MOD: TLG USB Minifig Senate Commando and Jango Fett
Solscud007 replied to Solscud007's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yeah it is a 2gb flashdrive. I took a further look and i think I could "upgrade" this to 16gb. I will go get a 16GB mini USB drive, they cannot have the metal shroud around the USB connector, and see if the board is the same physical size. If it is, then you could swap out the 2gb for more space. -
Might have a problem with Jedi Master Fangorn

Dont bring up airsoft guns and potential violence. It blackens the sport. Ive been playing it for over a decade and I would like to raise the sport to a higher degree of respect. Anyway hope things work out for you. -
Just saw an ad in my email from TRU here in NY. This satuday buy $30 of legos and you get a free Series 3 collectible lego figure. Sadly a lot of stores have OVER compensated and over stocked series 3. Which will slow down the stocking of series 4 and possibly series 5.

I sense too much whining and complaining. I dont see any negatives. Sure there are a lot of "shoulda coulda" wishes but this set looks great. You get minifigs as a bonus (just remind yourself they are bonus figs) and you will be happy and at peace.
-
The problem is that the shadows are too dark. It is hard to see what is happening in the back corners.
-
I posted this up in the minifig customization section but as I only care about SW Lego as my primary focus for modding or MOCing anything I thought I would share. This sort of only works well with those two figures. Blue pants are a little bit limiting in terms of color coordinating with other torsos.
-
Wow that is rather ambitious one vig per week? very nice.
-
Earlier I took my bobafett Keychain (old type) and usd my Strider Knife to split the waist/hips from the torso, it was easy to break the glue seal and not damage the pieces. I took my TLG USB minifig and did the same thing. To my surprise the original red torso is a regular lego torso. So I grabbed one of the Senate Commandos and put the torso onto the USB stick. IT WORKS!!!! Sadly the USB legs are blue so there are not too many Blue legged figures in SW besides Senate Commando, Jango Fett, and Besbin Guard. However maybe you guys could use this for something you like.

Lars, you are too awesome. You create such fantastic work and you are willing to share your ideas. Thank you. We do not deserve such awesomeness.

Here is a shot in the dark but perhaps you can lift the central city and reveal a cockpit or possible meeting area? I mean why have minifigs with out any way of interacting with the UCS set?
-
But I dont really have a funny story to go with it.

I forgot I took these pics at San Diego Comic Con back in 2005. Does anyone know what happens to models like these? I wonder if they have something like this at SW Lego Land exhibit?
-
Did you get my PM? Im interested in buying the Dewback.
-
Ahh I was wondering what you were referring to. You are talking about Smokebelch's pictures. Yeah they are great. I need a dewback and a sandy beach to try and mimic that shot.

I actually like the TLG Snowspeeders. They go great with the play fun factor of my two AT-ATs. But they dont compare to Lar's masterpiece here.
-
Interesting. Do you have a gallery posted somewhere? I find looking at parts on your store not as appealing. I would like a Terracotta soldier in lego.

Yeah I had a trade with a guy. Batman Cowl for lego mini Tie fighter. I mistakenly gave him the wrong number for my address (I had just got a new apt and gave him the new address wrong) My fault. Sadly I never got it. But i was only out a small cowl part. You always take a risk. -
Im kicking myself for turning down a UCS ISD. I would have liked it more than the DS. but oh well. Im happy to have my System ISD and I will get this SSD.

Yes thank you so much Lars. I just saw your Lego Power Loader. I saw it on google images. But didnt realize it was yours til I saw your instructions of the T-47 on your Flickr haha. Thanks so much!!!!

I feel dumb but were the bounty hunters even on the Executor? I thought they convened on a standard Imperial class Star Destroyer when Vader was having his meeting and the famous "No disintegration" line. TLG wouldnt invest a lot of money on a new mold especially for two figures. 4Lom could use a black or dark metallic gray(almost black) body with orange Protocol droid printing. Zuckuss would require new printing setup. All of those are expensive. At least they went to the trouble to redo dengar. I must get this set just for Dengar. I think Lego is really trying something new. I mean it started with The Imperial Shuttle UCS. They threw in ROTJ Luke and unless you have one already or the Death Star playset, that is your only chance of getting it officially. Now they dangle a new version of Dengar and a recolored IG-88. It always bugged me that IG-88 in the second Slave 1 was silver. I bought the Assassin Droid Battle Pack just so I could get an IG-88 droid.

Please forgive the slightly off topic pic. However I did use my Death Star playset for this picture so it could be considered Starwars related. "Get away from her you b!tch" (I will need to make one in lego eventually but I wanted to see how close I could get to recreating the lighting. I just need some dust or particulate to interfere with the back lighting. To make up for the Off topic picture here is Vader returning from a successful practice flight in his chibi Tie Advanced.

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
Solscud007 replied to BrickBob Studpants's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Oh ok. I thought it had something to do with the droidekas. But I never tried throwing them at Grievous. Thanks -
I was browsing thru this guy's brickshelf and found this neat Destroyer droid. A little over complicated but it can "roll up" into a ball. http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=215672

Holy crap that GP-01 looks amazing. I love Gundam 0083: Stardust Memories. Wing is garbage compared to some of the UC series stuff. Anyway Im on board for James bond that would be very cool. However I dont know if there is a tie in. There arent really any movies that kids can enjoy and tie in the sale of sets and a video game. They kind of missed the boat with the new ones, in terms of tying the movie to sell toys. I mean I can imagine playing a Lego classic James Bond video game. Not so much killing, but having to go thru Octopussy's underwater lair and Moonraker levels and all the other moveis, It would be a great game. Plus the toys would be cool. They did make Indiana Jones for AFOLs why not James Bond? I realize going back to the movie tie in factor that Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was a great vehicle to introduce Indiana Jones to kids. Lego needs something like that for James Bond to really sell. But it cant be half measures, they have to make all out sets. Ooh they could make the little Nellie helicopter. It would be quite easy almost like a creator set. They should have the famous white lotus that transforms into a submarine, and of course something that looks like an Austin Martin. They could easily make a Moonraker shuttle or space set. Goldeneye could easily be the Golden Eye station also add a Tank for good measure. Octopussy underwater lair with scuba diving Bond!!! In line with the Asterix toys, I recognize it as being wildly popular outside of the US however it is not that big for us in the States. However a good toy possibility, at least in my mind, would be TinTin. After all there is a live action 3D CG movie in the works right now with Speilberg and Jackson partnering to make it. I have read TinTin as a kid and I would like to see that as lego sets.
