  1. NZD450 is 295EURO. Perhaps i better take my holiday in the UK this summer.
  2. OH DEARRRRRR!!!!!! :(
  3. I was a little disappointed when I first saw it, but once I realised the colours were oversaturated in the original images, I like it a lot more now. I'm definitely buying 2 sets so I can widen the buildings. Rather nervous at how much the New Zealand price will be (as well as availability, which can be a bit hit and miss here). As for the spaceship post - it made my day! :D
  4. I was expecting TLG to never retire the Pet Shop, as it seems to be the gateway drug to modular addiction.
  5. Nice job on the brownstone! Those velociraptor cops are so cool too!!
  6. I'm actually kind of disappointed that the outside is a bit basic and not as elaborate as the other designs - I was hoping for something less modern and less Lego City-ish. But hopefully the interior will be amazing to make up for it.
  7. I finally finished my bricklinking for the blue grocer (sand blue). It cost me all up from scratch NZ$391 + shipping (although I bought an extra petshop for the blue bricks - mostly I found there wasn't that much else useful in it). Luckily, I paid for everything before the exchange rate crashed. Still waiting for a package to arrive then I can start!! :D Excited! I bought mostly new and made a substitution for blues instead of green and the train windows.
  8. Wow - this looks amazing! I had no idea how well the cool yellow would fit in. Great job!
  9. I was also happy with it - I am going to use some of the ideas for fitting out my bricklinked Green Grocer and I also like the awesome black lamppost ideas. It's pretty good for a relatively inexperienced AFOL like myself.
  10. I really don't want a tan detective agency, because there is already a lot of tan in the PC and GE - although those are both corners, so I guess you could just avoid putting the detective agency next to them... The Friends yellow IS pretty cool - that could be great!
  11. I found a picture of how the Natural History Museum on Lego Ideas would look next to the other modulars - I'm surprised at the size. I thought it wouldn't really fit in that well. Unfortunately, it is slipping down off the most-supported list. I really how it gets to 10 000 and maybe considered. I would go crazy for it!
  12. I've finally finished my bricklink ordering for my GG! I was originally going for sand-green, but after finding none in New Zealand, I bit the bullet and bought another PS and will do it in sand-blue. Personally, I prefer the blue, but wanted the green, because it's a GREEN grocer (ha ha). I'm still building my PR so hopefully my packages will arrive once I'm done. It's my first attempt at brick-linking, but I want to make some of the designs from brickcitydepotnext year. Not sure if I'll make the CC, beause I already have Emporium and cinema, so that's 2 corners so far. I ended up buying the PS when I decided to do a blue GG - mostly I did it because it was easier for me than getting the blues for a lot of different overseas shops and the PS was on an amazing discount, but apart from the blues, windows, doors there aren't a lot of other bits which are compatible. So I probably wouldn't have bought it if the parts were easy to get in NZ. That being said, I now have an extra brown house to work with!
  13. I'm warming a lot to a Detective Agency - although I know I'll like it anyway, as I'm a modular junkie. It would have to be pretty bad for me not to want it. I'm about to start bricklinking a GG, which should tide me over for a while. I wonder if the detective agency is perhaps more modern inside and traditional outside?
  14. Wow, the Sand Blue looks really nice. I am about to brinklink myself a Green Grocer and I think I'll go for the blue as well. Thanks for sharing!
  15. Hi everyone, I am relatively new to Lego - we didn't have it when I was a kid (very hard to get in NZ in the early 80s and couldn't afford it anyway) apart from a small space set I shared with my brother. Fast forward to 2014 and a major addiction to the modulars! I bought the Pet Shop and after that I was hooked. I am hoping to bricklink a Green Grocer set and found this site when i was browsing to find other people's customisations. Nice to meet you all! Teresa :)
  16. I love that Museum - I would happily pay for the greater brick count, but I suspect Lego might think that no-one would. It would be great if it came out as a "Special Edition" or something so that the brick numbers are not such an issue (other than cost) and it doesn't encroach upon the yearly modular format/count). Do you think it is a project which the designer might release instructions for sale if it doesn't get approved by Lego for a kit? I would love to have it, but my skills aren't really good enough yet to try and figure out a version for myself. Being new to Lego, I don't know much about that stuff. Lego wasn't readily available in New Zealand when I was a kid and we were dirt poor anyway, so it's only really as an adult I have gotten into it. Those modulars are as addictive as lollies!
  17. That natural history museum on Lego Ideas is amazing! I hope it gets to 10 000. It's on 6500 right now.
  18. I'm so excited (and I just can't hide it!). When do the likely rumours come out? Is it usually around about October? I would love a retail/residential bookshop.
