but it does look cooler when there's a little more red. Also, his weapons. Don't like them.
  9. You know what? I've seen different images of Gali and have reviewed her images taken on this review...and I find that she actually is my favourite of the Toa. I can't explain it, but the colours are excellent, her combination is actually quite spectacular....and she's so simple! I don't get it..it must be a subjective thing, but I've completely changed my mind about her. She looks like she'll be a lot of fun. I do still think that she is a work in progress, but LEGO is so close to getting her perfectly right, at least for me. The mask, the colours, the build. YES.
  10. I've mentioned this already, but I'll say it again: Lewa has so much potential...but his lack of colours are a deal breaker for me. Ever since I got Master Lewa with those gorgeous keetorange accents, I've been more or less expecting him to have one of the most eye-catching colour schemes. Ironically, Gali got the colour upgrade, which has completed the Toa swap between these two. Only difference I find is that Uniter Lewa's design is inferior to Master Gali's design, until he is placed together with Uxar. It's a shame, at least for me, but this Lewa does not feel like an air creature, nor does he feel like anything that might live in a Jungle. It's just that silver which bothers me so much....the rest of him is so well done though. The chest design is perfect. For me, the most disappointing Toa of the wave.
  11. Love Terak's colours, his function makes sense for an earth creature. One of the better creatures of the wave for sure!
  12. My favourite of the creatures hands down. I'm ultimately getting him without Tahu, I feel like he doesn't need Tahu as much as Tahu needs him to feel complete. I'm very impressed with this set.
  13. This is yet another set I thought I'd ultimately dislike...but it turns out Akida is pretty neat. I love that it comes with a stand, I love the colours, the shooters are a bit odd...but they're propeller torpedo shooters....it's super cool. Very well done set.
  14. I don't know why....but I actually really like Ketar. Yeah, his tail is there for show, the crystal 'claws' are flimsy and loose, but the function looks like it'd be really fun to use. Maybe a little more posability and Ketar could turn into a really fun creature. Considering his combination with Pohatu though, I'm pretty sure he'll make a trusty steed for little Nilkuu in my collection.
  15. Uxar is a fantastic little set. I love the pieces, the colours, the wings. However, I feel that the wings would be a pain to pose with those axles (or would often slip out of a position from which you'd want it) and, again, he's a jungle creature. This is the same issue I have with Uniter Lewa...what happened to his colour? Jungle creatures generally have very colourful schemes because they're either dangerous or trying to show predators/potential attackers that they are not to be messed with. Both Lewa and Uxar suffer from the lack of keetorange, or yellow, or really any other colour that could beat out that silver. Otherwise, I still think Ikir is a better 'flyer' set, but Uxar isn't in any way bad.
  16. Has anyone noticed that episode 18 of the animations is gone from bionicle.com?
  17. I love Pohatu. Awesome set. That's all I can say.
  18. I love Pohatu. Love the crazy colour scheme and I understand the designers' ideas with this one. I appreciate what they're going for with him, though I do believe he could be a little more improved. I'm not as big on the arm construction, but it doesn't bother me so much that I'd pass on him. Simple build, great looking weapon for a waste lander, desert camouflage....and lovely mask. They got the mask perfectly for him this time around. Can't wait to add him to my collection!
  19. Actually, the comic on the back of Lewa's box has Uxar's legs wrapping around his shoulders and waist. Just noticed that.
  20. Nope, ive been patiently waiting for him to be reviewed for two weeks now.
  21. OH this is fantastic news! Hopefully I'll be seeing the sets here in Ottawa..... :D
  22. Thanks for the review, will Pohatu be reviewed tonight? Or is it just Ketar?
  23. I love Kopaka and Melum. I especially love the odd light green colours, it's reminiscent of northern lights. So Kopaka's glowing like northern lights. I think thats the same effect theyre going for with the transblue crystal shells in his legs, with white they look a tad green. Love this set, considering the price as well, I'm definitely making this one my first buy. Great review by the way! Thanks for the review!
  24. NICE K/M is $25 USD..that means they should surey be around $30 in Canada! This is great news!!! This set is likely my first pick up.
