not seen the sea harrier before! , well impressed! Sadly the real harriers have recently been junked after a 750million refit. The Nimrods were almost there after 4billion, but now scrapped also.- 757 replies

1992 Vector W8 Supercar
skyliner replied to skyliner's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yes indeed too much brightness, my photo skills are not brilliant. I needed high brightness for the background to appear pure white. -
I must admit i am a little dissapointed by the quality of the final 6.[3 are blantant MOC copies, one is a modified 8070 FFS!] I thought this competion had alot of potential, obviously i was wrong. The lego technic panel must be poorly informed individuals, who are they? perhaps they should be named? and shamed! or perhaps i am misunderstanding the entry criteria? Skyliner

Back in 1972, Gerald Wiegert, a 24 year old designer, presented the very first and ultimate American supersportscar-prototype, called Vector, at the Los Angeles Motorshow. He needed 18 years to get it into production, then called W8-TwinTurbo. in 1990, the first 5 W8 were built, including 2 prototypes. In total, there were only 19 W8 built, between 1990 to 1992. Out of 19 cars, there are 4 cars in Europe. Jerry Wiegert is still trying to get some new Vector supercars on the road. In 2010, Spark-Models made the Vector enthusiasts happy, by selling models in 1:43. This is my Technic Lego version of the Vector W8 a follow up to the Lamborghini Countach Approx 1500 parts. Front steering, front / rear low suspension, opening scissor doors / engine hatch. V8 Chrome engine. Thanks for looking. skyliner

from lego.com LIMIT: Every person can submit more entries to the building challenge, but only one (1) entry per person will be considered when the final winners are selected. The 10 winners of the building challenge will be selected by a LEGO jury consisting of LEGO Technic designers and marketing responsible. Once registered, entrants can submit entries into the Challenge by creating and uploading their own LEGO Technic model using pieces from the LEGO® collection, primarily LEGO® Technic elements. File format must be in .png, .jpg or .gif, and NOT to exceed 2,5 MB in size. The entry must be the entrant’s own work. Once you submit your file, you will be officially entered into the Challenge. Challenge entries cannot be revised or altered once submitted. Once submitted, all submitted components become the property of the Challenge Entities and will not be returned.[/b][/b] Building Challenge judging will begin at 01:00:00 AM Central European Time (“CET”) on April 19 2011 and will end at 11:59:59 PM CET on April 20 2011. All entries will be reviewed by a panel of LEGO® Technic Designers based on the following criteria: creativity, originality and theme. Note, entries must be created using only pieces from the LEGO collection and primarily LEGO® Technic pieces. The 10 models that score the highest cumulative scores in the review will go into a group of Semi-Finalists from which One (1) Grand Prize Winner will be selected by online users of the LEGO Technic web site. previous months winner. skyliner

Top work! thanks again for your time and effort skyliner -
hello nico I would be happy to buy MOC instructions, with a part list either in CAD ideally or photographic in PDF format, in the £5-£15 GBP price range. I enjoy seeing building techniques behind the models. I would not buy a kit, as once i have the parts list i can buy from bricklink what i need to build. I personally understand that reverse engineering an MOC can be a great challenge. Alot of MOC's out there do not have instructions, so reverse engineering is the only option. I would like to see all MOC's carry at least a part list so others can have a crack at building. I can also understand the rational for not producing plans for an MOC because of the time involved. skyliner

Large Scale Technic Cars
skyliner replied to Blakbird's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
As you have provided all your highly detailed instructions FOC to me it would only be fair for me to send you a copy of the countach. regards skyliner Skyliner, would you object if I posted a parts list of the orange parts which would be required? It seems that the angle connectors and flex hoses would be the hardest. ok by me. skyliner -

Hello Jurgen Your instructions are really very well done, what CAD programmes did you use? -

No parts in the model are forced, and none pull apart. It fits together well. However you need to build it to see that. -
Large Scale Technic Cars
skyliner replied to Blakbird's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The reason i charge is due to the time it takes to build and put together instructions. I do not force people to buy them. Perhaps you should build the model? confirm if it is as flawed as your expert eye predicts? skyliner -

Top collection Blakbird, where do you find the time??? for all this building and CAD! The countach is also in my brickshelf folder skyliners brickshelf folder countach instructions can be emailed, if you contact me. Not a CAD file but sequential photos of how to build in pdf, with parts list. I have revised the pdfs so they are now printable. -
Thanks for the comments, i decided to go with the LP400 initally, without a rear wing. The LP500 is the later version with a wing and wheel arches. Yes, suspension is possible. I initally placed suspension in the model but decided to remove it as i was concentrating on the asethetics of the body and styling. Getting the model to 'look' correct from all angles is a difficult thing with the countach! This model is not exactly matched, but as close as i could get by using current lego parts. Yes credit for the chrome wheels idea is due to crowkillers, and inspiration was drawn from his lamborghini's, However the countach has a completely different chassis, steering and drive mechanism, door opening mechanism etc and body shell. sky
