  1. Thanks, sam, that's what I thought, too. But of course, I would have to make an agreement with one of you US members using the PM-function of the board. So we could agree on the exact time to put the auction on ebay, perhaps with a typing error in the auction - this prevents other peiople from finding the auction and using the "Buy it now"-option before I can do. Is there anyone who is willing to work that out together with me?
  2. I think so, too. I like AR the best of the new 2007 lines. Not, because I really would need a storyline for that theme, but because it helps selling it. I'm glad there are no villains in that theme, because this is just unnecessary. It's disappointing if AR really is already finished, but on the other hand it's harder to come up with new ideas for a theme like this than for a stheme like "Castle" or "Wild west" which have so many subthemes to explore, if one really wants... Do you get what I mean?
  3. So, the "Day of the Falcon" comes nearer and nearer... i have to get some advice from German members who have information about custom fees for big sets. I am pretty sure that they also let you pay for the shipping costs - they once did that when i ordered old videogames direct from japan. I had to pay taxes for the item- and shippingcosts combined. What's the best way to solve this? I think even if we pretend the Falcon to be a present for me it doesn't help. But i have a great idea: Let's put up an ebay auction that i will end via "Buy it now" for a disgusting low price (let's say 80 Dollars). I then will print that out and bring it along to the custom and because they're not into LEGO specifics they will only charge me for 80 Dollars. Of course that price should also be written on the sticker the sender fills out. Any other ideas from you guys? I especially appreciate the help of German members who have their own experiences with German custom, of course. 8-|
  4. The new castle princess looks really nice, but I voted for Willa, because she's a very characteristic witch and one of my favorite minifigs anyway. I also like her great cape and the combination of colors used for her outfit.
  5. I tried that, too, but wasn't successful. Or just a bit too careful. Can you please tell me how best to get rid of the magnets without leaving damage to the minifigs?
  6. So... Its only 9999 of them left for us now. *wacko*
  7. Thank you very much! I'm sorry for 3 days delay in replying, but I spend some time elsewhere. One of my birthday presents was an invitation to a concert. One of my favorite bands, BLUMFELD, who recently split up after many years of playing highly influential german independent music, gave their 3rd-last concert and so my giorlfriend and me drove there and I have not been online the last days. Some of my birthday-guests admired my old LEGOREDO fort from the "Wild West"-line. So, even people who are not AFOLs like us sense that this series was special. *sweet* I did not get any new LEGO sets as birthday presents, but I think with the Falcon flying towards me and the Corner Cafe still on my list I have enough building to do this year... Thank you very much for your nice congratulations, my pals! ;-)
  8. @xwingyoda: Is it really already official that Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire won't be part of an upcoming 4th episode?
  9. Well, what can I say that hasn't been said? Looks like a lovely little gem of a set. I especially like the idea of a micro sandcrawler. Lego minifigs building their own little Lego sets... Very well done! :'-)
  10. I like voyagetom's idea to include a labour unions demonstration in the street. 1st of May's spirit here... Your nicely added details also bring life to the scene, holodoc. :-)
  11. Yep, thank you, Sir Dillon. That's the one I'm already using now. So, Ambassadors, here's your next mission: Tell TLC to produce minifigs with bowlers!
  12. It was a joke. I don't even have a sister-in-law... I don't know her, but I will write her a postcard after I will have received the Falcon. No kidding. Should I be sending her greetings from you, Ras?
  13. Folks, today I hope you people can answer a question I had on my mind for quite a while... Prologue: Perhaps some of you know the board game "Kill Dr. Lucky", it's published and invented by a small independent games label and comes with no pawns in the game. The philosophy of the games' label is not to include dices or pawns, even if they are needed. They say, everyone got a dice and pawns anyway, so they don't produce them and keep the prices low. They have a special edition with pawns, too - but that's not the normal version. So I always play "Kill Dr. Lucky" with LEGO minifigs, which doubles the fun anyway, which you will certainly agree to. They luckily have the perfect size for the board, too. ;-) But i still haven't found the perfect hat for Dr. Lucky himself. He should wear a bowler (or derby). So my question is: Does such a hat exist for LEGO minifigs? At the moment my Dr. Lucky wears a stovepipe hat, but, although a good one, it's still not the best solution. Does the hat I'm looking for exist in the Lego world?
  14. No, I really didn't know that i had won until this morning! When I told my girlfriend about this great surprise about an hour ago, her first reaction (because she knew about the gigantic size of this set) was: "First you gotta clean up your flat!" Hmmm... Accepted! ;-) Did you guys know that the Legoland woman is my sister-in-law, by the way?
  15. I doubt that this sad tragedy really has anything to do with the Legoland-parks being owned now by another company. This was a hint given in the linked article. I'm sure the employee knew that usually she would have to wait - she probably just wanted to help getting back the wallet as fast as possible and underestimated the speed, as one of you has already mentioned. Sad story.
  16. *wub* *y* *wub* *y* *wub* *y* *wub* *y* *wub* I just saw the good news on the frontpage! I am very happy to have won the great Millenium Falcon. This really makes my day, no it makes my week, no - my month! I had bad luck lately, my bicycle got stolen, and I'll have to look for a new job very soon - so this really comes at the right time! I need to celebrate it a bit this afternoon!!! It would have been even better if I had made it to the event. I noticed that noone commented on my absence. let me assure you that I planned to go there, but just didn't recover well enough to that time. It was a good opportunity, because for me as a German it's of course much more easy to travel to the German Legoland. And the fact that I don't know you guys yet and that it's hard to get to know each other just in the forum (especially for someone who isn't an as active poster as most of you are) makes me regret my absence even more. But I'll probably come to Billund next year (where I have already been 4 or 5 times). It's still a long time, so we'll see... I also imagined how funny the pictures taken at the drawing would have been if all people look sad and disappointed - except one, jumping around joyfully like nuts! Hehe. *sweet* Thank you!
  17. I can't await the declaring of the winner. With fingers still crossed... *wub* I wish I could have made it to the event, guys, honestly.
  18. Baaaad news everyone: At the moment it's not certain if I'll be able to come or not. I'm still ill, so I'm gonna have to decide tomorrow morning. Damn, I also have already bought the train-tickets, but I hope to be able to give them back. There is still a chance that I feel recovered enough tomorrow to get on the train and have a great weekend with you guys, I just can't tell at the moment... If I still feel too weak tomorrow - do I then have to call the hotel in the morning and cancel my/our reservation for Appartement no. 2? :'-( EDIT: It's friday morning now and I still don't feel recovered enough to join you. It's disappointing, because I was looking forward to this. And I wanted to see the German all-stars blow away all other teams in the contest, especially the Swedish/Danish one... But seriously: Have fun and make pictures and be good to the Falcon which i hopefully will win during the price-drawing anyway.
  19. I haven't been online the last two days, so I'm a bit late: But take best wishes and health for your next year, Prime! :-)
  20. So, my new pals, here's a picture of what rexcal looks like:
  21. I hate to say this, because I don't wanna sound like one who spoils the party... But I'd prefer a room not "crammed" and, yes, I wanna catch some sleep, too. Don't get me wrong, though, I look forward to hang out with you guys, but there's just a limit. So I'd prefer the second alternative. By the way: I am counted in for rhis, right? 8-
  22. Honestly, I was hoping for that to happen for years. But I don't think that'll happen, because chances are good that we'd already know if they had bought the license. They missed a great opportunity for that, concerning that "Simpsons" is a very well known franchise which works for a kids audience as well as for a grown up one. Plus, the yellow minifig heads seem to be destinated to become Simpsons characters' heads. I can only dream about all the great sets and buildings they could create with that licence... :'-) :'-) :'-)
  23. Hey there and welcome! Another member from germany and you have a good taste concerning your favorite themes. ;-) But what impressed me the most is how much stuff you are collecting. Many of the action figure series I can remember from my childhood plus lots of videogames plus lots of LEGO. Man! This makes copmike's thread seem like a joke! The one about the problems we sometimes have finding a proper place for only our LEGO collection... I'll meet you on the board! *pirate*
  24. Have a great birthday, guys! *sweet*
  25. CLAP YOUR HANDS SAY YEAH - some loud thunder ARCADE FIRE - neon bible ... and some old BONNIE "PRRINCE" BILLY stuff, to get me in the mood for the upcoming concerts! *wub*
