I'm sorry, did you miss the Defender with the gatling gun in his chest? If you mean just the Masters and LOSS, then yes, I agree that losing launchers is a breath of fresh air.

That's not 18 in a wave, that's 18 in a year. In that case, Ninjago had around 32 sets in its first year (the number is inflated by the sheer amount of spinner sets, though)

Yeah, but then again, we never saw that sort of worldbuilding after Mata Nui in the original Bionicle either, and for some reason people liked the story still. I agree it would be nice to have a fully fleshed-out world like 2001 again, but part of why 2001 was able to do that was MNOG, which focused on the Matoran rather than the Toa, which meant more time to see what their culture was like. Considering, even if these are Matoran, they all look alike, I doubt we'll get much story focus on them. They don't even have names yet.

How is Okoto any less plausible a name than Mata Nui? How is battling darkness any different than 2001? That being said, I did notice a suspicious contradiction; one of the question answers mentions mini movies, yet another question specifically about movies and mini-movies says they cannot comment on future plans, when it seems to be implied they already have mentioned mini-movies. Could be a fault on LEGO's part, but could also be an easy mistake to make if you were faking official FAQs. EDIT: For what it's worth, Merlin Mann is a real person (despite his name kinda sounding like something you would make up off the top of your head), though he doesn't seem to have a ton of experience writing videos.

Ugh, going to the TTV forums feels like entering Mordor... Anyway, the wording seems to be just vague enough on some points to make it completely impossible to accurately tell if it's a continuation or a reboot (though I would say it leans reboot, as usual)

If Vezon appears I will do something overdramatic that i haven't thought of yet that shows how completely sick i am of Vezon I would rather have Makuta back than Vezon, and that's saying something.

I would find it quite odd if they actually changed Lewa's elemental power to jungle, considering of all the elements to remove, I would never have suspected one of the basic 4.

...are you responding to the hoax from a couple pages back? Last I checked, there was still nothing that definitively said "continuation".

I only just noticed that. Well, that clears up that mystery.

...what do you mean "the same piece used for Lewa's shoulder pads"? Lewa's shoulders just have a weird construction that uses the Beast talons from this wave, not some weird new piece. As for Onua's hammer, that's most definitely a Ben 10 foot piece. His hammer's construction is simple, really. The only thing left to be shown is how the new pieces attach, since we have no idea what connection points they use. I hope they have an axle connection instead of a ballcup; I'd hate for the hammer's head to be wobbly and flexible.

This is going to sound really lame, but my main reason for wishing Onua didn't have his bulky silver shoulderpads is because without silver, he has the color scheme of the best LEGO set of all time. (Okay, the Limo has a couple light grey/silver pieces, but none as jarring as Onua's massive shoulders.)

actually i'd say the shells are probably Dark Orange; the new picture cements this belief. i'd say the chances of those shells being any other color are approximately 0 to nil

That's what's bugging me with the Miru, too. Its face is covered with all these unnecessary ridges and stuff when it could easily have been much smoother and more evocative of the original. The Kaukau bugs me becauseh it's squished, stretched, smashed, and barely even resembles the original at all. It'd be a nice mask... if I wasn't supposed to accept it as a Kaukau.

Matching the exact angle would have been pretty difficult but hopefully this at least shows what I meant about foreshortening? it looks like a shorter bone, but since I assembled this myself I guarantee it's the bone I've been arguing for.

No, I cannot see that as anything but a pretty clear hole. His arm's angle makes modules hard to judge because it's pretty severely foreshortened but there is almost definitely a second connector hole there. edit: also I'm kind of confused that it's the one in the back you question; unless it's a new bone piece, there's no existing bone piece that has a connector hole below the ball joint but not above it. therefore, excluding the possibility of a new bone piece, the existence of the lower connector hole is evidence enough of the upper one. I suppose a new bone isn't entirely out of the question, but it would be the first new one since the 3M double cup piece from Breakout, I think.

It's almost definitely the foreshortening; I can pretty clearly see two connector holes. At first I thought the second one was from the hand socket, but it's not; I can see the edge of the hand socket past it. If that is not the same piece as his lower legs, I will eat my hat. So far in this topic, I have not once had to consume my headgear when making such a wager.

oh hey just noticed LOSS is sneakin' around in the background of the box art. he's stylized so as to not look so ugly though. edit: well, obviously he's not on his own, and i can't locate him on Gali's, but he's definitely on the other four.

...riiiiight. Clearly, we have different ideas on proportions, because when I see something like the Mata Nui set from 2009, it bugs me to no end that they have ridiculous arm-to-leg ratios, even if "bionicles arent humans". Not to mention part of the issue here is that his upper and lower arms aren't even in proportion to each other.

... why do people act like just because it's a flaw from the old sets, it cannot be criticized in the new sets?

Yes, it's the elbows that are really getting me. Compared to his upper arms, his lower arms are far too long. There's only one studs length difference between arms and legs here, so the only reason they don't dangle lower is because of how high they've moved the shoulders.

I prefer personalized eye colors, like 01-05. I like more variety than "these eyes mean good, these eyes mean evil". And, as I said, in 2008, that was compounded with terrible color schemes. That was a terrible year for colors. also I could be looking at the picture wrong (I hope to god I'm looking at the picture wrong) but who's ready for terrible arm proportions again that's not actually supposed to be a guess at the gearbox, i just wanted the shoulder to be the right height
