  1. I hate to bring it up again, but is there a thread or something to discuss the flavor of Elves and the webisodes?
  2. So awesome! I agree with Aanchir, definitely the best of the three we have so far. I would love the peacocks that are in Aira's workshop. The "revelation" about Azari is a bit heartbreaking for a kids' series, I'm surprised (and impressed) that they are handling such deep topics like that. But then again, the first episode dealt with death, loss, and grief, so I guess the mature-ish themes are here to stay for Elves. I just hope we get some conflict via villains.
  3. So cute! I bet they'll pair Johnny up with Azari, though. :( It's strange to me that they chose Aira for Farran since from an objective standpoint, he did seem to have the most chemistry with Azari in the 30 minute special. I do hope we get several new characters (including some more males... I want a male water elf!) if the series continues, which it seems like it will.
  4. While I'm excited to see more webisodes, it's disappointing to me that it involves the characters "crushing" on each other. I much prefer the five of them being platonic friends, but apparently they're desperate to hook Farran up with one of the ladies. I don't mind romance being incorporated into the series, but I wish it wasn't between the five friends (and if I'm honest, I always got a gay vibe from Farran).
  5. I'm personally hoping for a female villain (maybe Madame Hydra or some of the Serpent Society girls if they're in the film somewhere). I think Nebula is the only female villain so far for Marvel?
  6. Cheetah gets shafted again.
  7. Ugh, disappointing that we still don't have a Cheetah. Wonder Woman needs some villains in Lego form.
  8. I was going through a big Little Mermaid kick, but I could not find the Ariel's Amazing Treasures set anywhere (and couldn't afford the Undersea Palace sadly). I was able to find it at Books-a-Million though, so anyone looking for older sets (Merida is another one I rarely see in stores now) should check them out even though they're a tad pricier. I'm still waiting for a Snow White set, though... she and Belle are desperately in need of them. And I'm still holding out hope that we'll one day see some villains. Ursula is my most-wanted by far, but I would be happy with the Evil Queen, Maleficent, or the stepsisters and Tremaine. Maybe even a Cruella?
  9. It's very cool that Skyra is confirmed as the Air Sister. I wonder if we'll see Earth, Fire, or Water members of the Five Sisters. It'd be cool if one of them ended up being evil, though I guess one could argue that was the plot of Skyra, who was kind of shady morally until Emily came around.
  10. I think there's still a chance that they'll be minifigs. The majority of the characters are wearing pants... do they even have female pants sculpts in the minidoll form?
  11. I agree that they should be minifigs, but where is your evidence that women don't like action? As it stands, it just seems like another male saying what females like.
  12. Children didn't know Elsa or Anna before Frozen came out, either. Don't forget, this isn't just a LEGO thing. They want to make this into a full franchise.
  13. How many sets are there that feature more than one female character? How many are there that feature more than one male character? I agree that anyone is allowed to enjoy it, but superhero merchandise in general is very heavily targeted towards males (look at Avengers 2 merchandise... Black Widow is scarcely seen despite being one of the main six). I applaud DC for attempting to build a larger female audience. http://www.comicbookresources.com/article/dc-entertainment-and-warner-bros-launch-dc-super-hero-girls-initiativ
  14. Apparently in 2016, LEGO will be making DC sets targeted towards girls based on the "DC Super Hero Girls" line. How much you wanna bet they'll use minidolls instead of minifigs, though?
  15. OMG, yay! This makes me so happy. I had watched it when it aired on TV, but now I can force my bf to watch with me. :) Thanks for sharing the link.
  16. Patty and Selma are probably the only two I'll end up getting. :(
  17. Wowww, the playmat looks way better than I thought it would! I need to buy it soon.
  18. Yup, it's the same one. :) The show just aired here... I'm so impressed with it. I thought it would be just to sell the toys, but the special had a lot of heart and creativity in it (which is rare, especially for a product aimed towards girls). I was surprised they dealt with death, as well. The main characters all had interesting personalities without relying too heavily on the tropes you'd expect them to (Farran and Azari were my faves). I hope we get more animated specials from this series. Also, since mermaids exist in Elvendale, I hope we see some in future sets.
  19. I got my order from the LEGO shop today, and it included a cute little booklet which had the map on it (love that they've named so many parts of the world) and had a two-page comic summarizing the overall plot of the series. The end of the comic is pretty ominous. "But someone has been watching them. Their challenges are far from over..." I'm *really* hoping this is the antagonist we've all been hoping for. The map also explained that Sky Castle is "Where the Sky Queen Skyra guards the portal to the human world..."
  20. I know, I think it's so great that they gave us the option to have the hat or the hair. My only qualm about the hat that is when you put it on "Johnny Baker," he doesn't look like an elf.
  21. I have Naida's Spa Secret and Azari and the Magical Bakery so far. They're both super adorable. I wish the spa connected somehow, but I love the waterfall effect, and Delphia is too cute. But the bakery is much better in my opinion... it's crazy that they would have lava in this theme, especially as part of the bakery. I'm a big fan of sets with double sides like this one. My only qualm is that the baker's name is "Johnny Baker," while all the other characters have such fantastical names. Also, he doesn't have any tattoos like the others, though I'm pretty sure he's meant to be a fire elf. I'll probably get Farran and the Crystal Hollow next.
  22. Very neat... I order my stuff on Amazon typically, but I'll probably get the cheapest one (Aira's something) on the Lego site... that would get the polybag, right?
  23. Superman Villains: Desaad Granny Goodness Kalibak Lashina Stompa Mad Harriet Bernadeth Batman Villains: Clayface Killer Moth Catman Wonder Woman Villains: Cheetah Giganta Ares Circe Silver Swan Doctor Psycho Queen Clea Doctor Poison Blue Snowman Doctor Cyber Flash Villains: Golden Glider Pied Piper Heat Wave Mirror Master Weather Wizard Green Lantern Villains: Star Sapphire Evil Star Aquaman Villains: Ocean Master Siren King Shark Human Flying Fish
  24. At least put a generic elf (like a guard or something for Skyra) in there, like they did for the bakery. I really, really hope we get more characters, especially antagonists. The series won't do well if they aren't willing to commit to the fantasy of it, instead of just leaving it as "Friends with pointy ears." Girls like good guys vs. bad guys, too.
