Hello there Here's a Suzuki Samurai that I've built. Here's my inspiration: Functions: 4x4 drive by 1 L motor Steering by 1 servo Leaf spring live axles Simple interior with seats and steering wheel I'm quite happy with how it turned out and it is very fun to drive. [MOC] Ural 532301 8x8 Trial truck
Pego replied to Pego's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks! Balloon tires wouldn't work, they'd rub each other. With some modification it would work well though. Thanks! I'm very pleased with the drivetrain myself, it doesn't torque-twist axle 3 when power goes to axle 4 for example, as a single-driveshaft one would. Thank you! -
Hello! Here is my new creation, a model of a Ural 532301. It's features are: 8x8 drive from a Xl motor Steering from an M motor 2 speed gearbox from an M motor (gear ratios 1:10 and 1:3.333) 4 live axles with flex axle leaf springs Controlled via Sbrick It is really fun to drive around as it goes pretty much anywhere it fits. It is fairly fast in second gear too. It has tons of torque in first gear, but the limiting factors are the u-joints that like to break into pieces when all the weight is on one axle. Lego Ural 532301 by Pego's Legos, on Flickr The real thing: Lego Ural 532301 by Pego's Legos, on Flickr Lego Ural 532301 by Pego's Legos, on Flickr Lego Ural 532301 by Pego's Legos, on Flickr Lego Ural 532301 by Pego's Legos, on Flickr I might try to make some building instructions later. If I do, I'll charge a small fee for it. What would be a good amount?

Because you have to attach 4 links onto both the axle and the chassis, taking up space and making the axle more complicated. With the ball joint piece it's very easy to attach everything to it, and it doesn't take much vertical space. Still 4 link suspension is always worth it for the realism and to avoid negative caster

Thanks! LDD file is coming, possibly today. Compared to a Lego rechargable battery the batteries have maybe 1/2 or 2/3 of the runtime, and a little more voltage. I don´t know much of the AA batterybox though. I´d say, if you have a Lego rechargable BB it´s worth it, if you have the AA BB it´s a must buy! -

[MOC] Tiny Unimog 406 dump truck
Pego replied to Pego's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks guys! Well, almost, it lacks suspension :) The battery is a 9V with a minizip cable: http://mechnable.com/content/minizip-shop/ It drives like a trial truck; slow and without diffs, it slows down in corners because of the extra resistance -
Hello! Here´s another moc that I´ve built: Tiny Unimog by Pego's Legos, on Flickr The functions are: 4x4 drive (M motor) Steering (M motor) Dumping (M motor) It has no suspension as it would be impossible to fit it in there, but the chassis has some flex (maybe 5-10 degrees) so it´s not too bad offroad. I wanted to replicate an Unimog 406 as it has big tires and a short chassis. I want to make another similar Unimog with a bucket up front to be able to load up this one. I decided to create a new topic for my WIPs and failed MOCs (or bad/low quality MOCs). So I´m going to post my WIPs here and maybe create a new topic when the model is finished (is this a good idea?). This is the first one: Lego Mini/Micro rock crawler WIP by Pego's Legos, on Flickr It is a front axle for a small rock crawler. It has drive, steering and leaf spring suspension. Lego Mini/Micro rock crawler WIP by Pego's Legos, on Flickr I´m waiting for a minizip cable and batteries to arrive, which will make it easier to design and a lot more capable. [HELP] Exposing Motor to Snow
Pego replied to Pego's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Ok, thanks for the replies, I 'm going to try it then -
I am currently building a small 4wd rally car, but was wondering if it is ok to expose a little bit of the buggy motor to snow (up to the marked point). I know the electronics are up high, but there might be some grease or metal parts in there that could be damaged by the water. Buggy motor question by Pego's Legos, on Flickr

Thank you! They perform well because of the larger diameter, but also because the buggy doesn't weigh much at all.- 25 replies

I've made a LDD file of the chassis: https://drive.google...iew?usp=sharing It has about 400 pieces. [MOC] Mini rock crawler
Pego replied to Pego's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Here's an update: I've improved it quite a bit, slowed down steering, removed friction from the suspension, minimized side-to-side wobble in the front suspension (improving steering) and finally adding larger tires. I also made slight improvements like changing non-friction pins to friction pins in the wheel hubs helping the CV joints to hold up (which they do really well even with the larger tires). I also shot a video in the snow and a new LDD file is coming soon.- 25 replies

[WIP] Jeep CJ5
Pego replied to Pego's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks everybody! Here´s a short video: Sorry but I have some better plans for the snow (8x8), this truck simply won´t be that great in the snow. I could pretty easily have added it, but it would hurt the approach-angle a lot, so I decided to leave it off. I´ll make an LDD file soon, but I have no idea til then. -

Here it is, all finished! I haven´t really had much time to build, so it took some time. There might not be any video either, because it is raining almost every day, and it could snow pretty soon too.
