Which Themes Deserve a Reboot?
Dragonlego27 replied to Lancethecat's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'd love a special Castle crossover theme, which contains all (or nearly all) the elements of the different Castle themes, literally rebooting them all at the same time. At the centre is the Fantasy Castle line, with the humans and dwarfs, who now fight alongside elves (come on lego, make it happen . We want elves!) a new force who are allied with the forestman) against the evil forces of the Skeletons and trolls, who now have a new leader, Cerdic the Bull, with the Evil Wizard serving as an advisor. The WOLFPACK are also present, serving as Mercenaries or Sellswords in a rogue faction which generally harries the other forces and basically be awesome. they forge an alliance with the northern Vikings (with new monsters which are now moulded instead of brick built, who are also in league with the Dark Dragon Masters (more on them later). The kingdom of the humans is aided by the dragon masters, who are led by Majisto, who concentrates on fighting the Fright Nights, lead by Willa the Witch and Basil the Bat Lord, who are aided by the Dark Dragon Masters, who control some of the Viking monsters as well as their own black dragons. All these armies are focused on the staff of a long-dead wizard, the master of Majisto, the Evil Wizard, and Willa the Witch. The evil forces want to use it to rule all the kingdoms and the good guys are trying to stop them from attaining it. Lego, if you are reading this, please carry out this idea- 438 replies

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
Dragonlego27 replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I am the only person who dislikes the idea of a UCS Tie? It just seems so annoying that Lego answer my unvoiced pleas to make another Tie Fighter, then make it UCS, meaning it will not be minifigure scaled, will not fit with anything I own and probably not even contain any interesting minifigures, unless they do another UCS X-Wing and include a Imperial Astromech to fight R2-D2 while the two gigantic vehicles battle above them . I understand that it'll match the UCS X-Wing, but I'd be much happier if I was safe in the knowledge we'd get a standard Tie-Fighter as well (an occasion which would actually benefit from the modern trend of reducing the size of past sets). I love the other 2015 sets though by the way . Except for the Hailfire.... -
I like the Dol Guldur sets, and was pleasantly surprised when I first saw them and purchased them last year. They are good for displaying, have decent minifigures (except the Necromancer ), and you can see the Lego designers went into the effort of putting play features into them. Unfortunately, and this problem also extends to the Erebor set as well, is that they're just not three dimensional. This may sound odd, but if you have DGB then you might agree that the battlements are too small, the trapped rooms are almost pointless and the playability is limited. The problem is that the part of the structures we predominately saw in the films was primarily composed of bridges and stairs, so I half expected the sets to be several points, such as a Throne area and mine area linked by bridges with a set of stone stairs at the centre. With Dol Guldur I would have preferred two towers and a small wall area again linked by bridges with the area where Gandalf confronted the Necromancer at the centre. This design would look much more like the locations did in the films and make it easier to replicate the events of the films. I still really like the sets though .

LEGO LotR - general discussion
Dragonlego27 replied to General Magma's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
We're a bit beyond the "dead horse" now. I think we're now beating the earth where the horse had once lain, having battered it so many times by now that the poor, brave steed's remains have disappeared entirely from Middle Earth , while a few fans desperately try to reconstruct it's atoms and resurrect it via Lego Ideas, just so we can beat it past death again in a year or two . But, seriously now, although we have a half confirmation, we don't officially know that the theme is finished. Although I know in my heart that I'm probably wrong, I won't accept Lego has discontinued LOTR until three years after the last Middle Earth set has been released. And sets like BttF and Ghostbusters have shown us that through Lego ideas we can still get sets decades after the films, so not all hope is lost. And maybe one day we might see more Middle Earth films in the cinemas and Lego might make more sets. One can but hope. -

Unfortunately, Armoured Boromir is only in the EE, so I doubt we would get a set with-oh wait, Lego have done loads of EE minifigures, we're probably more likely to get his armoured variant than we are to getting the Witch King (and his fell beast) -
Jurassic World 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Dragonlego27 replied to adotnamedstud's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think that D-Rex will look a bit like a T-Rex, just bigger, with a larger skull and jaw for more teeth and (I am trying to think like the people animating this thing, so don't blame me if it sounds dumb) giant spikes along it's back. All I'm getting so far is a wingless dragon which can turn invisible . Sorry to all those dinofeatherphobics out there, but by the sound of it, many dinosaurs were actually feathered. I heard something a while back (please don't shoot me down on this if I'm wrong) that palaeontologists had discovered a feathered T-Rex in Japan, or some other country near it (sorry if I'm a bit vague, it really was ages ago.) Of course, although I find feathered dinos interesting, I think lego would have difficulties producing that in Lego form, so unless a Dinosaur is specifically feathered, like archaeopteryx , lego should keep them (skinned, scaled?) as usual. As for D-Rex looking like a T-Rex, I get the feeling it's actually going to kill one. They did the same with Spinosaurus after all, it's kind of customary for the new "alpha predator" to kill the last one. Of course, it may defeat a Spinosaurus to prove just how deadly it is , but I doubt the producers want to remind us of JP3. I too would like a Stegosaurus (or some sauruopod) would be nice too, anything in fact from the usual rex/raptor/trike/pterosaur formula, although I would like multiples of the first two in sets , just more exotic species as well.- 1,412 replies

Jurassic World 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Dragonlego27 replied to adotnamedstud's topic in LEGO Licensed
Spinosaurus may be a bit pathetic in animal kingdom terms but I won't care about how puny it is compared to other predators when I make it eat my poor pathetic humans . I didn't know the dilophosaur frills were fabricated, whether fictional or not it would still be a good dinosaur figure regardless. I hope we get it, one thing Lego Dinos showed was that Lego could benefit from a wider range of Dinosaurs. Dinobrick, It's interesting you brought up your "dinofeatherphobia", I was about to ask if there has ever been any archaeopteryxes in Jurassic Park. A Salecious Crumb style rubber figure of one of those, with a stud at the bottom and the wings outstretched, would send me on an endless quest to get as many of them as possible . It could even be a pet. On the subject of a raptor battlepack, another idea I quite liked was one posted earlier on this forum of including one raptor figure with every set. Of course, lego could do both .- 1,412 replies

Jurassic World 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Dragonlego27 replied to adotnamedstud's topic in LEGO Licensed
I definitely think we need a raptor battle pack, with some random humans, 2-3 raptors and a jeep. I think if we don't get a T-Rex in the JW wave, we'll definitely get one if we get a second JP wave. But what I want most is a new Spinosaurus, now officially the largest of all carnivore dinosaurs and my most favourite lizard of all time. I've seen the old one and it truly is as rubbish as everyone says-but a new one? I would buy ten of any set it came in , even if the rest of the set was a massive mess of green and brown bricks to represent trees and the minifigures were yellow . I just googled dilophosaur, and I agree that would be truly awesome . They could even do the flaps (someone feel free to correct me on their actual term) like Smaug's wings, so they can outstretch, then just tuck in by it's head.- 1,412 replies

I know Arthurian legends does have a lot of religion, but Lego did Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade sets and the whole plot of that was centred on the Holy Grail, very like a similar quest in Arthurian mythology. I don't think Lego would even need to buy a license, as they wouldn't be basing it on any particular media and could only do the child-friendly parts of the tales. And who wouldn't turn down a Lego Merlin?

Jurassic World 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Dragonlego27 replied to adotnamedstud's topic in LEGO Licensed
I did say my idea was stupid . And yes, I should have know better that they don't have shells, it's a cuttlebone. Sorry for my ignorance on cuttlefish anatomy . It's not my usual topic of discussion. Going back on topic, as it does not sound like Lego will be giving us sets from the first three films in the first wave, what are the chances of a second wave based on the first trilogy? In other waves such as Lone Ranger or PotC we've only had one wave. Will Jurassic Park sets be different?- 1,412 replies

Minas Tirith has a better design point for lego designers than Osgilliath, because how many ruins have we gotten in LOTR and The Hobbit by now? Although I can understand the problems with attempting to build the city, their execution of Helm's Deep gives me faith that, if they ever attempt, or have already attempted to create it in a reasonably designed set, they could pull it off. Osgilliath does have enormous play potential, within the £30 mark it could have an building with a platform for archers and an exploding function, a small catapult and the Orc landing boats from RotK, plus the six minifigures. You wouldn't even need anything apart from that for Gondor, that would give us pretty much everything we would need. It could even attach to another Osgilliath set, at £40, with the Witch King. My only question would be: which Faramir would we get? -
Jurassic World 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Dragonlego27 replied to adotnamedstud's topic in LEGO Licensed
I thought that as it's part cuttlefish, it could have some sort of shell or exo-skeleton (even stupider than what the Jurassic World designers will probably come up with, I know) but I forgot about their ability to change the colour of their skin as camouflage. Good call williejm. Also apologies for mistaking D-Rex for a hybrid dinosaur and not a movie monster, I merely gained the wrong impression with D-Rex, remarkably similar to T-Rex. I agree that with the new monster's range of abilities we have deduced already, and likely many more, the guys in Jurassic World are screwed and it's gonna be one hell of a lego set. Shame about the aquarium, but maybe we can get a Mosasaurus in a river set with a boat or pier or something, although it would have been able to show us more of the buildings in lego and given us loads of trans- 1,412 replies

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Dragonlego27 replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
So do you think we will get Ant-man sets (he was pretty cool in the Lego Marvel Game and that wasn't even the movie version), or do you think we will only get one wave of Avengers AoU sets. Sorry if this has been discussed already, I haven't read every page of this forum. It would be great if we had more than one Marvel film wave a year for all the new Phase 3 stuff (there's going to be three a year if I remember rightly). -

I thought that Gondolin or Nargothrond would have a higher chance of being made via Lego ideas (if someone actually designed them) but unfortunately Gondolin would look a bit too much like Minas Tirith and as for Nargothrond-an underground kingdom full of riches inhabited by an evil dragon-ring any bells? -
Jurassic World 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Dragonlego27 replied to adotnamedstud's topic in LEGO Licensed
I doubt that D-rex will differ hugely from any "normal" dinosaur, although from some written descriptions it may sound quite bizarre, I vaguely remember how one description stated it's DNA was part cuttlefish, although does not mean it will look abnormal, weren't the Dinosaurs from the first film's DNA mixed with lizard or frog genes? From what I can tell, it will merely be like most predators, just with more teeth and spikes. Maybe that might be nothing to get excited about, but I'm hyped for that thing's lego form, especially with the rumours that it might be in a monorail set. I also love the idea of an aquarium set with a mosasaur, and all those trans pieces- 1,412 replies

I would love Heimdall and (proper, not the Avengers version) Loki minifigures, although I think as there is not a plausible AoU set they would go in it is more likely they would be versions from Thor: Ragnorak. I would be happy to be wrong though... -

As there is already some MOC's of these sets, it think there is a 2 in a billion chance of the sets being made I know they aren't particularly well known scenes, but I merely wished to draw the forum's attention to the sets as well as the designer's impressive abilities (in my opinion) to manage to represent such difficult parts of the book (I barely knew what was going on when I first read that part). I also have a soft spot for Lego Werewolves and dark sorcerers such as Morgoth/Melkor. -
LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
Dragonlego27 replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Lego made their first Maul figure in 1999, when their wasn't nearly as many new moulds or moulds in the high standard we are used to today, so maybe felt other pieces were more important or unique moulds and since then have apparently decided not to bother (their have only been two PT versions of him) and it would also be difficult to make it look like the film version while allowing a figure to wield it two handed like he did in the films (I have been trying to MOD a double bladed lightsaber for years, to no reasonable avail). -

I love the ideas for Minas Tirith and would get any of the versions suggested, or either of the sets on Lego Ideas, although right now, I'm so desperate for more Middle Earth Lego I would buy a simple plain grey minifigure for fifty pounds if it came with the official Gondor Helm. However, when I was supporting the Barad Dur this morning, I discovered these on the website. http://ideas.lego.com/projects/83674 http://ideas.lego.com/projects/83671 These projects spectacularly blew my mind, despite the fact they are an MOC prototype, the two sets are both beautifully designed and have captured the mythical feel and epic grandeur of the Silmarillion perfectly. I also feel that the designer of the sets has captured the minifigures really well, I especially like Melkor, although with Lego printing he could be even better. What do you guys think? I know that usually a set, or series of sets, have to have a multimedia supporter, unless they are unlicensed, but I truly hope these two sets, and hopefully many future more, are somehow approved by Lego. The Silmarillion, despite the fact that many think of it as a boring fictional history book (I'm generalising here and do not intend to aim this at anyone in this forum), the novel has many moments of epic drama and these two sets somehow embody the scenes perfectly.
