  1. The books as in....the one book? Or does RotSS also detail the Toa getting the same masks back? If possible, could you quote the passages? I'm not entirely convinced....also the animations could've been like that so as not to leak the newer set designs.
  2. It could be that, as I hypothesized awhile ago, after their battle with Kulta, their masks were in fact destroyed...so Ekimu recreated them and modified them? As well as the golden masks.
  3. Yeah, I already checked bricklink. Even the used copies have awful shipping prices. I'm just wondering if there's anything else on the web I can try. Ebay is terrible, I already know that :P Thanks guys for your responses!
  4. Hi there, I'm looking for a Nokama metru set and am wondering where I could find a copy, possibly sealed, where I wouldn't have to pay ridiculous shipping costs. I'd be willing to spend a little bit to get the set itself...perhaps setting a limit at $25 USD.
  5. Eh...I got Onua as well....I like him a lot, his design is great....but the hammer makes the figure suffer from Gali '15 giant axe syndrome....essentially, it's hard to wield because it's so large. Also, loading the studs back into it is awfully difficult to do without having them constantly pop off every time you try to place another one back into the clip. Surprisingly I hate his weapon and have to say I kinda prefer his 2015 version (I mean the figure in general).
  6. I for one am absolutely buying Storm Beast whenever he comes out. I'm terribly interested in building it and playing around with the function. I like lava beast, and I also don't mind quake beast, even though he doesn't look pleasing to the eye....but again, I think that's the point. Quake beast is an abomination, he's got weird, unnatural colours, crystal growths for arms...it makes sense to me. I'm still likely only getting Storm Beast out of them all...but would consider Lava Beast and Ekimu. Don't care too much about Umarak...not sure if that'll change, I get the idea behind him and kinda like it....but I dunno, I'm pretty pleased with the Hunter version.
  7. Other than the Rahkshi and not counting titans....weren't most G1 villains smaller than the toa? Bohrok, Vahki, Visorak, Piraka...I suppose Barraki were pretty equal, but still. I also feel like imagination is supposed to play a role with these sets.
  8. This. Well said, and my thoughts exactly. Who cares if Bionicle ends in 2017? We will still get amazing Bionicle sets that we never had back in G1. I'm already pretty satisfied with what we got!
  9. The Brickshow has a video of the sets on display.
  10. Why on earth does this matter? So what if it ends in 2017? You would have gotten a plethora of good Bionicle sets that fans could only have dreamt of in g1's earlier years. It's likely subjective, but I don't see the big deal in Bionicle ending in 2017. Also, I have zero idea why you would say that last part. Bionicle, Tahu, Gali, Pohatu, Onua, Kopaka, Lewa are not names that children today (let's be reminded of the fact that Bionicle is a toy aimed at the age range given on the front of boxes) would at all be familiar with. That's the point, the brand is being re-booted, it's not the same as it was, nor is it aimed at the audience of that first line. Sure, maybe and I mean maybe, kids would do some research about these characters and find their older versions and stories on the internet, and maybe that becomes a point of confusion...although, I find that difficult to believe considering anybody will know these sets came out in 2008, 2003, 2002, etc. and that information would be just as available as information about these characters form that era. Let me ask you a question regarding that second point of yours as an answer: have you bought different versions of the same character throughout every Bionicle line? I sure have. I now own three versions of Tahu. Uniter Tahu is not Tahu Nuva from 2003, they are very different sets altogether. Secondly, it actually would be funner, because you get innovation out of the later releases. Maybe the first figure missed something, or there's a new design gimmick which works better.
  11. Yeah Im in agreement with Lychir....there'0 chance the Toa a) get replaced by a new team and b) of there being two villain waves in the same year. It would make no sense tosuddenly do that.
  12. Yup, JtO is in fact coming out March 4th.
  13. WIll it actually be premiering February 29th in the US?
  14. Just got myself Tahu. I must say, I like him a lot. All orange and glowy.
  15. I just got Lewa and Uxar and I have to say, despite the odd design choices for his colours, arms, legs, he is one awesome figure. I have to admit I was wrong about this set and he looks even cooler combined with Uxar. Uxar has great colours, but the wings are so heavy, that it's difficult to keep posed in ways that don't have his wings either fully held up or down. Still think they are both awesome sets and I'm glad I was wrong about Lewa.
  16. I actually think we might get one of two things for that first wave: The Toa in their usual, but improved/new forms and perhaps upgraded Protectors, who will be joining the fight for the final battle. I think there is a possibility, albeit very small possibility, that rather than have any companions for the Toa, the Toa are way more complex, given more parts/functions and becoming more expensive than their earlier variations, but being that much more awesome. I dunno though.
  17. Does anyone know when the series comes out? Journey to One?
  18. Nice! Lava beast looks like a balrog....which I think is AWESOME
  19. Ketar is there. It's next to Uxar. Unless you mean Terak....well he's next to Ikir...you can see the black paw piece jutting out from the display panel.
  20. OK I went from really being meh about these summer sets to LOVING THEM. It's Umarak's mask blended with trans neon orange!!!!! Umarak looks great, I really would like to see the beasts a little more closely.
  21. I dunno...from where I stand, it doesn't look like Bionicle will live past its third year. Cities in Canada that are not Toronto are not even getting the Bionicle 2016 sets. Also, I can't believe that is actually what was being said about Bionicle....simpler story line? No way can a child not figure this story out. It's extremely simple.
  22. I especially like the creature descriptions. 1- gender neutral. 2-they are forces of nature, but they are peaceful....they're like the purest form of nature. They are not weaponized which I love...I think this is a creative concept for them. Rather than giving the Toa greater abilities (some still do...), the aim seems to be peace of mind, calm, valour, courage...so it's easing their minds...literally getting in touch with Nature. I really like this idea...it also allows for the story/mythology to be expanded upon.
  23. Yeah she turned out to be my favourite toa of the wave :D

  25. For me: Gali/Pohatu: The reason I have them together is that their torso constructions are more or less the same. The only differences between the figures are evidently colours, arm constructions, armour placements, masks, and weapons. Gali is a bit of a restricted figure, as her arms are short and the vorox armour piece in orange (oh I love these two pieces so much) blocks some of the shoulder rotation upwards. I love the transparent dark blue shells as they help in making her the most colourful figure of the wave. Her crystal add ons are nice, but I HATE the friction extenders. These things were an issue when I built Tahu last year, I still can't stand them. They make the legs incredibly difficult to move. This goes for all the figures of the wave that I have. The armour placement of Gali is quite good actually...I enjoy the asymmetry on her and I was surprised by how lovely her weapon actually is. Put a certain piece in place of her hand on the staff, and she can have a one-handed weapon, which is even better for posing. I love both her masks, probably my favourite of the wave. Her combination with Akida is excellent and just adds something even cooler to her character. I actually recommend both of them together for anyone wanting a long, fun build and fun combination model. Pohatu was the most surprising for me, as I quite love his design. The arm construction which I thought I originally would dislike actually give him excellent articulation. The colours I love very much, especially the transparent neon green. Even though his weapon seems a tad too odd to be a practical weapon, I like that you can actually split the two parts of the weapon, and have him wielding a spear, as well as a flail in both hands. It works quite will IMO. Additionally, the combiner function allows for you to put away his extra spear weapon (obviously when not in unity mode) on his back, which brings back a little bit of the spear/dagger thing he had in 2015 which I personally liked a lot. His golden mask and his dark orange mask are beautifully designed, in fact these are likely to be my favourite ever stone character mask designs, next to Nilkuu's mask. Pohatu in his unity mode is cluttered...and Ketar's odd build does make it a little loose....but I feel that it's a bit underrated. There's a lot of playability there...I feel like you need to play around with that model to get some interesting poses in order to really appreciate the quirky design of these two sets together. Regardless, I feel Pohatu is more like Onua in that....you don't necessarily need Ketar to have fun with him. I feel, however, that Ketar adds a little more to Pohatu, whereas Terak does not do too much to Onua when combined. I think both Ketar and Pohatu are great for Stone fans. Ketar: Weird build first off. It hampers the posability of the set and the claws are extremely difficult to keep in place.....until you lock them with a three module....I don't know what it's called, but there are two axle pieces sticking out on the dark orange hordika neck-like things which allow for the claw function to be locked. This helps when in Unity mode for sure...but I like the creativity behind his function. It's a bit addictive. Not a horrible set....but he's not one of the best creatures either. Akida: This one is super fun to build. I love the colours, I love the one function.....I suppose that's where one would find weakness with this one. It just has one function and that's it. There is some posability....but not too much. I don't mind though, as together with Gali, this set looks amazing. I really don't have much to complain with it....definitely my second favourite creature of the wave. Ikir: Best creature of the wave for various reasons. Posable wings, excellent colours, fun build......and what is incredibly surprising (though I imagine the orange is what allows for this to work well in my eyes) is that, when combined with Gali, the two look great together! The wing function still works of course...there's not much else to say about Ikir. I really like this one. K/M Unity: Okay, so the build was pretty fun for these two figures. Melum is finished pretty quickly and I do like his function, as well as the gold colours with blue. I don't mind them as much. Kopaka has a very odd design...but I find that it works for the most part. The moveable shoulders work well, his masks are glorious, and the weapons are well designed. I do like the stud gun...it does have a shield-like look to it..I just don't remember the style of shield that it is off the top of my head. Stickers add a bit of a model feel to the set construction. I really like the ammo pouch and the design of Kopaka's legs....however, there is one thing I noticed after having built these two. They are very fun apart. United, you have a model.....and that's really it. Kopaka and Melum united are much more restricted...and those moveable shoulders Kopaka has become a major weakness of the model, as you really cannot move them without moving Melum's paws in such a way that they get bent backwards...or worse, Melum's paws can't move that far because of the way his arms are constructed. I feel this set is more for a collector...someone who wants to build a model and display it (together I mean)...but as a play thing...I wouldn't recommend getting the set unless you wanted to keep the two figures apart, which then brings up problems of colour inconsistency and the like. Great set design, but I don't think this is a set that would survive playtime. I do like this wave so far though.
