  1. ...and that one is mine . Not much help on BL, I'm afraid.
  2. Hey guys, I've found this while sorting through my collection recently and am quite perplexed by it. http://imgur.com/eTt0h4u.jpg (not embedded due to huge size) As you can see, it's one of the classic, rounded greatswords (the chrome kinds), but it's black - all the other greatswords I have, underneath the chrome coating, are trans-clear. I am 100% sure this is genuine LEGO - it comes from one of the Knights' Kingdom sets from 2000, since those are the only sets I have ever owned that include a greatsword, and I've never bought one loose online, and I've never had any clone brand in my house. It does, however, lack both the item number and the LEGO logo on the pommel, like the other greatswords I have; http://i.imgur.com/lrL7TIm.jpg (not embedded due to huge size) My suspicion is that it's either a mold error or it's from older stock. Does anyone else have chrome greatswords that are molded in black, or that lack the information on the pommel, particularly from one of the initial wave of sets that included this part (1995 Royal Knights theme, I believe)? Thanks!
  3. They're amazingly accurate considering the scale, I've only ever managed to do these using the 8-wide roof slope. Those sharp hood angles are sublime!
  4. Very cute, the little stand really does it for me. May have to try building one inside a bottle
  5. I'm always a little sceptical about revivals like these, especially when they replace the cast. So much of the charm of MSTK was in the characters, not sure I'll be able to relate to them in the same way, but time will tell. Sometimes it is honestly best to just let things end, I think, but there are occasions when reboots and revivals work extremely well.
  6. Watched Pan's Labyrinth with my little brother, I think it was a bad choice for a night-time movie
  7. I've seen a few of these printed part services on the web, and many of them only allow bulk orders due to the cost involved in the printing process. I'm glad to see you're planning on doing a more buyer-friendly single-purchase sort of deal, but I wonder how much each figure will actually cost, more or less? I see from your Kickstarter campaign rewards that it can't be that far from the $20 range, or am I way off the mark? Again, a really great idea, definitely a service I'd love to use over using waterslides.
  8. I find it very unreasonable to assume that LDD won't be receiving any more updates, since their big new product, LEGO Worlds, touts LDD compatibility as a selling point. They wouldn't have made LW compatible with the LXFML format if they didn't honestly intend to keep it around. You can already import models into LW from LDD, but only ones made with basic bricks. More advanced, interact-able bricks, like windows, doors, treasure chests, furniture, requires some tricks to get working. My guess is that they're working on a larger update to make modeling for LW easier (perhaps a dedicated LEGO Worlds mode). LEGO Worlds is due to release to retail in the not too distant future, so I don't think an LDD update is too terribly far off.
  9. It's definitely white - you can tell because the Emperor's shuttle has a light grey stripe down the nose, and there is definitely quite a bit of contrast between the stripe and the rest of the nose. Having said that, I don't think light grey would look bad at all, since most of the other OT ships were just a plain light grey, it would fit in fine. Besides, $100 is $100.
  10. There is actually quite a huge difference between the old X Wings (and the TIE fighters) and the new ones - they have sort of the same lines, but that's sort of where it ends. With the X Wings, the first major difference you can see are the semi-circular intakes rather than the old circular ones. It will take a bit of a redesign to get the UCS X Wing to look like the Ep VII version, not just a quick colour scheme change, I'm afraid. The link posted above gives you a good idea of the mods you'll probably need to do.
  11. Hmm that makes sense, but it is a shame since I was sold them as the genuine article - and at that premium.
  12. I ordered a couple of Batman I figures a while back from Bricklink, and I immediately saw something was a little off about them, but I put it down to a printing error. I ordered some replacements for them recently, and there definitely is something different about them - the torso printing has that raised effect that we know from the torsos they have in PAB, although the pegs are printed. The face print is horrendously distorted, and the arms have a serial number stamped up near the connection peg. These are 2006-2008 era minifigs, I had assumed that, pre-CMF, TLG only used Chinese plants for specialised parts and things like magnet sets and such. It crossed my mind that these Chinese figures could be from a magnet set, but the magnet was integrated into the actual figure back then. I've been scratching my head as to where these figures (Penguin and Mr. Freeze) actually came from. The figures from the Batman I sets I bought way back in 2006 don't have these same defects, so I don't think they're from a set.
