  1. From start to finish it took about 4 hours, most of that time was figuring out how to get the chassis shaped well enough that I could start the panel work. I also had to some rebuilding to get the front mudguards added in. I hadn't even considered doing a hardtop, I’ll have to look into that.
  2. OK, continuing the current trend of building cars intended to give some competition to the up coming Speed Champion cars I've been hard at work on a 6-wide KTM X-Bow. this little speed machine was built to take on the most technical raceways and put out Ferrari level times for a fraction of the cost. Our resident Octane driver liked the car so much he has been begging me for one. so with out further ado here is my latest MOC. EDIT: LDD file added to mocpages entry: LDD KTM X-BOW The X-Bow uses a turbocharged four-cylinder 2.0 litre Audi engine which produces 237 hp, in a car weighing only 790kg! This beast can run 0-60mph in a short 3.9 seconds. the slot in the orange body panels is meant to resemble a Crossbow which to takes its name from. and here is our happy new owner! i bet he can't wait to start enjoying this little roadster! Comparison pic with the Endurance racer, which shares a wheel base and height, but overall length is shorter on the KTM (3 whole studs shorter) as always Comments and Critiques are welcomed, hope you liked it!
  3. Inconceivable! I've looked this over top to bottom and not only is it a spot on Jango, but the build looks incredibly strong as well!
  4. number is 11458
  5. I agree completely, that is number one on my to mod list, lower the fender line as low as possible. and the roof line too. I'll hold off on going to 8 wide until I can actually get a solid feel for the cars.
  6. thanks for the compliments!, and LegoGuns, i'm holding off on the LaFerrari and McLaren P1 until i can grab the lego sets themselves. i plan on modding them, but not sure how extremely yet but it will happen.
  7. So, Nissan has revealed its newest racing machine, the GT-R LM NISMO. its front engined V6 Twin Turbo, and Front wheel drive. oh but wait its also Electric and All Wheel Drive! that makes it uniquely FF/E-AWD with a combined power output of 1250 BHP. and just a day after the first images appeared here it is in LEGO form! Originally this was a 6-wide, to match the current city race car, and the upcoming Speed Champion cars. but it never really felt right that way. I think 8 wide was the right choice. Comments and critiques welcomed! Real Car Reference image.
  8. that looks great, sure its a prelim image so it will inevitably change, but it looks very promising!
  9. as fun as it is to see the 9v wheels, the 7wide looks far more real. looking at length though, they both feel a little stubby. 2 more studs long would do them good I think.
  10. From the announcements I've read on it so far, the V6-TT motor is dedicated to the fronts as you have said, the electric power however is all-wheel drive. so the end result is a FF/E-AWD vehicle with a Front power bias. by far one of the most mental creations from NISSAN so far. the genius of this design though is that they can now focus tremendous down force over the front of the car and use most of the rest of the aero to reduce drag to its lowest possible levels (some will still be needed over the rears but nothing compared to what it would need as a FR or even a balanced AWD) there is a lot of skepticism right now though on the electric power numbers, many current teams are struggling to reach that kind of power, and they have been at this for longer than NISSAN (appears to have been) and the last point of interest those meaty 14" fronts. the stopping power of those should be quite a sight, late braking faster stopping and a very responsive FF bias on exits. my expectation hinging on them getting a total power output of 1250bhp is that this will be a tough car to beat in technical tracks, high-speed circuits will lead to the better racing battles as the completion (Audi, Peugeot, Porsche) can easily match the 200+ claims.
  11. Ha! I saw that too! that is definitely a place I would love to work/play.
  12. this is the greatest Ash Williams I've ever seen! the boom stick rocks, and the Chainsaw is genius!
  13. That model TIE sure looks to be in UCS scale... very high likely hood that is a proto for the set rumored for later this year. I am also intrigued by the yellow ship below the proto Slave I pictured. I've never seen a ship like that one before, can anyone identify it?

    Fire Station

this is great! plenty of style and looks like a real city station. the only thing I would like to see added is a Hose tower (I've always liked those) otherwise this is perfect for just about any Lego City!
  15. actually the more sets that come from IDEAS the more I've come to realize that there are no set rules as to what will be coming. although the UCS scaled sets are unlikely, LEGO has proven they are willing to test waters and try for things we thought were dead in the water. for example: Last year we thought we would only ever get a single set from a review period, now we are getting 3 from a single review (Birds, TBBT, Dr. Who) small models are still the flavor of the day, and I see that being the standard overall, I believe LEGO is looking for that perfect set to try for in larger scale.
  16. you know Stig and Boba Fett are probably a better match up neither one is much for words
  17. I've been crunching the numbers on the exact same challenge, so far its not looking good (funding being the limiting factor) double the length and increase the width parts count nearly quadruples! also I don't have anywhere to store a ship that size once complete.
  18. well done! nice looking stations, i like the balcony and the modern styling, i couldn't help but laugh though at your passed out Pilot, face down on the stairs Ouch! *EDIT: i see he has regained his footing now *
  19. Last weekend I was at the NAIAS (North American International Auto Show) in Detroit. among the various cars in attendance was this rather successful beauty. I have many more pictures from the show, if anyone wants to see something just ask, I probably took a pic (if it was there) Contructors Champion NAIAS by kayjeb, on Flickr
  20. I had the same issue when I first built mine, turns out I was building the lower part backwards. there is a small support that goes across the front of the structure, as can be seen in the attached picture from brickset. 75059 Sandcrawler by Brickset, on Flickr
  21. better get that new Ferrari cheese grader in here pronto
  22. that trash can cover is perfect! great for a modern city. these sets have so much potential! (also seems I was wrong about the endurance car sharing tires with these new ones)
  23. There are 2 blue colors used widely in Heartlake sets, those are: Light Royal Blue, and Medium Azure. He 2 links below list a large variety of parts (which you can then click to find out what sets they are in) for both colors. Also “Pick-A-Brick” walls in official LEGO stores will likely have bulk amounts in “Friends” colors usually Medium Azure. http://brickset.com/parts/colour-Lgh-Roy-Blue http://brickset.com/parts/colour-Medium-Azur hope this helps!
  24. Secondhand Lions, No question "They went out with their boots on"
  25. Just found a video from the Nuremburg toy fair showing all the speed champion sets we've seen so far (no F-40) start watching around 0:30 seconds.
