Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
mrbean replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I came across this smaller scale hulkbuster. Sorry, don't know how to upload a picture. https://www.flickr.c...04/16705736501/ detailed instructions are at http://yolo.tistory.com/213 -
I myself am content with the observations of the people that have posted, and realize that it doesn't amount to a statistically significant survey. It's Lego after all :). My observation is that the Hobbit sets were absent from most retailers in the new year. Since then I've seen the sets at more locations but they're still not carried by all the online retailers I regularly check. This suggests to me that these sets aren't as popular as others so these retailers aren't interested in stocking them.

What are your plans for the second Hulk? Selling it seems like such a hastle if you don't have a Bricklink store. -

I'd also like a green goblin, but I think I'll just wait for an adult set. The goblin in the Juniors set appears too childish to me. -
If you can't update the main photo, maybe update the text telling people to check the updates for new photos. You've made a nice set, good luck.

It took me a few minutes to actually notice colour differences, I was originally looking for some misaligned printing or other defect :) All 3 of mine have the blue vest and brown undershirt.

Recently I managed to buy Lonely Mountain and Battle of 5 armies for 20% off at Walmart, in store. Still need to get Lake town and Witch king battle, and then I'll have the full middle earth theme to date.

I just noticed that Benny's Spaceship is also not in the 2015 catalogue. This set was released this summer, and I imagine Lego will be making it for a long time yet. So does the absence of a set from the catalogue actually mean anything? I originally thought stores could only order what was in the catalogue, but the lack of the popular spaceship set seems to invalidate that theory.

So far I've collected all the LOTR and Hobbit sets, except for the newest wave. All my previous sets I bought at 20% off, which is about as good as it gets in Canada. I'm starting to feel nervous though, as the newest wave isn't available online at any of the usual retailers like TRU, chapters, or amazon.ca. The newest wave also doesn't show up in the 2015 catalogue. The sets were released in mid October so I feel I should still have time to wait for a sale, but I'm starting to get a bit antsy. When is the soonest we could expect this theme to end, and is there likely to be any sort of warning that the end is coming? If anybody else is waiting to pick up these sets for a discount, just curious what your plans are.

I was admiring both your creations and wondering where he got those tusks from, then realized I could just remove the helmet horns from the Hun Warrior from CMF 12. Thanks for sharing your ideas.

I wish the colours of these dinos were more realistic, they seem too bright to me. I much prefer the dinos from 2012.

I have no idea who plastic man is, but to me it looks like Christo's version isn't wearing any pants. Along with the exposed chest that figure is half naked, I'm not surprised Lego went with the tamer version. The facial expression of Christo's version is great though.

This set has a horrible price per piece cost. Judging from pictures I don't see how they valued it so high, at least the lonely mountain set comes with a dragon, making it easier to swallow.

What brand of bins are the ones with the blue handles, and where did you buy them? They look quite nice, I don't think I've seen them here in Canada.

how to connect lego head accessories to stud
mrbean replied to mrbean's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Thanks for the ideas. I tried them all and was only happy with the stud flower piece connection, the others didn't hold the crow (the plume stick is much smaller than the unikitty horn, which I tried initially). I have one of those stud flowers in light green and that fits fine in a tree. For a black stud I was thinking about drilling a small hole, but that seems like cheating. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. -
I have some lone ranger sets, and would like to use the crow piece from tonto's head and use it on its own in a tree, telephone pole, or house. Any ideas how to attach it?

Does that statement mean it will stand up to a 7 year old playing with it? The part that looked really fragile to me is the joint where the wings fold. I'm also worrying a bit that the ball joints will be too loose and the wings will start drooping from their own weight.
-
I agree, I would be fine with just a gate, grond, and figures. The whole of Minas Tirith is just so massive I wouldn't have room to display it.
-
For those that have Smaug already, how durable are his wings? They look really fragile to me and I'm worried they'll tear, or wear out at the joints or something. That's why I'm also contemplating buying the Castle dragon, which has more rugged wings. I'm also liking the Castle dragon wings more because the attachment pieces can just be replaced if they wear out, and they could also be used to make something like a Balrog.

Looks awesome. It's kind of depressing that these latest sets didn't come with a troll though. Yes, we get Smaug, and I'll pay an arm and a leg for that set. But to justify the price of the Bo5A set they should've thrown in a bigfig. As it stands I'm really having a hard time with the price of it, there's no wow factor like in the above picture.

I guess I was hoping for more focus on armies and less focus on the tower. There have been plenty of sets with a wall/tower in this theme, I'm just not that excited about this one. My memory of the book is that the battle took place in the fields where the armies were camped, and not around some tower. A few more bad guys and another siege weapon would've been nice.
-
I had a look at the Battle of 5 armies set, and the set doesn't match well with its name. What's the point of the tower? I remember this battle happening on a field, they should have built more siege weapons or field defenses. This is also supposed to depict massive armies clashing, so where are they? I see 3 bad guys attacking 5 good guys, seems they're in for a beating as the good guys have 2 bows to take them out. Maybe I'll like it better after seeing the movie, but my first impression is not impressed. This set seems the most pointless of all the hobbit sets.
