Ezeran stands up careful not to wake the heavily snoring barbarian at his table and heads over to Jinniphers table. He sits down in a vacant arm chair that looks comfortable. The symbiont seems idle enough, somewhat dazed after a long journey. "We were contacted by this nervous-looking arbomancer gardener who claimed to have been attacked by a ferocious plant. It proved out to be highly accurate, a beautiful speciment with petals, leaves and stems that would delight every botanical artisan in all of Eubric. The problem however was that it's beauty was surpassed by its craving for raw magic. We did not know this but after having followed it through half the city we surmised that it was not pure chance that it had swallowed every wizard in sight and used their powers against us. This was humours at first, it swallowed a necromancer and raised a three course dinner against us. I've never fought a sausage-monster before but it was easy not to laugh since we had to save the poor wizard. The hunt continued and we were soon confronted with a similary swallowed weather mage that turned a group of hanged pirates against us. By this time both the Bonapartes and the Ziegfrieds had joined the hunt and after catching up with the Triffid in Triad park we learned from some children working for the guild of Invision that it had escaped from the guilds premises. They seemed to be able to control it so we decided to escort them and the Triffid back to the guild. The Ziegfrieds were of course not happy with this, If they would have gotten their way the Triffid would have been slaughtered like a mad dog at the spot. Crude reasoning if you ask me." Ezeran sighs "It was dangerous but to destroy it would have been a mistake."

Ezeran raises his mug of ale and nods silently to greet her.

Ezeran leans forward in his armchair. "Aren't you curious about all the things you haven't yet experienced? To live is to learn more about yourself and your surroundings. I'm more frightened of fading away at old age while my soul is yearning for experiences the body can't provide."

Quiet reasonable!

Ah, right you are!

Nice introduction! Welcome!

It could be an excellent visual representation of increased hp: a skeleton that gets more and more flesh until lvl 50 when it transforms to a zombie.

Oh yes! Not that surprising epilogue to be honest.

Ezeran returns to the hall and takes a seat next to Torald to relax some more, the symbiont looked a bit more pale then usual.

Ezeran goes to Anwyl to upgrade his Ancient Sapphamber Staff from WP 7 to WP 8. He then goes to Fabian with a rather odd request. "I need help with making the symbiont more resistant to magic, could you help me treating him with this emerald?" Fabian has probably seen a lot so with professional discretion they disappear behind a curtain and after much muffled grunting from the symbiont and just one sigh from Fabian they come out again. The symbiont looks most displeased but at least he now had some resilience towards magic. Ezeran improves his Ancient Sapphamber Staff from WP 7 to WP 8 for 80 gold. He gives Fabian one emerald and 50 gold to grant the sneezing demon immunity against wood. Total cost: 80+50 = 130 gold, Ezeran now has 15 gold left and only one emerald.

I think my suggestion for Petaldan came through which is a real treat! The gift for Ezeran was perfect!
-
Ezeran opens the neatly wrapped gift and finds a metallic card with a nice looking engraving saying "The truest gift is the sudden appreciation and acceptance of ones worth..." He turns the card over and he sees the symbiont reflecting of its silvery surface. The picture fades as the symbiont sneezes all over it. Ezeran felt a pride welling up inside of him and a smile started to spread over his face. "Happy Grogmas fellow heroes!" He shouted with joy. Ezeran returns from the gathering around the Grogmas-tree and slumps down in a chair again. "Phew, I really need something extra to be prepared for another year..." He takes out a cartoonish looking mushroom that doesn't seem edible and then he consumes it in a few big bites, "Strangely tasty, big presence of umami for sure!" . Ezeran consumes his Level Up Mushroom and gains a level he then equips the sneezing demon. Ezeran left the hall for the marketplace.
-
I sure will, is it okay if I use my level up mushroom so I can equip it? Or is the proper conduct to wait to the next quest and post the changes then?

Ezeran nods politely towards Karie.

Ezeran decided to finally sell his old staff, it had seen a lot and though it had some sentimental value to him it was time they parted ways. Besides, it was now heavily infested with demonic slime. He went to Anwyls smithy and recieved 15 gold for the Staff infested with demonic slime (WP 3).

Some thoughts on 142. First of all, thanks a lot to Sandy for hosting it! I had a blast during this quest and it provided a nice story for the development of Ezerans character. I was actually quiet eager to be a part of this quest since all of the quests in this arc has been really interesting. Coming into contact with the guild of Invision was a nice treat for Ezeran since he is fascinated by their work. Ezeran also got to show some of his qualities as a leader in a hopefully satisfactory capacity, a really good excercise both for him as a character as for me playing him. I liked the concept of the quest, I haven't read the Sci-Fi-story that it may (?) be based on inspired from but it truly was a fascinating creature and the mechanics coupled with it were interesting and made for a variety of interesting situations. The scene in the restaurant was teeming and well planned, subjectively speaking it felt like the hardest battle until we got help with buffing the triffid with nostrum. I personally loved the atmosphere provided in the battle with the triffid and the hanged pirates, the weather mechanics were exciting even though my character were somewhat helped by the fact that he could absorb most of the damage dealt. The quests pace sped up considerably with the inclusion of captain Cousland and it felt like the hunt really intensified and that the stakes got higher. It was a real treat to be able to visit Triad Park and it would probably have been an interesting battle if Torald had controlled his itching trigger finger. The story then climaxed with the two alternatives of either destroying the Triffid or escorting it back. Ezeran found the choice a rather easy one but it comes down to his experiences and values. Waldorf and Cousland was obviously the most noteworthy of NPC's since they tagged along the most. I liked both a lot but the golem could have had a bigger role. It would have been fun with a more substantial "boss"-fight or the like but it is of minor importance, great work Sandy! This was a perfect quest for Ezeran at this point! Torald: It's nice that the relation between Torald and Ezeran is progressing and that they obviously complement each other, Torald is more of a "doer" than Ezeran and I hope Torald may be even more active the next time they get the chance to be on the same quest. Petaldan: Petaldan has some nice characteristics that are played out really neat, I like the boyishness of him especially when it comes down to the moral discussion at the end. That interaction between the two were most rewarding in my opinion. Dr Windus: Obviously it's hard to relate to the character since he was absent a lot, I hope Ezeran will get the chance to get to know him better at some other time.

"No problem old friend!" Ezeran sits back in his chair to relax a bit. The symbiont lets out a big pork-smelling burp.

At the desk of the Masked Man a strange plant suddenly sprouts as if materializing from a different realm. The plant grows with a steady pace and as the leaves of the plants unfurls there seems to be a message encoded in its veins: "The guild of invision has my allegiance. Your strive for progress is a noble one." It is signed by Ezeran who now is a member of the Cresent Union.

Ezeran waves towards the other heroes and then speaks to Waldorf. "Take care now Waldorf, ot has been great to habe company with such a talented arbomancer as yourself!" Ezeran leaves the party and heads for the hall. OoC: I seem to have lost my reputation with Ji Pei from the last quest. Is that in order? -
Ezeran walks intp the hall with a smile on his face whistling an eerie tune. He goes to the bar and buys some pork crisps for the symbiont and two foaming pints of ale. He goes to Toralds table, gives him one of the pints and then he goes to the quest-board and signs up for Quest #147: Judgment Day.

Ezeran bows with a courteous grace towards the herbalist. "It would have been folly to kill this beautiful plant of yours but I do have some questions regarding it. I hypothesised that it probably had no malcontent directed towards the mages that were attacked but that it acted on instincts, that it somehow fed on raw magic. Is this true? And if it is, how do you plan on administer raw magic or the like in a safe way? Further I do wonder how you will keep it satisfied though it is contained, I do wish a magnificent creature like this would have a life not just behind bars but in a suitable environment. I would also humbly request that you put in a good word for us with the guild and that I could perhaps aquire some neat speciments from your botanic collections? I'm an amateur herbalist myself so feel free to surprise me concerning that matter!" -

Ezeran announces his desicion: "This requires further investigation, we will follow them back but I'm not ruling out the alternative of a termination in a later stage." He turns to the Ziegfrieds. "You are welcome to join us, it should be in your interest to know more of this matter."
