Ordered another Dol Guldur Ambush, hopefully will get it tomorrow. I am having a Beorn army, lol.

You mean like the Star Wars DVDs?
-
Does that mean we won't be seeing any previews anytime soon? (since it will be released in October) However, enough time to spend lots of money (bleed the wallet) on the current wave.

Thanks amperzand for showing that other hair pieces would look on the 'bald' orcs, those look great; but I'm with Alfadas that I would only use "legit" Lego pieces. Off to find different hair pieces at Bricklink for me!

Indeed, I've been buying them as much as my budget could handle, but still, I didn't get enough that I wanted (I purchased around 10, but still want more, but it got sold out since October last year). So now it is either pay premium for the set, get the figures from Bricklink or through trade.

Great Moc, I especially love the banners.

Thanks Kevkipo for sharing the email with us. I agree, those Elf Mirkwood Soldiers with Helmets are pretty good (the dwarves will be trade fodder for me though).

oh man, my wallet is going to bleed when these sets become available...
-
That is pretty good, it is all sold out in my area (no matter the store).

Black Falcons because they have a special place in my heart (not physically embedded I mean ). They are the figures that came with the first Lego Systems set I ever had and it was a random gift from my father when my family went to a Lego exhibition 25 years ago in Australia. At the end of the exhibition, my father asked my brother and me which one set we would want, and I got the 'Castle Guard' set. Good memories!

Unfortunately I couldn't help you here (I couldn't think of anything else) except by trading with you (if you are interested). I have Rohan soldiers (Eomer and normal versions) for trade if you are interested, I'm primarily looking for Moria Orcs (love those guys), but if you don't have much Moria Orcs, I'm willing to trade Rohan soldiers for Moria Orcs/Mirkwood Elves/Moldor Orc/Gundabad Orc mix (in order of want). p.s. How come you are able to create a thread here while under 100 postings?

I am in the process of building a Roman Centuria (with cavalry, archer and siege weapon support), got like around 70+ Romans.

Wow, nice! A small town in paradise. I love how there was an abundance of food.

Yea, I would have preferred that one of the Royal guards were taken out and replaced with the rare Navy Trooper that only exists in the Tie Fighter set.

What is the best set to buy to army build orcs?
h22chen replied to Alfadas's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I agree that the bald orcs are ridiculously cheap compared to the haired versions. Hence when I trade, I'm prepared to use more 'bald' orcs for 'haired orcs'. Another set for the "coffee" (that's what I like to call the Mordor colored orcs) are the Orc hunters from the 'Attack of the Wars' set; but that set is not cheap either, for 3 orcs (and one of them is a unique orc), it is hard to buy tons of the set. -
This is fantastic! Thank you for posting this!

Really slick and really sweet looking! Awesome! Looks very smooth and streamlined and the wing connectors looks great, doesn't even seem detached. Will you build the Tie Avenger or Tie Defender in the future?
-
I agree with the heads, maybe will have to go to bricklink for the alternate heads, good thing is, the 'fleshy' heads can be an "option". The Galaxy Patrol head might be interesting: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3626bpb698 I want to get 18 of this set to fill up the 4 LAATs (one squad each LAAT) I have and to put the 36 of the 181st troopers into the AT-TE.

Looks like it is time to save. On the plus side, it will probably be available for a few years due to it being a large set.

Anyhow this is part of my Host of Isengard, Go Saruman! This Isengard brigade is led by Lurrs (or maybe I confused him with the the leader of Omicron Persei 8) and his trusty lieutenant (the other Uruk Hai with the Hand of Isengard symbol on his armor). Of course the supreme commander is Saruman. My collection is not as grandeur as some of the others and I still have around another 20 Uruk-Hai in another country. Total count of the ones pictured is 58. With their casualty rate, they need the stunt doubles for distraction.

Love it! The color theme matches the figures and what I love the most is the castle is designed to be "self-sufficient" (there are living quarters, armory, courtyard). I especially love the living quarters.

Same, I got my Laketown guards mostly online too, my nearby Toysrus venue does not carry them and I have been looking for them the last few months.

Wow, a separation between the helmet and the backpack. Now, even though I like uniformity in army building, looks like sometimes a redesign is good! The helmet and backpack being 1 piece always have bugged me.
