New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
AllanSmith replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
30% off toys at Farmers stores until tomorrow. I picked up 3 Alien Invasion Tripod sets so I now have an invasion force of 1 mothership, 3 abduction UFO's and 6 tripod UFO's. Should look good on my next show display layout -
I really like this 4 wide truck in Maersk colours. I think I will have to modify mine into 6 wide to match the current truck size. I have a one carton (24) of these unopened that I got off a LEGO sales rep many many years ago when there was a LEGO yellow truck tour of New Zealand. If I remember rightly I paid $NZ 17 each and they retailed for $NZ 24 each then.

Picked up the Tokyo International Circuit set 8679 today for $160. I bought 3 Maersks early in the year when LEGO S@H had free worldwide shipping. Think I will get the Red Cargo Train that way next year. Been buying most my sets this year at The Warehouse or Farmers sales (usually 20% -25%). -
From a fellow New Zealander, this is a great model and original design. I have been thinking of building the Wellington Cable Car but not sure how to build / operate the passing loop. from a fellow

Is Toyworlds 20% sale on today? There is a Cars 2 set that is exclusive to Toyworld and normally is $200. Which is a bit much for the number of pieces in it. But $160 would be OK for it. -

LEGO is addictive. Selling most of your old LEGO to me just gave you withdrawl symptoms -
I have never modified LEGO before but a round file to enlarge the hole will be on my list to do for this life jacket.

Due out in July in NZ and the price has gone up 20% above the price for the other modulars. So I hope the increase is due do piece count and not a general increase like that for the new City sets in 2012.

Since I am more of a vehicle builder/modder I prefer the 2nd wave. I can see that the horse float is very similar to the City one. The camper could also be modded quite well. The small boat is also similar to the red City one and you get a great sand castle. Plus a VW Combi van

I would but 99% of my LEGO (1000+ sets and another 300+ sets for spare parts) are in storage in Napier, a city 300km's away. We live in a one room apartment in the capital city Wellington so I only have parts bought recently from sets or Bricklink

I know we will be getting a Friends Advent Calendar The ambulance looks like a fast response vehicle for a paramedic. Going by the size of vehicle (4 wide) and sticker on the side. In NZ we use cars or SUV's for this.

V-LI-08F I needed something for my Traffic Management Truck to do so I made this roadside mower attachment for my tractor. Round white disc will be replaced with blue and white arrow once I do a Bricklink order. My vehicles are left hand drive as are most LEGO company ones even though I live in a right hand drive country. Reference photos Enjoy

I joined in February 2007 and become member 1340. I have always had a thirst for anything to do with LEGO since I started collecting in 1985. I started up my own Bulletin Board System in 1992 so I could get a Fidonet feed of rec.toys.lego After the Internet became avaliable I think Lugnet was my forum choice. At some stage I found Eurobricks and am on many times a day. I enjoy the contact with fellow AFOL's from around the world. It is great to communicate with others that share my passion as New Zealand is a small country with not many AFOL's. I love showing off my MOC's and displays and the feedback I get. Eurobricks is the greatest LEGO forum for me

One set is called "Vampire Hearse". Must be the first time that LEGO has produced a hearse set -
To be released in NZ in August

Eight sets due out in August and they would make a good theme park with the variety of monsters and size of some sets -
Seven sets due out in September. If I say more my source will kill me.
