Hello all, sorry to come again to complain :S. I thought I was one of the "lucky ones" when I could order Santa's Workshop at Shop@home germany. It was quite a big deal, 48 Euros instead of 70. That was Jan 1, order was confirmed on Jan. 2nd and I got the rest of my order on Jan 6. I was told the rest of my order will be shipped later. I got an email today saying they had an IT error the past few days and it said some of the items there on sale are available when they are not. So, we're very sorry.... I work in IT, (at least when I was not in parental leave). So they tell me they realised NOW, 19 days later that my set is no longer available? So my order was cancelled. Am I the only one here? They don't even say, we'll freeze it, and when we produce the workshop again you can have it for the same price. Or would you rather cancel or something? I seem to be having a streak of bad luck here, first my bike and shop set looks horrid (blue bricks showing serious discoloration) went to the shop and they took it back. Couldn't make really sure the other sets were okay, so I was offered a gift card instead. I was consoled by the fact that the workshop was coming next week. I even ordered some tan from Bricklink to make it biggger and so on, and now this? *sigh* can they really do this?

what a great idea with the maxi dolls. I love the building exterior and the details inside. It looks a bit crowded in some areas, though, but it still looks lovely :) Also wow, impressive town. Do you have an extra lego room?

Bricks cracking... just from being connected to one another?

Hmmm, does it mean that my unikitty id not safe? I have kept it assembled since I got it? -
Hi, I had the same issue with the bike and cafe shop. I went to the lego store to be sure which one is the right blue before I report it as broken and have them change it, and they offered me to get a new set. Just have to bring all the pieces. I was missing the minifigures and the car. Maybe give customer support a call? Hope this helps

Well, hmm, I read this on brickset, also on Brickfan though I would have to search for it too http://brickset.com/article/13709/[us-ca]-new-products-launched-at-shop-lego-com and here http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-december-2014-store-calendar-promos-and-events/ hope it is okay to post links here? And yes, I have never seen any polybag in our store in Cologne :( I know that we cannot expect to be given free stuff all the time, but I was so excited to get something exclusive for my niece who loves the friends series and also for the son of a friend who is so much into lego star wars and whose birthday is next week. I came expecting to buy some sets and also get some goodies for them and nope :( How true the saying, what you don't know doesn't hurt you.... Also, I got the bike shop in november so I would have enough for the ice skating scene and the calendar, and yeah.. wish I had bought it in October with double VIP points. So, rant out. But it is nice to know I am not the only one. thank you guys. And also I feel sad with the people who are doing even worse than us like paanjang. And well, to be honest, I just thought of people complaining they don't have a roof on their heads or food, now I feel like a jerk. :( *sigh*

Hello all, I don't know if this has only to do with germany or Europe. I would love to be less temperamental and say it in a nicer way, but really, Lego germany sucks!!! I just got back from the Lego store. I got my calendar. And what "lovely surprise". there is only ONE voucher for a minifigure in February. That's it. Period. Zero, Nada. Also, there is no friends or star wars promotion this month. Only the flower cart over purchases of 55 Euros. So, we have to pay more than in the US for sets. okay... maybe logistics. But no nice promotions, and also a substandard calendar? So, so dissapointed and angry.

Hi all! jut finished building it. It was great fun, though I encountered two issues: I seem to be missing a grey 1x2 plate and I am also noticing colour differences in the "powder blue" bricks. Anyone else? How do I go about it? contact lego or lego store? Thank you very much! Trish

Wow how lovely. Everything looks quite polished if you know what I mean. Great job with the fountain! Working with rounds things is hard and you pulled it off really nicely. Good luck!

how lovely! Wall-e is one of my favourite movies too :)

thank you very much Niku and ShaydDeGrai for your kind replies and giving me courage :D Well she already started, she takes my 2x4 blocks and put them together and says, "made it" and looks very proud. She also helped me open my advent calendar yesterday (I let her open the flap) and then she was faster than I, got the wig and showed me she wanted to put it on. Wow she did, so yes, I need to be super careful not letting any pieces around. Looking forward to building with her when she grows up a little bit more. Haven't told my mum yet, but I guess she'll just roll her eyes if she heard me telling her, "no sweetie, those are mummys toys". My little one only smiles back and says toooooys hihihi :)

Hello :) I bought it yesterday, yay! I let them wrap it so I don't feel tempted to open it before christmas :D And as a cool bonus I got the calendar (well the coupon for it) and the winter scene. Really happy! And well, noobie me, I saw a bunch of blue tiles in the PAB wall, so I got a big cup, got many of those and also tan 1*4 tiles, thinking of expanding it like you did. And when I asked while paying... it's not the same blue :-S hahaha. Oh well, maybe I can sort of put it in between and see if it doesn't look too bad. I think according to some pictures it should be dark azure. Who knows, it might be my "happy little accident" Thank you so much for the inspiration :D

Hello, thinking of entering for the first time. I'm not quite sure how to understand the size restrictions. Since I only have the winter market, how big can the baseplate be? Thanks in advance, Trish

Hello technic70s, you are right, I'm sorry if I offended you, it was not my intention. My daughter is going to be 2 this December so I still have some time to get used to the minidolls if she wants them in a few years (no idea for how long she'll like playing with duplo). Or I can just take your example and "friendszerise" her sets a bit. I like the colourfulness of the friends series very much. You did an amazing job.
-
How lovely! Very colorful. I like the Friendszerised houses too :) What I still can't stand, is those dolls. I like the happy colours in the friends line, but why don't they keep the same minifigs? it just seems to me as they give little girls the impression minifigs were too fat?? I don't want my daughter to have any body image issues Sorry for the rant :-(
-
Thank you :) I must admit it is quite intimidating hahaha, I hope I have some time this week so I can start something small first and thank you Balbo for the welcome as well :-) Ohhh I just realized we have minifig smileys. Yay!

This makes me really want to buy it. I am saving up for the parisian restaurant, but this shows how versatile this set can be. Thank you! Great work, btw.
-
Wow, amazing MOC. Very creative. I love the clothes racks, the 3d poster with the wave, and the compass tiles give it really a nice touch, like some kind of outdoor store.
-
wow a new ride would be so cool! I loved building it, but I must confess that although the idea of how everything is supposed to get in the truck and all is very cool, I could have done without it, same as with the fence. I guess when I am more confident building I would try to put it on another base.
-
thank you both for the warm welcome :) Sort of a bit scared to present anything here, everyone is just so amazing!

Hello all! I am Trish. I moved to Germany a few years back (10 years ago more or less). I played with my sister's lego when I was little (though we had like 50 bricks or so) you coudln't even make four walls, we had a door and a window) but well, so maybe this doesn't count so much as playing with lego . I resisted buying ego when I got older knowing that if I started I wouldn't be able to stop. I started going to the Lego store when my daughter was almost one year old (Duplo) and still could resist. But.... after watching the Lego Movie... I just couldn't wait any longer. I asked for Lego for my birthday, and when the fairground mixer came out, wow I just had to have it. I started realizing, I better play with these before my daughter gets older. I don't want to be one of those parents that would buy their kids the coolest toys, and then don't let the kids play with them (wait I can help you build this, let me show you, and then the kid is just crying in a corner just wanting to do things themselves) Oh no, I don't want to be like that. So I got myself I few used sets, plus the ones I got for my birthday. After building the sets with the instructions, which was quite fun,I am now looking forward to start doing some mocs of my own. I like the creator series the best, and the winter series (though it seems I started way too late) I only have the christmas market, the other sets are way too expensive, wow. And well, the parisian restaurant smiles to me every time I got to the Lego store.... Maybe next year :D until then.. I'll just smile back! Greetings! Trish

Wow, this is brilliant! I love the little details like the cleaning fish and the way you did the floor. It must be so difficult not to make everything look symmetrical! :)
