Heroica RPG - Quest #134: The Sky Is Falling
Asphalt replied to Endgame's topic in The Heroica Archive
OOC: ok so on a 1,5,or 6 (shield, damage, or spec damage) for witches it is a one shot with dual strike. on a 2, 3, 4, (crit hit, hit, or poison) it does either damage twice to one target or once to two consecutive targets. Do I have it right now? Sorry for all the confusion. Vindsval marvels at his newfound powers. Not only was he able to take a fistful of gold from one of the cultists, but when they looked into his green rimmed eyes some of them lost focus and turned on their own. The Wanderer truly leads me upon a strange journey. What other powers does this new profession possess? I am eager to find out. Vindsval Drinks a Mead from the Back Row. Careful not to distract his entranced enemies vindsval targets the next cultist in line and Attacks Deftera with the Twin Sai from the Back Row Second STrike Attacks Deftera with the Twin Sai from the Back Row. -

OOC: In the initial battle post. But even without it, shouldn't dual strike have given him a second attack? So with the Salt he would get Consume Salts and Two strikes? -

Aristune Translates what Keliim says to the Beetles. You put too much stock in the intelligence of these beasts. These Insects have no concept of self. They are born to serve their queen. This makes no sense. Aristune Attacks the Domesticated Bore Beetle, with his fist, from the back row. -

As Keliim approaches the beasts the nearest one lashes out at him, nearly taking off his extended hand. Animal speak is one of my many talents, but I would not suggest offering my hand as food to these. It did not sound . . . right, somehow. -

Before his soul is offered to the Wanderer for judgment you shall hear him say many things I am certain. Vindsval draws his Tin sai, and points at the fallen druid and his cult. Ogo, Oro, Poe, these men you see before us would continue to defile the land and let this ancient wrym lay waste to your homes. What do you have to say about that? Would you continue to starve, or feast upon these who would see you die the death of cowards? -

I believe his intentions are clear Slyph. This fallen druid intends to sacrifice the maiden to the supposed dragon in the castle. By the Wanderer, drunken tavern minstrels can spin a more complex plot than this villain. All it is lacking f for Warlen to Scream, HAVE AT THE VARLOT!!! and the tableau would be complete. Let us end this farce. He has proven to be the villain of this tale, and he stands within our path. Let us remove him from it. Vindsval's eye begin to darken and a green ring shows on their edges. He is beginning to lose his temper with this one. -

Ohh It burns, it burns so much. Round One Keliim Attacks Domesticated Bore Beetle Fury: all enemies take 7 (13/2) Damage Aristune Attacks Spider A: Hit, Spider A takes 3 (6/2) damage Calamity Attacks (4):Miss Muradin Attacks Spider C: Fury all enemies take damage 7 Damage, Spider A KO. Terry Attacks Domesticated Bore Beetle:Critical hit, 5 (3X2+4)/2 Damage. Rethinal Attacks Wild Bore Beetle A:Damage, Rethinal takes 6 Damage Free hits WBB B VS Keliim 6/2 -4 = zero damage. Even though they left one beetle un-targeted the newly reinforced cadre leaves no enemy undamaged. With all three beetles taking heavy damage and the two remaining spiders nearly dead the party propels themselves whole heartedly into battle. All except Rethinal, who is near death from tangling with his bore beetle. A cult, a young woman, and a great honor. By the realms, this Savato is certainly a cliche. He could be straight from a fairy tale the townspeople tell their younglings. Vindsval glances at the party. Shall we play along and show him the end of his story? -

Unsure whether the dwarf is serious or not. Books, you may have seen them in the hall. Full of thin sheets of paper with writing on them. They often contain histories, or the thoughts of the writer. Do they not have such things where you are from? -

Note: Yes, Aristune will take his cue from your commands to the group. Since you put emphasis on spiders, that is where he will focus first. As you command Keliim. Though many of us may fall, we will be victorious, for that is the will of the Sands. Aristune Throws a Fist at Spider A from the Back Row. -

What? You have battled the Carrion Beetles? Something truly is wrong here. Those are the most docile of creatures. They were bread to clean the waste left by battle. As you might imagine a training field such as The Parlor, has much that needs to be cleaned. If they have become violent, something must have control over them. But now is not the time for discussion of past battles. Keliim seems to be your Cadre Leader, he wishes to flee what say the rest of you? -

The Death Worshipper has Spirit. The Bore Beetles are massive. They are what the dwarves and the Locustoids used to carve these caverns. Beware their bite. Those maws have enough flame in them to turn the dunes to glass. -

Vindval places his hand on the head of each wolf in turn. Ogo, Oro, The memory of the wild is long, and the line of Dire Wolves glorious. Did your father tell you any legends of a great beast in the mountains? He turns an eye to his friend Poe. Poe, Don't get too close to Warlen. The fumes from his drink may strip the color from your feathers. -
ok we fight the creature forcing the elder dragon to do its bidding through some unknown elaborate means, and then befriend the creature to found the library of true history.
-
Well that would just be a waste. We should befriend him and send the scholars to his lair so they can record the true history of the land.
-
Yeah you have a full plate on both sides.
