To all the people who say it is too expensive: Have you ever printed anything through Shapeways? I mean uploaded your own file and have them print it? I have. The price is about right for something of that size and material. With the fine teeth you need a good resolution. You cant get that with ABS monofilament 3D printers like a Maker Bot. 3D printing is not as cheap as you think it is. However compared to funding a mold to actually cast plastic parts, it is cheaper in the overall cost.

I did not like how LEGO designed the cape attachment on Darth Vader. One of the biggest issues is the gaping hole for the neck. So I rearranged the parts to utilize the neck hole. Now the cape drapes over the shoulders.

The C3-P0 polybag and Captain Phasma are two perfect excuses to chrome some minifigs. And yet TLG decided to not chrome them. They feel lacking in realism. -

Interesting. I like the Corvette. Can't wait for that. -
Not too bad. I removed it as it does get annoying. Also with the previous upgrades, it was hard to hear it over the noise of the motor. You should get a 48x48 gray baseplate at your local Lego store. I used MILS and beefed up the 48x48 baseplate. As you said, it is not very sturdy. I coverd almost 90% of the baseplate in brick and then used 6x12 light green plates (that I bought at my Lego Store PAB wall) to cover most of the baseplate. I left the center hollow since I did not need that portion covered. It is a LOT more sturdy now. I have the IR receiver inside the column sitting at the bottom on the baseplate. The wire runs out underneath the green plates and out the side. I need to get an extension so I can mount the battery pack to the top of the plates. Right now, the end of the IR receiver cable just runs out past the edge of the baseplate and I can plug it into the battery box.

I modified my Grand Carousel with Starwars themed elements and Micro Fighters as rides for the Carousel. It works at first but the weight over powers the tire that drives the carousel. For those not familiar with the Grand Carousel, Lego uses a wheel with a tire pressed up against the platform of the carousel to rotate the whole assembly. The tire is eating itself apart. So I decided to try and make the carousel driven directly by gears. I put a 2x2 round brick in the middle of the mesh platform so the axle can spin the entire carousel mechanism. Originally the mesh platform would just spin freely around an axle and the axle would be stationary. That entire mechanism sits ontop of the carousel column. You can see the XL motor and the 40 tooth gear. The gear is driven by the XL and a 8 tooth gear. I hooked up the XL motor to an IR receiver so I can use my remote and run the XL motor on the lowest setting. The problem is that the XL motor will surge rather than run smoothly at low speeds. Any ideas how I can fix this? Should I switch to the L motor? Will that run more smoothly at lower speeds? I want lots of torque at low speed.

I used the IR receiver and Remote from my High Speed Passenger Train and it works great for slowing it down.

Nice I had to buy the JW Lego game to get mine.

Is Millenium Falcon 7965 still the one to get?
Solscud007 replied to grevens's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I have noticed that subsequent versions of popular vehicles have gotten smaller over the years. Such as the ATAT, Republic Gunship, and ATTE. I dont have high hopes for a VII Falcon. I have both the 4504 and 7965. I like the 7965 version a lot. -
The only con is that it does not come with a 48x48 base plate and it should.

To get you drooling more, here are some pics of a local F40 I took last year at my local Cars and Coffee meet up. Definitely a show stopper. No door handles inside. Just wire cable. Why? Because Racecar. This is what is under the hood. Wheel Vacuum diagram -
I finished building the Ferris Wheel and added my GoPro to the rides for a POV.

How can I smoothen out the Ferris Wheel? I added a motor directly as Lego intended. Pehaps a slower speed with a RC/IR control? Here is a video I made of my Ferris Wheel and Grand Carousel. I put my GoPro on the rides for a POV.

Simply stunning.

Sure. Here you go.

Picked up the Winter Soldier by buying the Ferris Wheel. Here is the Official Winter Soldier next to my MOC Winter Soldier (Which was inspired by JaredChan's Winter Soldier). I used Hawkeye's head for the sunglasses and legs, ninjago mask, chrome arm from Chrome Stormtrooper. Gorgeous arm printing. Too bad they didnt use a chrome arm. Back printing. I am not a fan of the black eye mask. Kinda looks like Robin from Batman. I swapped the hands to make Winter Soldier more movie accurate. In the street shootout scene, his right hand is bare skin and his robot hand has a black glove. This would be more movie accurate as he is wearing sunglasses at the beginning of the fight on the overpass. And here is the iconic scene from the film, where Steve Rogers shields himself from Winter Soldier's punch

Lego store calendar has a early VIP set for July 15. I was told by the Store employee it will be the Ferrari F40. -
Andrew Whyte's Lego Photographer pictures inspired me to document my travels in a similar fashion. http://www.dailymail...ls-Britain.html I started back in March at Walt Disney World. Recently I went on a cruise around the British Isles. I took some minifigs with me. At the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland. I took this at Omaha Beach in Normandy, France. I used a custom printed WWII Army Ranger re-enacting the storming of the beach. Visited Stonehenge. Earliest form of brick building LOL. Windsor Castle? Nah I went to Legoland Windsor. Big Ben Brought my Sherlock minifig to 221B Baker St. Brought the Palace Guard as well.
