  1. speaking of the McLaren, this teaser shot makes it look amazing. I love the Diffuser they included. Speed Champions by Brickset, on Flickr
  2. I think I can answer the first one. the tires look like the same ones used for the endurance racecar from last years city sets, that one used the older mud guards, so I think its safe to say these new rims/tires will work just fine. and for the last one (now number 2 in the edited quote) I'm all over it, can't wait to get my hands on this, the McLaren and all the rest (seriously I think I'm going to end up getting this entire wave of sets)
  3. the big question on weather or not you want to add stickers to your sets (any sets) is if you intend to to take them apart later and us the pieces for MOCs. for me 90% of the time i do NOT use stickers as i will likely want to use parts somewhere else. BUT i have never taken apart a UCS set once completed (I do sometimes modify to fix little annoyances) even then though i weight the impact of the sticker on the final model to decide if it gets them or not. I've partially sticker-ed Slave I, but i used all the stickers on my SSD. you just need to look at what you want out of the set long term.
  4. Thanks so much for these! again very jealous that you were able to find a set so early, car looks better than I thought It would. I'm also very glad to see that the extra hubcaps were intentional (as evident in the inventory page) Can't wait to get my hands on these sets, even more so now.
  5. not only are there hubcaps, they're 2 different versions here, first looks like the Ferrari 5point, and second is12points possibly the ones from the 918. and yes please, more pictures, build in progress would be nice to see too.
  6. You Sir, are now my Enemy! until i can get my hands on these myself that is but that makes it official, its time to start watching stores, these are headed to shelves sooner rather than Later!
  7. top 5 cars I'd like to see in UCS form: 1965 Ford GT40, 1966 Lamborghini Miura, McLaren F1-GTR, Ferrari 330 P4, and the Porsche 917K (amazingly all of the cars listed have made their way to Private owners, and onto public roads. this includes 1 of the 4 Ferrari P4's) I have been checking this thread daily, the lack of news however is what is keeping things so quiet here. At this point I am waiting on a release date, and planning which sets I’ll want first.
  8. the only time I've had an issue with a set was with Fire Brigade, I received a Ninjago bag of parts (from the green snake motorcycle) instead of one of the bags for the Fire Brigade. after a couple of calls to Lego about it they identified the missing bag I needed, I had my parts 5 days later. I later learned that Fire Brigade had a lot of issues in its time, an entire run of the sets had a missing bag. I'm the only one I've heard of having a wrong set bag (lucky me I guess)
  9. Seems they are aware of the quality of the print, but I've not heard if they are aware of the typo yet (or at least there is no acknowledgement of it yet)
  10. ah yes the glorious stoned Yoda, best version for sure.
  11. ok, mod pictures as promised! First i made this little assembly, the 2x4 slope is from your existing ramp, the 1x10 plate runs under it to add support for the ball joints later. cross brace by kayjeb, on Flickr (slightly out of focus) the cross brace assembly is placed in the ship using the 2x4 slope to position it brace installed by kayjeb, on Flickr The left side plate and a small stack up plates to mount the Mixel Ball Joints (leave the joints connected it will save a headache later) side plate and assemebly by kayjeb, on Flickr ball joints added to side plate (mirror this process for the Right side) side plate asembled by kayjeb, on Flickr connect the ball joint plate to the base on the raised section from the cross brace, and then reconnect the top Black tecnic hing. mounted left side by kayjeb, on Flickr and as you can see it aligns its self right back in place, go ahead and rebuild the left side to finish the mod, and repeat for the right side. after mod alignment by kayjeb, on Flickr simple little mod but no longer do i have annoying rattling side panels *Edited for typos*
  12. sure, i'll try and have some pics posted tonight for ya.
  13. probably because Leia's Real home planet is Naboo....
  14. Mixel joints are small ball joints, and yes they worked great for me. i attached the bottom of the side near the Green wing cowls and the side plates no longer wobble around. i also opened it up to close off any gaps that i could see through canopy. (though this does make getting small parts that i knocked into the ship much harder to get out (a minor and rare occurrence)mixel parts i used:
  15. yep i realize it too, and unfortunately it plays in to my collecting habits. see i like to have every version of a character i can get, barring the crazy rare Solid Gold/Silver/Bronze figures. so if i get Sabine, I'll have to get one for her hair and one for her helm. and the New Vader is a guarantied buy (but probably brick-linking them both)
  16. Mr. Smith, your walker is quite interesting seems to have a serious amount of armor for such a small unit. there are a lot of gaps though, and that kind of goes against the protective appearance you undoubtedly were going for. That said, SoNE is not just building models, its telling a story. This build itself is of sound quality, but what does it have to do with the Story of SoNE? Why are you in the “AT-PT”? (which by the way is an Imperial unit and quite a bit different than the one you are in) Where are you going in that walker? How did the Rebels get a walker in the first place? Many builders utilize dialog between other nameless troopers/rebels, or during co-operative builds with other members of SoNE. As I said your builds are good, but SoNE is more than just building with Lego.
  17. idk, I got the impression that this was rather sizeable at and that little windshield from the mystery machine is no bigger than the original Shuttle windshield. I'm expecting at least an 8wide, probably a 10 wide. (the UCS Shuttle used a 12wide) EDIT: after looking closer the Mystery Machine wind shield is an 8 at bottom and 6 at top, I still think its to small for the Lambda but the proportions are favorable...
  18. Check out Brickfair Virginia, there is always an impressive GBC there (first week of August) im not sure if its the biggest but its at one of the biggest shows of the year.
  19. being weird? no, everyone has their own idea of what Lego sets should look like, some like them to be just blocky enough to be recognizably Lego. then there are others that like things to look so perfect you can hardly tell the difference at a glance. Many MOCers strive for the latter, and I get the feeling Lego is working towards that more and more in high end sets.
  20. plenty out there, several shops near or over 100 in stock. http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID=919&colorID=5
  21. yes, eventually, the real question is "will we see pics in the next few days?" (im betting no)
  22. the interior is mostly technic structure, the "Cargo bay" is an area behind the door that the carbonite block fits in while its connected to the door. the cockpit is fairly detailed, but due to the rotating feature there is a large amount of space around it to see further in. and what you can see is just internal structure and not really interesting. also at certain angles you can see clear through the back (where they left a trap door to get loos pieces out should any fall into the interior). The Brickset review has assembly pictures that will help you get an idea of what I'm talking about. http://brickset.com/article/13331/review-75060-slave-1
  23. speaking of stand mods, I added a small platform just in front of the plaque to stand the Stormtrooper and Cloud city guard on (Boba is of course flying the ship, while Han hides in the cargo hold)
  24. on average RRP is £12.99 / $14.99 / €14.99, which is much better than the 20-25 number you are estimating. so my estimation is something like this: LaFerrari, McLaren P1, Porsche 918 Spyder, 458 Italia GT2: £12.99/ $14.99 / €14.99 each 75911 McLaren-Mercedes Pit Stop £29.99 / $34.99 / €34.99 75912 Porsche 911 GT Finishing Line £39.99 / $49.99 / €49.99 75913 F14T and Scuderia Ferrari Truck £79.99 / $89.99 / €89.99 AGAIN THE ABOVE PRICES ARE ESTIMATIONS, based on prices listed by Argos.
  25. An idea I just thought up is, base class types: Soldier, Spy, pilot. You pick one at start (or if implemented upon reorganizing the players) then a faction. As you level up you can pick new jobs/roles in that faction. So a player would start similarly as we are already Soldier-Imperial (aka storm trooper) as the levels go up you'd be presented new "Specializations" so continuing the Soldier line, the next change could be Heavy weapons, proto weapons, or improvised weapons. Later vehicles (tanks, transports, and other ground units) and at the very top of the choices you get to pick between Freelance, Black OPs, and Experimental. Freelancers still support original faction, so bounty hunters are not available to rebels, and smugglers are not available to Imperials (SWTOR, I feel got that right in a 2 faction system) So the example tree would look like: Soldier, Spy, Pilot Soldier (Imperial): T1 – Weapons: Heavy Weapons, Prototype Weapons, improvised Weapons T2 – Vehicles: Armored Units, Artillery Units, High Mobility Units T3 – Special job: Freelance (bounty hunter), Force Sensitive (not Sith/Jedi), and Experimental (Evo trooper type units) Soldier (Rebel): T1 – Weapons: Heavy Weapons, Prototype Weapons, improvised Weapons T2 – Vehicles: Armored Units, Artillery Units, High Mobility Units T3 – Special job: Freelance (Smuggler), Force Sensitive (not Sith/Jedi), and Black Ops If you want I can supply the tree for the Spy, and Pilot as well. The idea is that you have to have a T1 before a T2, and I’d like to see the choices enacted via a Freebuild. This keeps the more coveted roles hard to reach. Along with these individualized choices I feel we should keep the current ranks in place as guarantied advancements.
