  1. Does anyone know where you can buy the Akro Mils drawers in the UK?
  2. I have just found this thread too. Great tips, especially the one about using what you have and worrying about colours later. Thought never even crossed my mind. I have some available funds to top up my parts, however I am pondering so many options I am not sure what is the 'right thing to do'. I am thinking buy Tower Bridge to use as parts - the set doesn't interest me. Or do I purchase some current modulars (Petshop and Palace Theatre) and put them by to resell at a later date, when are discontinued. I am also considering the Bike Shop & Cafe 30126 set as a project to make modular - will buy two. I have a couple of bricklink projects on the go - Green Grocer and a left hand version of the town house from the pet shop set. There are so many options when you have LEGO cash too spend. What would you do?
  3. Someone has offered to me for £90GBP DD840 - minus the Minifigs. If you think you could use I'd happily get it and ship for you from the UK
  4. Thanks for the welcomes :) dr_spock I was modelling 00 Gauge, that's HO over your side of the pond :)
  5. Brilliant, looks very authentic between the official sets.
  6. Thanks thewatchman, that answers my question.
  7. I have an opportunity to pick this set up at is sale price and I am thinking it maybe worth it just for the bricks to go in the 'collection' - I am building Modular buildings. Has anyone else done this? Does it have enough range of pieces in it for what I am building? Thanks, noob out.
  8. I built the Modular Pet Shop over the Christmas holidays and it was missing a few bricks and the lamppost. replacement parts sent by LGT without question.
  9. I started the task of Brinklinking GG today. Those grooved 1x2 bricks are going to hurt...
  10. Wow, great thread. I am also a late comer to the modular scene and I have managed to secure new sets of everything except CC, GG and MS. I did wonder If it was worth building it this way, now I know. I have noticed some of you building CC and GG at the same time, I assume this is to cut down on shipping costs? Any tips on where on the parts list to start or should I just hold my nose, close my eyes and jump?
  11. Love the 'remodelling'. I have also considering buying this for the sole purpose of re working it into a modular. Apart from baseplate and pavement tiles, would you say it contains enough to build something viable? I know you have already but I want to copy your excellent example.
  12. Hello! I am a 35 years young AFOL from the UK. Like many others, I grew up with the plastic bricks through the 80's and 90's. I now have four young children of my own, who have have quite frankly, acquired an obscence amount of Lego over the last 5 years. I have always enjoyed 'playing Lego with the kids', which must have been noticed as I was given the Modular Pet Shop set for Christmas by 'Santa'. Having always admired the Modular MOC's and sets I am totally in love with the Pet Shop and the concept. Next I discovered the other 9 official sets and decided I MUST have them, well as many as I can lay my hands on, seeing as the older ones are rather pricey! Fortunatly I have a large collection of Model Railway stock I had been buying over many years, in the hope of building some huge model railway in the garage. Sadly it never happened - its always cold out there! So I have spent the last few days flogging it on Fleabay. Those Model Railway guys have money to burn as I have made enough already to buy up five other sets, with another on hold for my impending birthday in a few weeks. I am one happy chappy. Once i have built these I plan to invest in lots of those lovely coloured bricks and parts and start designing and building my own. Looking forward to being part of your community. Cheers
  13. I believe I spoke to you at length at the London Brick Show in November? I saw all your builds and they were awesome. The TV van bought back some memories. Can't wait to see them all on here.
