  1. As others have already said, for starting in trains at this time you're probably better off going with the non-powered, Power Functions rail, basically for cost reasons and availability. There are third party metal rails coming, but my understanding is they are still a small while off, and depends if you want to go that direction. I have seen some members that keep their 9v systems running really well but is hard to maintain a system that isn't supported anymore (opinion). A big part of 9v motors also appear to be hitting their wear life and people are scratching for maintenance solutions. Ultimately depends what you're willing to chase.
  2. The air is probably not leaking out of the connections at all, but around the o-ring inside the cylinder. Other than lots of grease there's probably not too much you can do, especially with air being such an unforgivable medium to contain under pressure.
  3. Very hard voting, my first culling cycle ended me with still almost half the entries! 28: 10 16: 6 15: 4 1 : 3 5 : 2 33: 1 Well done everyone.
  4. Just spent an evening reading through the whole thread and this crane is fantastic! Now to read back and collect all the instructions. Very will done gentlemen.
  5. Always had lego as a kid but split among many other toys and interest. After a few years of different things (not sure I'd call an official dark age) I saw the technic line on Lego's official website after stumbling there out of pure random time consumption. Shortly after I found 8292 in a local store on sale after never seeing a technic set before, and I had to have it, and through much luck had the "pocket money" to do so. Then it was game on. And since then, the last year especially (after getting my first full time job), I have spent thousands catching up on all I missed, and have many more thousand to go, but I don't intend to leave again willingly if my situation permits me to keep my passion.
  6. Thanks for clarifying the colour CDM, not too fussed about accuracy, was more so looking for something that would be different. I had thought about blue and red, it will be behind the Maersk so ideally it would be Maersk blue, but apprentice wages won't cover that. I'll do some more research on what prices will be like. Thanks for the help.
  7. Hi everyone, long time lurker, first time poster. Collected lego for years but new to trains and I am completely hooked. I have tried my hand at replicating kyphur's intermodal carriages (seen here http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=73681) in MLcad and think I'm happy with what I came up with. I am beginning to look though bricklink and start ordering some parts. My question now is what would you guys recomend for the colour schemes? I like the yellow but was leaning more towards an orange or green. I think I'm set on orange but I'm struggling with all the different oranges, there are so many! I would like the current Arctic Explorer Orange, what would its particular name be? Other colour suggestions welcome.
