I mean, the word I'd use is "crime", but sure, "privilege" works too.

"2006 was the most profitable year for BIONICLE"
Grima replied to TwistLaw's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Can I see some source on this? It seems unreasonable to plan a 10 year story for a toyline that could fail in one. I always assumed there had to be a point at which they were coming up with new things. Are you sure all those books were created back in the beginning? -

It confirms there's a hobby store that exists, not necessarily that it's his or that he has the catalog. Not that I can think of anything he can do to prove himself without simultaneous risking himself. I just advise caution. Without images, it can be hard to tell what is real and what is fake.

"2006 was the most profitable year for BIONICLE"
Grima replied to TwistLaw's topic in LEGO Action Figures
To my knowledge, the original Bionicle was only planned up to three years as well (hence Mask of Light ending saying they had woken Mata Nui, when they hadn't.) Considering it continued another seven years after, how much they have planned definitely shouldn't be considered indicative of when the line would end. Not that I necessarily want Bionicle G2 to drag on if it truly has nothing else good to do after those three years. A story carrying on with the sole motivation of profit will show it. -

Knocking the horns wouldn't knock the mask off, though; if you smack down on the horns, you hit the mask-hitting part down into the skull, not up into the mask. Unless you're suggesting they're designed with upwards swings in mind?

Arguably they tried something similar here with the horns. I don't quite like the idea of attaching horns to the eyestalk lever, though, especially when it ends up with an ugly head like Basher's.

It wasn't black, it was silhouetted. Nothing says mystery like a silhouette.

Skull Grinder has the mystery mask??? who could've seen that coming :OOOOO Skull Grinder's exposed crotch is going to bother me, but otherwise not much to complain about there. Otherwise my opinions pretty much hold steady: Skull Basher is okay besides the terrible horn attachment, and the other three are lackluster, with Scorpion still being hideous. Also the new addon just doesn't feel quite right to me; it seems too detached from the shell it's attached to.

I've seen a couple other people propose "infected" as a reason for the coloration, but that doesn't make sense to me. I would think they'd choose a single unified color to represent infection if that were the case, like maybe a trans red-gunmetal gradient or something to that effect. Instead, the upper half of the mask matches the translucent color of their element, leading me to believe it's tied with the masks being either elementally charged or being reduced to their element to power the forge.

If he has a bashing function, I would have preferred some form of blunt weapons to the axes he has. I can't think of many uses for an ax in bashing them together that aren't much better utilized with blunt weapons.

Ugh, the horns on Skull Basher do not work out well at all. They stick too far out for their size and thickness at the base. Maybe if the skull was less gracile, it'd work better. The pointless trans orange is still terrible, too; the chest print's attempt to bring it out a little more doesn't work.

If it was gold, that would be obvious in the image provided, wouldn't it? It may be debated by some if it's trans orange, but it certainly has no gold.

"Here's a better look" *links pixelated, blurry image that I can't make heads or tails of* (in fact, the only thing I can make out from that is that the back of the mask decidedly does not match the shape of the Hau's) Grinder definitely has the mystery mask, too; considering he is wearing it quite clearly in two separate preliminary images, and they don't put new pieces on a preliminary picture as a placeholder for an old one, it's pretty clear he's wearing that mask. It was your passive-aggressive ugly winky face that started the attitude; clean your own house before lecturing others on attitude.

Okay, the first part was me confusing Skull Warrior and Skull Slicer, which I do a lot, so that's all me. I'm not going to contest that Skull Warrior has the mystery mask... ...because that exact logic is going to prove that the Skull Grinder is wearing the same exact mask even here. If you compare the two's masks, the upper part (the only part that I can really make out on Grinder) is near identical. Same shape and textures. Also the prelim was clearer on the mask than this, especially the second prelim with Tahu, Ekimu, and Grinder, which showed, without a doubt, Grinder wearing the mystery mask, so I'm entitled to be as snarky as I want.

Right, the two images we have of Skull Grinder with the mystery mask were inconclusive; this unclear photo proves it's a Hau and the finalized-looking Skull Warrior is still just wearing a placeholder. Also that's trans lime green on Skull Scorpion, not trans yellow. It's obvious in this image, where it even has a greenish tint. Notably, they each have the trans color associated with the Toa they have the mask of. (Lewa didn't have one, but his Protector's trans bright green cemented it as a Jungle color.)

Still not a fan of Skull Scorpion (if anything, I've gained a new complaint in how the head sits.) There's also all that ugly trans-orange cluttering otherwise-decent color schemes. Loving the dual-colored Toa masks, but I do question the lack of them for Tahu and Gali. Maybe there'll be store exclusives with those masks? It just strikes me as an odd omission if these masks have any plot relevance. (Which they might; my "villains steal the Golden Masks for the powers to light the forge" theory is only bolstered by elementally-tinged golden masks.)

No, bones aren't white, but that's never stopped LEGO before. They made a fossil white, and fossils aren't even close to white. White is immediately recognizable as bone to the common person, so it's the go-to color for the skeletal look.
