  1. I really don't think Lego will have a problem with Suicide Squad sets either; like you said they find a way around the less than child friendly part. I really think it will come down to whether or not Lego and DC want to promote the movie with movie based sets or comic based ones.
  2. I guess who we will get will depend on how many sets we get and how closely they follow the movies. (I'd say if we do get movie sets, the characters we'll get in order of most likely to least likely are Deadshot, Harley Quinn, The big bad whoever he is, Captain Boomerang, Deathstroke, Amanda Waller, Rick Flagg, Enchantress, Joker, Hugo Strange, and then anyone else). That's true. As long as they don't show anything too mind blowing (you know what I'm talking about) on screen they should be able to get a PG-13 rating, I think.
  3. Or Batman and Joker or Harley Quinn . I thought DC was going for a PG-13 rating with Suicide Squad.
  4. But Joker is in the movie and he does seem to appear in sets a lot, so I wouldn't be surprised if he was in any Squad sets. Deadshot and Captain Boomerang are the two that come to my mind; probably just because Harley didn't join the squad until the new 52 so I never really considered her as a key member while those two have associated with the squad for decades. Or they could recolor the dog molds, I think that would work well enough for hyenas anyway.
  5. Oh man, now I wish Bud and Lou came in the Jokerland. By villains, I assume you mean just Joker and Harley. I heard somewhere, not sure how true it is, that DC would dropping the word Suicide from the label for toys tying into Suicide Squad. As long as those two are Deadshot, Amanda Waller, and Captain Boomerang (yes, I know that's three) and not Joker and Harley (again ) I'm happy.
  6. I'd rather have 100% comic sets (without New 52 influence for at least the majority of the figures) than Flash and Arrow sets, but I would be more than happy with them Maybe Mercy Graves (she's rumored anyway), Alfred, or any of the other 6+ rumored villains. But yeah, we'll probably just get the same few characters we've already had (although we really haven't had that much Lex). At least if we end up getting Suicide Squad sets, we'll be getting some new characters, even if they don't look quite like the comic books. (Captain Boomerang is rumored to look nothing like the comics, though that rumor did make it sound like he would just look nothing like this version: http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100106015640/marvel_dc/images/4/4d/Captain_Boomerang_0001.jpg .)
  7. Yeah, the movies don't capture the comics well at all. DC's television and animated properties more than make up for it though, IMO.
  8. . This is a DC thread, you're not allowed to like Marvel here. I'm only joking, of course.
  9. If the movie gets made, I guess we'd get at least one set with the Metal Men. Of course, they are working on about 10 other DC film series at the moment, so it could be a while.
  10. I'd say the best chance was an exclusive of some sort, except the Metal Men would all require new headgear, so It wouldn't happen (on the bright side, no SDCC exclusives of them). They aren't really mainstream enough for set appearances either, so unless they suddenly become relevant and popular with a lot of people, their chances are slim to none. Maybe the theme should be renamed "Batman: The Clone Wars".
  11. Platinum did make it into Lego Batman 3, but I think that's about all the Metal Men we'll be seeing. Unless Batman becomes a Metal Man .
  12. Makes sense, except the part about you liking the new 52 costume (I know, I know, your opinion). Completely off topic, Different Strokes sounds like it could be a much cooler name for Crazy Quilt. I didn't think classic Cold had hair (though the parka makes it hard to tell). I still miss the parka.
  13. *skips the tomatoes and pebbles and sends you to Apokolips via boom tube instead* *sends you to apokolips too*
  14. I still don't understand how a sleeveless hoodie is less goofy than a parka, to me it just looks dorky in a bad way (the classic was dorky in a good way). Wait, I said it was a matter of opinion? I really don't remember that (it just doesn't sound like me to me). Yeah, it doesn't make too much sense (comic book logic I guess). Thawne is great, but then so are most mainstream Flash foes. It doesn't look that way to me... Maybe if I increase the brightness on my screen?
  15. I still like the classic costume better (not a fan of the black) but it's definitely a huge improvement over the New 52. I'd be more than happy if we got this one (it's not like it would be too difficult to make into a classic one if I wanted to anyway). Of course, it looks just like the one from the TV show, so that's a HUGE plus in my book (even if it doesn't quite top the classic).
  16. Nice, I ended up doing that with two of my Batmen too.
  17. Ah, I thought you meant the characters themselves. That is the one plus side I found.
  18. If by cool, you mean "looks like a 4 year old scribbled on a piece of paper with a red and black crayon" then sure he looks cool. I know, I know, it's just my opinion. I'll be quiet now (for about 2-3 seconds, so enjoy it while it lasts ). Yeah, that Joker is way too gory for Lego form; no way we're getting it. Really hoping these convergence designs will be good too, but so far I doubt it (though IMO Reverse Flash is a huge improvement over the child-scribble new 52 one).
  19. Oh, a book about all the SDCC exclusive figures we can't get; sounds fantastic. I don't why Trickster couldn't come with it, though I would have thought we'd see him in something more DC related (then again, most of the figures WILL be Super Heroes in that book, it seems). There are so many worse new 52 designs (especially the Rogues, Reverse Flash, Starfire, and Raven - all of which happen to be some of my favorite characters), even as horrible as this one is.
  20. I really like Captain Cold and the Rogues; Batman is sort of insane so his villains are mostly insane, Superman is very powerful and symbolizes freedom in a way so his villains are mostly powerful (politically, socially, and physically) and symbolize tyranny, it just makes for Flash who is witty and light hearted to have mostly witty and light hearted villians. (I mean, it would get pretty boring if all Batman's villains were insane, Superman's were all super powerful tyrants, and Flash's were all light hearted joke-crackers, but having most of them that way works out very well). Plus, just being a gang of self-proclaimed professional blue collar thieves who have a no kill policy, are loyal and trust each other, and aren't insane or power hungry but are in it for money for the most part makes them stand out amongst the other villains in comic books (and their non-new 52 costumes help with that last part).
  21. I know, I know, I just can't understand how anyone can like what New 52 did to the Rogue. To me, it's like giving Batman a gun (I'm looking at you convergence suit), it's just not him for most people; same with the Rogues, the New 52 just isn't them for me. From what I've seen so far, I'd rank the suits like this: Classic > New 52 minus Rogues and Reverse Flash > Convergence minus Batman > New 52 Reverse Flash and Rogues minus Captain Cold > Convergence Batman > New 52 Captain Cold. I guess I'll just have to wait and see how they completely ruin the Rogues (again) during this convergence thing. Honestly, I'm LOVING the convergence Reverse Flash which was one of worst New 52 designs IMO so maybe there's hope? Too bad the moderators don't have the power to delete those designs from our minds. (I can already think of several designs I'd like gone that aren't convergence).
  22. NO THEY ARE NOT!!!! FOR THE MOST PART, THEY LOOK AWFUL, SOME OF THEM (CAPTAIN COLD, TRICKSTER, GOLDEN GLIDER, AND HEATWAVE) LOOK WAY DORKIER THAN THE ORIGINAL ONES AND MOST OF THE OTHERS (CAPTAIN BOOMERANG, WEATHER WIZARD) ARE COMPLETELY BLAND AND UNINTERESTING, AND ALL OF THEM LOOK LITTLE TO NOTHING LIKE THE ORIGINAL CONCEPTS. OTHER THAN THAT, THERE WERE JUST POINTLESS CHANGES THAT DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO MAKE THEM LOOK ANY BETTER THAN THEY ALREADY DID (MIRROR MASTER AND PIED PIPER). PLUS THE SUPER POWERS WAS A HUGE MISTAKE - IT TOOK AWAY PART OF WHAT MADE THE ROGUES SPECIAL (A GANG OF NON POWERED THIEVES WIH SUPER WEAPONS FIGHTING A SUPER POWERED HERO). I KNOW CAPTAIN COLD EVENTUALLY LOST HIS POWERS AND PIED PIPER AND TRICKSTER NEVER GOT ANY, BUT I STILL HATE THAT THEY DID THAT. All just my opinion.
  23. BBBBBOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! To that first part. I'd go with a close second best for both of those, after Batman (I'm a Batfan), but we've had plenty of Bats and his enemies (or at least the few we will ultimately be getting) so it's time to move onto the Flash IMO.
  24. Oh man, YES!!! I would take comic based Flash sets over those any day, ever. The Flash is doing phenomenal on television (9.9/10 rating on imbd for that last episode); I would love if DC notices and shows a bit more confidence with the character by giving him his own sets, even if it were only 1 or 2 (as long as we get Reverse Flash, Heatwave, Mirror Master, Weather Wizard, Captain Boomerang, and Pied Piper, I'm happy). I think the DCCCU is a better name quite frankly, or better yet the DCCCCCC (DC Comics Crazy Cool Cinematic Collection) .
  25. Probably the next time we get comic based Batman sets, unless she gets confirmed for the movieverse (the DCCCU - DC Comics Cinematic Universe?).
