That's the entire point of the channel. He doesn't do this to make movies look bad, nor does he think they are bad. He just points out some small illogical things that nobody would realize or think about and calls them 'sins', for entertainment. Sure there are few technical things he gets completely wrong, such as how minifigs are supposed to fit on bikes, but every other 'sin' is valid and pretty much like in every other video on his channel. Also, watch this.

Eh, they're not bad, but superhero ones were much better.

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
Cagast replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
This is for the movie thread, but I think there's going to be a shift on the very end, and an emotional scene when something happens and Garmadon shows love to Lloyd, and the world is safe... yes it's a cliche, but I can't imagine it ending any other way.- 4,591 replies

That's because those 99% of them are kids/teens. And I agree, on literally every twitter/facebook post about the movie I see at least 20 people totally trashing the movie. It was like that even when the only thing we knew about it were voice actors. If the negativity is so strong now, I can't even imagine the hate that will be spread across the internet once the movie comes out. Come on. It's not that much different. You're acting like they changed the whole premise and the point of the franchise. What makes Ninjago what it is - ninja heroes, spinjitzu, elemental powers, dragons, mechs and vehicles, the Ninjago city, unique world - is still there. Every big franchise, especially franchises such as Ninjago, eventually gets something slightly different. First I thought it could affect classic sets based on the TV show, but now we know for sure that won't happen, so this movie can only do good for the franchise.

That's a really big assumption to make right now, considering how little information and footage we have. I'm fine with the slapstick and a different take on Ninjago, because I didn't expect anything else from a movie with this sort of "fake stop motion" animation style. I think a movie with TLM style animation but Ninjago TV series plot and lore, would be terrible. They just don't fit each other. Otoh, a full movie with CGI like the TV series wouldn't work either, because personally I think the action and plot from the show better fit the TV series format, I imagine a film would be rather boring. The TLM style animation seems to fit with chaotic kaiju inspired battles and Ninjago's theme overall. Even better than the show actually, which sometimes takes itself too seriously and serves us too many dramatic and emotional scenes, when shortly after you realize you're watching a cartoon about lego people, or precisely, rainbow colored ninja lego people, fighting goofy cliche villains in giant vehicles. Now, I do not like that the main focus seems to be the Ninjago city, and that main villains are too alien-like (something that fits better in a 90's Space subtheme). Also, the city surprisingly doesn't look oriental enough to me, and it's way too similar to Bricksburg from TLM, and that feels so wrong. I want more battles in Japanese landscapes and temples, and vehicles that look like samurais came from the past and built them, not like they came from Space Police. And yes, the Taylor Swift song in the end pretty much ruined the teaser.

LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion

He will be "uber-rad". Whatever that's supposed to mean. -
I think there was an article long ago about a "dystopian" Bricksburg being the setting of the movie. Since Finn will have aged definitely, he'll obviously get some new interests and completely forget about Legos, and just throw them in some dark basement or stash them in bags, boxes, and make their world a dystopia. That seems like the perfect (and most logical) thing to do with the story.

Is Catanas supposed to be a "hinter"? Also, what about 80's cellphone costume guy? (I know this one is not exactly 80's but I'm just trying to visualize it, I can see this kind of costume happening)- 1,421 replies

What's up with these hairpieces, I don't understand? Is this how they will appear physically in the sets as well? Because, what's the point of making entirely new molds for their hairpieces if they are only slightly alternated version of already existing pieces? -
I don't like their faces, only Nya's seems right. Zane's overall look is disturbing. And I agree that he looks more like an astronaut. Other than that, what the voice actors said sounds surprisingly interesting. I'm glad to hear the ninjago movie won't be an exception in "Lego Cinematic Universe" when it comes to pieces of comedy that adults like, I really thought they would ditch that for Ninjago at least. Well, from being a simple Lego action theme with a cliche 40 minute long ad, which was supposed to be cancelled after 2 years, to a blockbuster movie for which Jackie Chan's team does fighting scenes... Who would've thought Ninjago would be this successful?

Condiment king is there!

This... when ninjago theme started, everyone complained about "candy colored ninjas". I didn't mind it that much because these 'ninjas' from the theme aren't even real ninjas in first place (assassins) and even real assassin ninjas actually didn't wear black robes and masks. Anyway, I didn't expect that so many people would dislike the black design. Well, definitely. If the Batman movie has Sauron, Voldemort and King Kong (!), this one will have too... though probably something more like Nexo knights or Chima characters. I can imagine TMNT characters in short roles as well. That's actually a very interesting point and I totally forgot that it's supposed to be a thing until you mentioned it now... Maybe they totally ditched spinjitzu for the movie, because it would be too difficult to animate properly with actual lego pieces?

Seems like some alien/space villain piloting an odd looking futuristic flying saucer just like something from some Space theme. Which becomes ironic when you look at just three posts above:

You're looking at the wrong box. There is actually one "tall" minifig, or a fig with very tall hat similar to Marge Simpson, on the blue box. It may be hard to see especially if you're on mobile, but just follow the outline right between the highest yellow minifigure on the box and another one left to him. I think it could be the rocket suit guy.- 1,421 replies

Agreed. I like how everybody went extremely deep with even with the tiniest hints. At this point more appropriate name for the thread would be CMF Series 17 Guessing Game.- 1,421 replies

After a second look... you are right, I didn't even notice. Well I am sorry, and corn-graculations on making that 7 pun cornbo, as punny posts on EB are rare. (yes I know my puns suck!) Cone with a handle? That seems too simple and generic for a CMF.- 1,421 replies

The picture of corn suit mold was posted here on the day we found out there is a Corn Suit Guy, so that was never just a rumor. And that's a pretty good custom town crier! To be honest I never knew town criers were something iconic, but now I'd say there's a high chance that he's in the series, especially since it fits with the letters and the silhouette.- 1,421 replies

Keep in mind that Corn Cob guy's clothes could be placeholders. That torso is Banana Guy's torso as well. And just realized, 'V' could be a new Viking. It's the same in every language so there's no problem with that, and it fits 5) 6) and 12) from the hint list. A more badass looking viking with a beard and better armor is possible, since the last one was in S7 (and it was a woman).- 1,421 replies

I don't even understand how is the Preeminent female. It's just a physical form of cursed realm. If it had actual biological organs, that's pretty strange and nonsensical.- 4,591 replies

I noticed this a while back (trying to prove everybody the language is not Italian) but all other translations that we 'guessed' differed from Itaria's letter list. All our guesses were probably wrong anyway. Also TICDP fits in with man in corn suit in Romanian as well. Also, sad to hear the remote guy is not real, it sounded interesting. But I think a device costume guy (phone, smartphone, tv remote...) is likely to appear in future series.- 1,421 replies
