  1. I would be pleased if it is a detention block/ garbage pit set. I've always liked that scene and have always wanted a set based off it. The only accessible representation of the scene was in the massive deathstar play set which I never personally liked as a whole
  2. Last week I dismissed the mandr review rumors to be mere coincidence but now I'm a bit more convinced. It's very uncanny that he reviewed 4 random sets that just happened to correlate with these leaks
  3. The two sellers selling large numbers of commanders in the US sell almost exclusively minifigures. I asked a guy who purchased a large number of commanders on reddit and he claims that he once knew a guy who knew a guy who could obtain him large numbers of any in-production of figures. It's hearsay and seems shady, but I dont see any other reasonable way beyond someone with a factory connection
  4. Off topic, but there was a seller on bricklink who had almost 30 clone commanders from the gunship on sale. How is that even possible? Is there a secret way to obtain a large amount from lego? Or did he really buy like 30 sets and pulled them out?!? He isn't selling the gunship parts so is this really the way he does it?
  5. The ironic thing is that the team can be extremely competent with the sets they do put out. The MBS cantina, gunship, downsized tie fighter etc are great builds. It's just that they keep retreading the same sets
  6. Yikes...to say the least. I would not be surprised if the $100 death star final duel retires then is immediately replaced by this $80 version. Looks like this wave is going to be affordable for me as well. With so many helmets coming our there's very limited space for system sets and looks like they're mostly taken up by OT once again... The UCS market targets a difference audience then the system market. It's important to remember that people are also asking for playset versions of the gunship and venator, etc. I know that you should not expect the UCS gunship to be minifig scale, but I honestly don't blame people wanting it to be minifig scale, with the drought of large PT vehicles...
  7. We won't ever know for sure what the market exactly wants or the data lego bases their decisiosn off of, but I'll say this: if lego's market research is supposedly always 100% correct then every line would be a successful blockbuster like ninjago and there won't be any cancelled lines like videyo.
  8. No, they take place before the OT, so a literal interpretation would mean they are "PT," but the sets and figures are functionally, aesthetically or literally OT. It is not practical or reasonable to consider the RO AT-ST as a PT set. Similarly, it is not reasonable to consider the stormtrooper in the rogue one y-wing to be a PT figure, that is just ridiculous-even when discounting that the fact that the exact same figure appears in the actual OT sets. A reasonable person is not going to look at the AT-ST on a shelf and say "on I know that, it's from the prequels"
  9. He mentions that even if you combine TCW and PT, the numbers don't look good. As for RO, solo, and mandalorian, many of the sets are simply OT sets (e.g AT-ST, light crusier), include OT figures or aesthetically/thematically OT themed. OT vehicles have enjoyed having their main variants re-released while also getting complimentary variants. An example would be the tie-striker, while a RO vehicle is aesthetically fits in with the OT tie fighters. For the PT it would be the OT lamda class shuttle compared to the nu-class shuttle, or the republic y wing versus the rebels y wing. The PT variants appeared one time over 10 years ago and havent showed up since Yikes, so the RO AT-ST and y-wing doesn't count as OT vehicles in the dataset?
  10. Thanks for the data analysis. That is a really good write-up. This is actually worse for the PT and TCW then I thought. Considering 2022's wave so far, it looks bleak. I mentioned the ventaor and arc-170 specifically in the context of their general appearance, irregardless of whether it was a remake or an initial appearance. The point was that it took an entire movie series and a major show to be the main SW media at the time to have either of those sets in production. Now that TCW is over for over a year and BB only going further into the imperial era the chances of those PT/TCW sets appearing are slimming every day
  11. I think it's important to note that the iconic OT vehicles that are constantly re-released are a substantial number of vehicles and sets at various price points whereas the repeating PT sets while frequent are seemingly a small handful in comparison. This is especially glaring when you take into account unique OT sets like the carbonite chamber, hoth medical room, kenobi's hut etc. It's also important to keep in mind that it took an entire new TV show and no other major SW media to get a venator, arc-170, and other much requested sets and figures. With TCW season 7 ending over a year ago the chance is over; I just dont see many PT sets coming back (besides the usual anakin's fighter, at-ap, at-rt, and the occasional gunship etc) anytime soon if at all. I would not be surprised at all if we never see captain rex again until he appears as a major character in some media. From the preliminary sets for 2022 being leaked, it seems that lego is going to focus on one OT movie at a time for waves, which will take a while if they intend to do thematic waves for all three movies. By the time that's done there likely will be new SW movies that will once again take the spotlight for sets. In addition, the upcoming TV series will likely involve largely non PT locations and vehicles, further decreasing the chances of pt remakes That being said, from the point of a fan, lego overall has blown it out of the water as a general product. There are so many excellent high-priced $100+ sets coming out than ever before that just disappear off shelves. I'm willing to bet that the market can handle both a system AT-TE and imperial star destroyer being out at the same time, but we'll have to see
  12. Non-licensed ones are usually $12, but ones like harry potter are $15. Star wars will almost certainly be $15 as well, to capitalize on the desirability. I'm not holding my breath though; I wouldnt' be surprised if one of the blister packs as R2-d2, luke, old obi wan and c-3po
  13. As a OT fan, I know that if I miss out on most sets, I can just wait for it to be re-released in probably at most one year. If I wanted an AT-AT at any time, there's probably one on the shelves or one coming soon. As a PT fan, some sets get regular re-releases like grevious' starfighter, but for other sets like a AT-TE, obi wan's fighter, or even something as basic as a white clone...well we all know (still waiting for another endor bunker as well )
  14. Imo, I wouldn't beat myself too much for missing the jabba's palace. For a 2013 set the build is sort of really "basic" for it's time. I'll willing to bet lego's next version will do it tremendous justice. I do hope we get another jabba's palace set, but I hope it won't be an MBS, but if it is i'm hoping that the number of MBS sets increase. Having one every two years with two consecutive ones being desert themed seems bland Ah yes, the eternal wait for new versions of iconic clone wars vehicles. At this rate my children will be the ones to buy a venator at RRP. Can't believe it's approaching 10 years since the only set with a white phase 2 clone
  15. any leaks for the halloween seasonal this year? (sorry if this is the wrong thread, im not sure where this theme goes)
  16. Honestly that's a pretty silly theory. It's just mere coincidence. If he did have the set list there would have been a video by now...
  17. I wish we got more frequent MBS sets, yearly at least. I greatly prefer them over the typical UCS spacecraft
  18. With so many remakes and D2Cs coming out than ever before, I really hope there is some way for lego to do re-leases or remakes of older modulars. I know they said they won't do straight up re-releases, but I would not mind remakes in a different color or improved interiors/exteriors. Maybe remakes that you can only buy direct from lego.com so they can save on distribution costs? The brick bank retired before I could get it and I've been beating myself over it ever since, it's value has skyrocketed extremely fast. Frankly, paying more than 2x for a set retired not so long ago is ridiculous to me and I can't justify it, even if I were a wealthy person
  19. This is going to be beating a dead horse, but If the hoth AT-ST does have longer legs than the endor one, then i'm going to be surprised since people likely only remember that the AT-ST is a vehicle with two legs and a head. Plus, the endor at-st can double for the hoth one
  20. In the US at least, the ucs gunship has been intermittently out of stock. On amazon, the BB shuttle and mandalorian starfighter has also been intermittently of stock, with the starfighter being out of stock yet again for at least another month. If this is reflective of demand months before Christmas, they may be a good sign for the future.
  21. The MBS cantina is an impressive set and I thoroughly enjoyed the build, but will be disappointed if the next MBS is also from Tatooine. There's so many more locations such as endor, naboo, coruscant, that would make fantastic builds. If the UCS landspeeder really is a thing I could see a MBS lars homestead released at the same time..
  22. ...Satan, really? No one called them that or anything close. Hearing people complain about what lego does sometimes can get annoying, but frankly I don't understand why people whiteknight or simp for a corporation.
  23. Not sure what you mean by minifigure scale.... I do like the endor bunker at-st because it doesn't look comically huge next to minifigures, but the 2022 one at a $60 price point is going to be way bigger than the endor one and the same size or even bigger than the 2015 one.
  24. Found an interesting post on reddit showing the 41st clone and scout trooper in stock as replacement pieces. Confirmed it myself on the US website. Could be an error or a hint of 2022 sets?
  25. Hate to say it, but I'm going to be disappointed if the AT-ST is $60. I have the 2015 AT ST and it's incredibly detailed and accurate, but I was hoping that that lego would keep on selling the scaled down, more inexpensive vehicles from this year. Prior to this year the sets were becoming huge and incredibly expensive ($90 for a tie fighter!), and looked comically huge next to minifigures. I liked the scaled down versions of for maintaining a high level of detail while looking like good sets that were much more affordable for all. However, I like the current price point and scale for capital ships.
