Who are all the Pirate Lego fans on this board?
rexcal replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
I'm a huge Pirates-fan, and I've been since the series started. I remember how cool I found their face expressions, because this was something really new for minifigs back in 1989 when Pirates first came out. Even as a child I knew that this was something very special! I couldn't stop looking at the pirates' faces. I also think Pirates is a good example for a series which LEGO kept being a very intersting one. They published very nice and not too repetitive sub-series which really widened the experience and allowed to deepen the story and playing. I also appreciated the idea of islanders who brought a new input to the world of pirates and soldiers. My favorite set is still the Pirate ship 6285, a set I bought years after it originally came out in a store that mainly sold bicycles (see other thread about buying old sets). I'm one of the very few people here who do not hate the 4+ Pirates, by the way. I just don't care about them, but perhaps they'll help creating a wide-spread demand for new sytem Pirates. But I would prefer to just have the old sets and stick with them compared to the possibility that a new system line could be disappointing. Let's see what TLC is working on in their secret laboratories... Pirates on! :) -
This is nice! Squirrels are my favorite animals, they often do funny stuff, hehe. *sweet*

I just paid, but it'll take a few days until the money is transfered from my bank account to my paypal account. Same situation that Holodoc described... :-)

It's a pity. Or a blessing.

Nice topic, copmike! ;-) Yep, where to put all the LEGO? And from time to time old sets wait impatiently for becoming built up again... I guess we all know these 'problems'. And luckily there could be worse ones. :-D

Hello and welcome to this forum! It's nice to have a new ambassador in here, too!

Sorry, this is gonna be off-topic, but for a reason: Don't get mad at me, but I'd like to comment on the harsh tone I noticed lately in this thread. I haven't had contact with any of you guys, so don't think I'm trying to help a friend or something, but I think that dr01d3k4 deserves a little more respect, even though I admit he could've read and researched more carefully before some of his postings. But the continued threatening won't help keeping up a friendly and respectful climate in here... I f you feel this might be adressed to you, please take a minute to think about it. That's all I'm asking for.

What does 'ldd job' mean? And as I said in the other thread (Shop@home 2007), this may be one of the best sets LEGO has ever made. Although I agree that it doesn't really fit in between all the normal city sets, but it's just not meant to, I guess.

This really could be the best LEGO set ever made... I'm really looking forward to this Corner Cafe set, the first pictures fulfilled my high expectations! *sweet* 8-

What a nice coincidence - I do exactly the same now. But it's pretty much for sure that I won't manage to finish all six books before the seventh will be published... Otherwise my favorite book is "Catcher in the rye" by Salinger. It still moves me, it's funny, sad and very sensitive.

Yes. I bought mine at a Lufthansa flight, as I said before. But you can buy them at intercontinental flights of all the airlines that joined the so called "Star alliance". It's a nice little set, from 2006.

Why should they only produce sets of US monuments? It's still an European brand - although comparing their American and European prices tells something different...

What is the oldest set you've ever found in a store?
rexcal replied to BearHeart's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Being one of the very few people who never had a 'dark age' I often went to a small private-run toy- and bicyclestore (what a combination, huh?). In that store they sold old LEGO stuff all the time, because most of their customers were only interested in buying bikes or stuff for their bikes or giving them in for repairing. So when people were looking for toys they would usually not choose that store and so their amount of old sets became larger and larger. So, let's get to my two best buyings of old LEGO: I bought a forest men's cave there (which even was an exclusive!) about 4 years after it had been published. And, save the best for last, I found the great Pirate ship 6285 there, years after it's successor had come out. Still one my largest and nicest sets. :'-) -
"like... german." Yep, that's german. Do you want me to translate? ;-)

LEGO joins with NetDevil to create an MMOG
rexcal replied to Chuck's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm sure that it won't be free. I have never played any online gaming yet, but, yeah, I would give it a try next year. Game on. -
Congratulations! *sweet* Life really is a wonder, isn't it?

Yeah, that's what I thought, too. But thank you anyway, Mr. Tiber! I also began to dream and smile when I saw his auction for the good old pirate ship 6285. I own that one, too, bought it as a teenager and still love it. Maybe i should build it sometime soon, because I haven't done so in years, it's waiting in all it's small pieces in some bags and cartoons... :'-)
-
Yep, that's it! I'm building it right now. :-)

I last bought an exclusive set on my last Lufthansa flight a few weeks ago. It's set 2928. Sorry, but I didn't find a picture, even in the databank on lugnet there isn't one...

No matter if it's a 3- or 4-person-room: Put me in anywhere, I don't mind! As long as it stays smoke-free... ;-) btw: How can the apartments be larger and cheaper than the family rooms, even if you add the costs for breakfast... ? :-/

Hey there, please add me for 2 nights. I'm in for sure! Thanks to Holodoc for pointing out to me that I still didn't appear on the list of event-goers on the first page. April's gonna be an eventful month: There's a wedding where i'm gonna be best man (what a nice word for that job!), a Super NES fan convention and this LEGO fan convention.... Good news everyone! ;-)

I don't drink any lemonade at all. Sweet gluey stuff... I prefer water, juice, coffee, tea and non-alcoholic beer, though most breweries don't seem to be able to produce a proper one (try Jever Fun, folks! *y* ).

Vote for the domain name of the new Pirate LEGO Portal website
rexcal replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
I also voted for piratebricks.com. It's simple, it's similar to eurobricks and, last but definitely not least, it contains exactly 15 letters. :) Godaddy don't want to mess with big mighty pirates forum of Eurobricks, do they?
