  1. I figure I should probably condense all my creations into one thread. If the moderators can join my previous posts into here that would be great. Here are my latest creations today. 2. I already have the system set. But I want a UCS in scale with minifigs.
  3. Nathan, the $500 price tag is reflective of US Lego market. Lego is always more expensive in the UK and Europe than here in the states. If they did remake the UCS MF it would sell at $500 in the U.S. Maybe $550 but that would be pushing the limits. Unless they make limited run at a higher cost but I haven't seen Lego do that.
  4. So rumor mill has begun to spin about a possible new UCS MF. In the past two weeks I have been sorting my collection and setting aside pieces to build my own UCS MF. I have over 1,000 pcs already sorted and set aside. Should I continue and bricklink the rest or wait for the rumor to be true? I am extremely impatient. Even if I bricklink this one, I will probably buy the new one anyway.
  5. I have to disagree. Lego has been pushing the envelope with more and more expensive sets. Ghostbusters HQ and Helicarrier are the two most expensive sets out right now. UCS SSD did sell at like $400 USD. But it didnt last long. Remaking a UCS MF could do well. They are banking on a lot of factors. It is 8 years after the UCS MF was released back in 2007. Not much was going on in 2007. That was 2 years after the release of Episode 3. Lego should strike while the fire is going. You have all the adult collectors who missed out on a UCS MF. I think many if not all of us would jump to pay $500 USD for a UCS MF right now. Hindsight 20/20. Now that we have Episode 7 out and a few more movies to come, including a possible Young Han Solo movie which might have some MF goodness in it, there will be a lot of attention given toward the Millennium Falcon. Going back to 2007 many of the kids who grew up watching the prequels are now 8 years older. They are in their late teens if not early 20s. Many of them grew up on Star Wars and have disposable income. So now you have an even larger pool of people who can afford to buy a UCS MF. I hope it comes out. In the past two weeks I have been going through my collection of pieces and harvesting parts for my own UCS MF build. I am over 1,000 pcs set aside. I am debating whether now to wait or keep going and Bricklink the rest? Tough as I am impatient LOL
  6. Buying from Bricklink is like any other type of merchant transaction. Make sure you pick a seller with a high reputation and good standing. I concur, it would be cheaper to buy the set used. I don't know how the used Lego scene looks like in Switzerland but I see these sets occasionally on craigslist here in the US. Also I have two of them myself as well as the newer version. The best IMHO is the CW Dropship.
  7. Wow I have this set and never noticed the shortness until I saw your comparison shots. Nicely done!
  8. I don't have Kylo Ren : ( I will wait for the cheaper set. Kyla's shuttle is over priced and I don't like that I would need to modify it just to make it how it should have been.
  9. Someone asked me to do Darth Vader. I tried making his Tie Advanced but didnt like the techniques I was using to get the angled wings/panels. So I took an easier path and made a Star Destroyer costume for Vader. Vader Costume Star Destroyer by solscud, on Flickr The Star Destroyer will fit with either Vader helmets. 10. And math still works for all scales. All he has to do is measure a poly bag vehicle and compare it to the official size of the 1:1 scale vehicle. Then measure another vehicle and compare the ratios.
  11. Do math. You can measure the size of the ships and look up the full scale on Wookiepedia. I did it with my UCS X Wing to check if R2 was the right size. He looks too small but the height is the right size to the X Wing.
  12. I am curious how much information TLG got when designing the sets. Specifically Kylo Ren's shuttle. To not have the wings tilt seems like a HUGE oversight. It isnt just a small matter of inaccuracy due to the medium, but the wings opening are a huge aspect of the design.
  13. What is the red banner from? Did it bother anyone else seeing real world chest rigs on Stormtroopers? Just like the stock on Captain Phasma's rifle is a AR15 stock by ATI.
  14. The creative juices are flowing. This one was a bit challenging to squeeze everything in. 15. WOW Very cool!!
  16. I made Poe an X-Wing costume as well. I was surprised how well BB8's head fits on the back. Force Awakens Poe XWing costume. by solscud, on Flickr Here he is with my Force Awakens Tie Fighter. 18. After buying Vesa Lehtimaki's book, I was inspired to try out some of his compositions. I need a bit more light to illuminate the pilot.
  19. Forgive me if this is old. I am just starting to get my feet wet with all the UCS mods and BL strategies. I saw this alternate engine build. But even the round vents on top are different.
  20. Added new photos
  21. I am taking the plunge and going to start planning my UCS MF. It is that time again for Lug Bulk. I missed it this year. So I plan to take advantage of it now. I will also pool my element inventory of used pieces and set them aside for the MF. Third I will have a list of pieces and check what my LUG support has for redemption. I know I have some elements like the large dish in plain LBG. Seeing Dagsbricks and other articles I am comfortable forgoing the rigging piece and substituting for used elements as well as what ever color is cheaper for internal parts. I am also comfortable using Light Gray mixed with LBG to give the MF more flavor and break up the monotony. Make it feel more authentic that it was cobbled together with various piece as per the MF lore. I was thinking of using LBG light saber bars clipped onto modified plate with vertical clip, but this ladder look is pretty good too.
  22. Back in 2011, i submitted my "Luke's Personal X-Wing" for a contest. http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=54565 Well I finally revisited the idea and made a Tie Fighter costume for my Tie Fighter pilot. Edit: Took some new pics and made a First Order version. I came up with a better attachment method with the First Order version and used it on my normal Tie Fighter costume. Here is the Tie Fighter with my UCS stand.
  23. It doesnt work for me. When I do that for Chell or Marty, the instruction tile is flipped over backwards. It worked just fine with Cyborg and Batman but not marty. It keeps saying I need to play through Back to the Future Level. I dont know what they are talking about. I played the old west stage in the story level and went to the BTTF level portal. I still cant unlock the instruction for the mini delorean.
  24. Ok I got Lego Dimensions yesterday at TRU. They have a special right now in the US. If you buy the starter pack, you get a $10 gift card. If you spend $35 in level/bonus packs you get another $10 gift card. I bought the starter pack, Portal 2 and BTTF. I also got the TRU Bricktober Micro Hotel for free. The manager said they had a discussion and Lego Dimensions should qualify as "Lego Construction". I even told them, "I understand that technically this is a video game, but it does have physical lego bricks so it should qualify as a Lego Construction set" Has anyone tried the level packs? I can access BTTF and Portal 2. But for the life of me, I cannot find the building instructions for the mini builds like the mini delorean. The one issue I have is that the instructions for the accessory packs are useless. They only show you how to build the figure. You have to unlock the building instructions somehow in the game. It is annoying me to no end. Here is my EclipseGrafx Chell compared to the Lego Dimensions Chell
